Poll: If Proffesor Oak were a Pokemon, which would he be? Vote Now! |
Author has written 4 stories for Pokémon, and Harry Potter. My name is Ziria. Not really, but I'm not just going to go around handing out my real name...right? It came from a the main character in a Redwall fanfic that I will probably never get around to writing. The Night Rose was supposed to be her title, but it is now the name of my pirate ship ;) On other websites I go by Silver Lightning Flash, or just Silver, or The Heart Of A Riddle and recently, Silver Phoenix. I really shuold've just used the same name, but I'm stupid, so I didn't. I'm a college student, living the life of an English major, but I'm still sort of a noob when it comes to real world experience, so I would be nice if you could read over my stories and comment. They really aren't that long, but I understand that real-life often gets in the way of reading stories, and I hope I don't sound like I'm begging for reviews, because I'm not. I would rather have a review that tells me my story is crap and lists ways I could fix it then one that says good story update soon, Because how it that supposed to help anything but my self-esteem? Of course, if you're not into Pokémon or Harry Potter, don't even bother reading them at all :) I have noticed that when I'm online my personality often switches from a hyper/perky/fangirl-screaming teenager, to a more serious young adult. I don't know why it changes so drastically, but some stories are just so good that I can't help but squeal when I see that it's updated, and the few reviews that I leave will probably be in all capital letters and not be helpful at all. Other times however, I am able to reel in the screaming fangirl and chain her down so that I can write a helpful review. Unfortunately, this doesn't usually work, and my review ends up looking like this: OMG THIS STORY IS SO GOOD UPDATE SOON! I love to write but I know I am not even close to being the best writer ever. I'm not even going to try to pretend. I sometimes have trouble putting my ideas down on paper (Make that always...) I'm working on it though, and lately I've been more involved with the planning of my stories, instead of just writing as I go. I have a list of about 20 story ideas, 6 of them have the first few chapters, but I never know which one I want to work on. Some of them are fanfics, and others are completely original, so I might put them on other websites. Don't count on it though. I really am one of the laziest people I know, I'm not gonna lie. I don't really have the motivation to do much besides read, which it why I hardly review except at the end of stories. I never seem to find enough time to sit down and write, but I have time to read all of the stories on my favorites list. Funny how that happens right? (I have not so great grammar, and kind of bad spelling, but I do have spell check so it wont be too much of a problem. Feel free to point out any errors you see, so I know what to do next time. I won't get mad at you, don't worry.) If you're into Pokémon, the poll will really help me in writing my story "We All Live in a Pokemon World", so please vote:) I made a forum a while ago, but It's pretty much dead. I also made a community for Harry Potter fans, so go check it out! It's a collection of some of the best and longest time-travel involved fics. It's called "Harry Potter's Tardis" But don't worry it has nothing to do with Doctor Who...yet. There may be a few crossovers appearing in it;) These are a few of my favorite things... Bold- Absolutely one of the best! These fandoms are where I usually lurk:) Italics- I have read and liked a fanfic in this category, but it may or may not be on my favorite stories list. *Some of the fandoms listed here are ones that I really enjoyed when I was in middle school, but I have left them on the list because they are still on my bookshelf at home and I sometimes read them when there is nothing else to do:) Books- Harry Potter, Redwall, Eragon (The Inheritance Cycle), Airtimes Fowl, Warriors, Charlie Bone, Wicked and its sequels, The Host, Maximum Ride, Guardians of Ga'hoole, A Series of Unfortunate Events, the Underland Chronicles, The Hunger Games, The Maze Runner trilogy, the GONE series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, The Princess Frog series, the Inkheart trilogy, the Uglies trilogy, Delerium, Divergent, and I'm reading Game of Thrones right now, and it's amazing so far, AHHH there are too many to name!! TV- Doctor Who, Sherlock, Supernatural, CSI, Criminal Minds, Survivor, Amazing Race, Avatar the Last Air Bender, and Korra, The old Pokémon shows (up until Hoenn started), lots of other reality shows, many shows that have been canceled, Mythbusters, Animal Planet, My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, the Powerpuff Girls, Foster's home for Imaginary Friends, Merlin, Firefly, and those really trashy shows that are nonetheless entertaining, like Dance Moms. Video Games- Pokémon, Mario, Spyro the Dragon, Super Smash Brothers, Sonic, Kirby, racing games, lego games, Pac Man, Tetris, and Frogger. Movies- Pirates of the Caribbean, Lord of the Rings, All the superhero movies ever (except for superman, I hate Superman.) My favorites are Iron Man and The Avengers. Classic/animated Disney movies, especially Hercules, Mulan and Lilo and Stitch, The Mummy, Indiana Jones, Jurassic park, Star Wars, Sherlock Holmes, the new Star Trek, and many more. I generally like action and adventury type movies, but also Psychological movies that make you think and have gigantic twists at the end. If you have not seen A Very Potter Musical, and its sequel, A Very Potter Sequel, YOU HAVE TO SEE IT!!! Go to Youtube and watch it, I promise It won't be a waste of time. It's a fan made musical parody of the Harry Potter series that has massed a cult-like following of Quirrelmort shippers. The genius of it blows my mind. And Darren Criss is totally awesome :) "Red Vines. What the hell can't they do?" Haha, are you interested yet? Or at least confused? I thought so:) Some things I like and don't like when reading fan fiction. General dislikes- Let's just get it out of the way. I don't like slash unless the characters are gay to begin with. I don't like it when people decide that they will suddenly change people's preferences. I like my characters to actually BE in character, and changing thier sexual preferences is changing who they are as a person. There ARE a few exceptions, I don't mind Sherlock/John (from the BBC Sherlock) and Dean/Castiel, becasue the chemistry they have on the shows are so amazing to begin with that it's not hard to imagine feelings that weren't put there on purpose. I also won't read fics that are so terrible I can't understand what's going on, or if they have atrocious grammar. I don't like authors who act like there fic is the best thing since sliced bread, but there is no plot, flat characters, and it doesn't flow. Harry Potter- Likes- Time travel fics, Tom-Hermione fics, stories that show what happened in those 19 years after the was, and Marauder fics (their seven years at Hogwarts). I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to see some fics about a completely Original Character, where they go to school and stuff, and Don't Know the Golden Trio/ the Marauders. If anyone sees a story like this, that is actually good, please tell me. Dislikes- (extreme) AUs- whether it is pairings, timelines, Harry has a brother/sister, or anything that isn't even remotely close to canon, and I generally don't like it. There are a few that are exceptions to this rule, like with any rule. Actually, I've been finding more and more AUs that are good...but it has to be AU from the beginning, not AU after book five or anything like that. I also generally don't like fics that have Severus Snape/anybody, or where he raises Harry, because they usually get him really OOC. I really can't see JKR's Snape hugging a crying Harry, can you? I already don't like him much, but those just make me dislike him even more. Pokémon- Likes- OT stories- Love them, especially if they are good, long, and have a huge subplot (AKA the story isn't just a typed up story of the video game). Reborn fics ("copyright" of Srgeman, if you haven't read A Little Night Music yet or even heard of it, shame on you!) Mystery Dungeon fics, (same with the OTs, you need a really good plot) and, stories where the main character is a Pokémon. I like stories where it goes past canon, and gives a deeper and darker side to Pokémon that isn't just the, good guys win, the world is saved, stories. Dislikes- Romance Fics with the Anime characters in them- I know, I have some, but in general, I don't like them. I especially don't like one-shot-romances. I like LONG stories with Ash in them, where he is actually in character. I don't even TOUCH stories where the Anime people go to high school. The same goes with stories where Pikachu is barely in it- Ash Loves Pikachu, he won't just push him aside because he is now a romantic guy who loves Misty/May/Dawn/other girl. I also don't "ship" anyone, (in the Pokemon Universe at least...)except Ash/Misty, and I don't discriminate against most pairings, though I will raise my eyeballs at some of them. A Note On FLAMERS R.I.P A Little Night Music Final Review Number: 4655 FYI: The journey of a thousand promises has been put on indefinite hold while I think of a way to improve and continue it, because I’m stuck. Why don't you read it and tell me how much it sucks? I abuse emoticons. I typically have about five ":)" in every review. I think they're a nice way to get my point across. | |||||||
