If you can believe such a thing, my pretties, I have only been an obsessed CSI-girl for about a month now. Something just clicked! I was watching reruns on Spike TV and found myself disappointed when they switched to other programming. I wandered to my computer and, for the first time since I was about seventeen, searched for and started reading fanfiction. FFnet was such an easy, well-organized place to find what I was looking for.

Reading led this lover of words to try her hand at some fanfiction of her own (again, for the first time since I was seventeen and obsessed with ST:Voyager...ah, the follies of youth!). I have been writing CSI fiction for about a month also, and I was stunned to find I had over 200 pages of stories. (My husband jokes that I have the ability, thus, to write a whole book in two months, if I would just write something I could get published instead of Sara and Grissom ahem indulging off-screen.) I am just now finding the courage to begin posting my work; I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my own creations and was terrified at the reception my work might receive, especially after reading some of the truly talented writers whose work appears on this site.

The reviews I have received are truly water to the Nevadan desert that exists in my mind, if not my backyard. I find myself retreating back to a junior high state: "They like me! I am a Cool Kid!" In all seriousness, however, I feel blessed to have gotten 13 positive and encouraging reviews in my first two days as a posted author! If you are reading this because you have just finished a story of mine, please take just a second and scribble me a review, even if it is a critique--I do actually take constructive criticism fairly well. It's that perfectionist screaming in my head to capitalize and punctuate and, for the love of god, pick up your socks.

I have a few more finished stories that I am obsessively rereading for accuracy, etc., that I will be posting soon. I also have several works in progress. I like to post even multiple-chapter stories all at once for you, my dears, because I know that I am an impatient brat, and I would imagine that I am not alone. So if you see a work up, it is likely to be complete. However, if you see the opening for a continuation in something I have posted, or have a suggestion for another chapter or a sequel, please include that in your review. I am happy to work from others' suggestions; I will even be working on a story here soon for my friend LTB that will be a fascinating read, methinks. How could it not be, when it includes the requirements of a can of spam, a breakdancing competition, and Grissom saying 'your mom'? Stay tuned.

I posted another story, "Wild Horses," late last night. I've already had several wonderful reviews! Thank you so much! Since I only started binge-watching CSI within the last several weeks, I have gone from seasons 1-7 in the blink of an eye, and a lot of my fiction drifts back through the GSR timeline. "Wild Horses" being a season 3 fic, I had to abandon the idea of wild GSR monkey-love, and it was hard, let me tell you! Sure, I could write it, but it probably didn't happen yet...if he won't have dinner with her, why would he--Nevertheless, I have a new idea swarming my head for a series of brief one-shots that are post-episodic called "Alternate Endings," based on the premise that Grissom and Sara have been sexually (but not romantically) involved since she arrived in Vegas. What do you think--interesting concept? If you're reading this and have thoughts, message me and I'll base my decision on the readers' reaction.

We're up to, what, seven stories now? And so many lurk on my computer still...but I don't want to flood the site! Plus, some of the early ones I wrote before I had even finished watching the first seven seasons of the show, so they're pretty non-canonical. Sex in season four? Can it be? Eh, probably. Thanks to a couple of personal messages, I have been working diligently on "Alternate Endings," the title of which I think I will be changing to "Afterw(o)rds." Nice play on words, yes? Maybe. I have finished seasons 2, 3, and 5, and am almost done with 1 and 4. Why am I not writing in order? Oh, I'm nuts. But once I have the first 5 finished and have made sure my theoretical storyline makes sense, I'll post them, each season as a chapter. Then I'll work on seasons 6 and 7, because they'll be more sparse due to canonical goodness. Keep an eye out! Also, I have to finish (or start!) LTB's story. Why do my friends want stories about Nick? Seriously. It takes me away from my GSR, and I suffer withdrawal. It's no good.

"Watching Sara" just went up last night, and I had to giggle at poor jenstog, who reads my smut while feeding her kids breakfast. That is a whole new kind of love. Thanks, Jen! I will definitely be posting a sequel or two to this story, although I don't think we're going to get to breakfast and afterward right away. Sara demanded to be able to explain herself after a few reviewers pointed out that this is a little OOC for her, which is, well, probably a good point. So, there will probably be a "here's why I went insane, love, Sara" chapter and then some sort of uber-magnificent culmination of sexual need chapter, cause those is nummy.

I should warn everyone that I am committing the sin of not watching season 9 as it airs; I watched the first seven seasons on DVD a few months ago and am waiting for season eight, which will come out on DVD on Oct. 14th. So...my stories will continue to be postings of things I have written since the beginning of August, when I started watching the show in earnest, and will not follow current events--which is, of course, the other reason I am avoiding watching season 9 in real time, because I am terrified of what they are going to do to our beloved GSR. Indications in interviews with Petersen and Fox do not bode well, and this makes me sniffly. HOWEVER, I will be traveling to Chicago in November to see Petersen's play there, and I think being in the same room for the first time with someone who is so talented it makes me swoony will make up for the potential unhappy ending of my favorite CSI pair. Not that I'm losing hope or anything...

I have posted my first NCIS (Gibbs/Abby, of course!) and House, MD (I'm a big fan of House paired with Cameron or Wilson, as these are my favorite three characters, although I'm open to almost anything...maybe not Foreman, but anything else) fictions in the past week. I am hoping to develop as many delighted readers in these genres as I have in CSI.
