Update 14/8/2010: Just letting you know that I have written a Bleach Lemon Oneshot called "Man Enough For You" that was inspired by a prompt one of my beloved readers directed me to. Update 26/6/2010: Just letting you know that updates are going to be less frequent for a while as I have been through a series of medical tests and it has been confirmed that I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I’m epically annoyed about that, but there’s very little I can do about it. I’m not using it as an excuse and I don’t want any pity, I just thought I’d let you know that updates are going to be slower, unfortunately. Just be patient with me, ok? Greetings to any unfortunate soul who had stumbled across what is known as my profile. And as you can see, there isn't much to look at. Truth be told, I'm truly weak at things like this, but I will give it a try. Let's start with the basics, shall we? Name: Yes, my name is Melody. There, I've said it. Now could you Suethors out there stop butchering my name?! Age: Old enough to know better but young enough to try anyway. Sex: Female. Personally: Can generally get along with just about anyone even though I may hate what they do, I don't hate them because of it. Not to judgemental appearance or personality wise, but certainly not a saint. I tend to clash with those who speak before they think, as it gets on my goat how they become offensive whenever their words get taken out of context. I'm a little blunt at the best of times; but I'm not disrespectful or rude. I don't hold back from anything and I don't pretend, either. What you see (or in this case, read) is what you get. I'm insanely protective of my boys and get rather bitchy if they're not treated right, especially by their girlfriends. Likes: Anime: Beyblade, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Black Cat, Zoids, Naruto, Bleach and Orphan. And many others, but unable to think of them at the moment. Characters: Kai, Ray and Miguel (Beyblade), Ryou Bakura, Duke Devlin, Alistair (Amelda) and Seto Kaiba (Yu-Gi-Oh!), Kevin McDougall, Train Heartnet and Rivar (Black Cat), Jamie and Bit (Zoids), Magic and Orphan (Orphan), Iruka, Kakashi, Kabuto, Izumo, Itachi, Deidara, Hidan and Raido (Naruto), Ukitake, Kyouraku, Ichigo, Hitsugaya, Byakuya, Kenpachi and Hanataro (Bleach), Tracey and Gary (Pokemon), Espio, Shadow and Knuckles (Sonic series), Kanda, Lavi and Allen (D.Gray-Man). Misc: Bashing my own Original Characters, and believe me, I do. Interesting and unique plot lines. Old and cliched plots getting a revamp or new twist. A strong, all male cast. Believable GenderBending stories; especially the ones where the character is secretly female, yet hiding as a boy for whatever reason. Dislikes: The abundant amount of Original Characters being paired up with Canon characters. Mary-Sues and FOCs in general, I'm afraid. All cliches involving Mary-Sues/OCs. Immature 'Gurl Powah!' loving fan girls. Boy and men bashing. Discrimination against men. Stories: Yaoi: Will read most Yaoi pairings (in fact, there are some that I'm beginning to love), if the plot is good and the layout and spelling better than average (will only read stories where certain characters are on the bottom in any pairing, though). I have a fondness for some characters to be protrayed as the Uke only; e.g., Kai, Ukitake, Byakuya, Ryou, Tracey, Kevin, Kanda. I am very particular about who should be uke or not, so don't try to convince me otherwise, please. Het pairings: Can't read het stories involving the girls of canon (love the canon females to bits, but can't stand reading them in a pairing for whatever reason). A male character turned into a female character is the closest thing to het I can read, I'm afraid. Gender Bending: Yes, I tend to take a male canon character from a series and turn him into a female. Ukitake from Bleach is my utmost favorite at the moment, but I have others I like as well -though I would probably be killed if I write a story with them- from a few other series. Ryou and Alister from Yu-Gi-Oh!. Kevin from Black Cat (very strange, I know), Kanda from D Gray-Man and Espio from Sonic the Hedgehog series. Please don't kill me, I know, I am a very strange and demented young woman. I'm working on it. :) I would just die from glee if I ever find a female Kabuto or Ukitake fic, though. Mpreg: I don't mind reading a bit of Mpreg, as long as it's done tastefully and the story is written extremely well. I don't like reading about girl's monthly circles or wild mood swings; dealing with them personally is more than enough, thank you very much. I must admit I am beginning to like male characters, or the uke in the relationship being called Mama. It's just too adorable in my opinion. OC Bashing: Yes, I bash Original Characters; my original characters that I created myself. I do not go hunting for profiles of other authors characters. I'm not that petty or spiteful. Yes, I hate them with an unreasonable amount of rage, but I would not openingly mock someone else's work. These characters are my own, filled with the usual Mary-Sue cliches, and treated how they would be treated in reality. One of my pet peeves is when a supposely sister of a canon suddenly appears when the character is injured, missing or unconcsious, barges her way into a house of her 'brother's' friend and start ordering everyone around. In real life, if a girl I've never seen before did that, I'd kick her out of my house so fast, her head would spin. And unitl her 'brother' wakes up and tells me other wise, she's not getting inside or anywhere near him. It's not cool and rebellous, it's bloody annoying. Always looking for OC cliches to make fun of, if you have any, don't be afraid to drop me a line. But if its something that really gets up my nose, don't be too concerned if you get a thanks with a rant included. Just ignore it; the annoyance would never, ever be directed at you. Apology: If I use your name in one of as a Mary-Sue my OC bashing fics please accept my sincerest apologies! I know what it's like having ones' name so hideously misused. Please note that the OC is not based on you and live happily in the knowledge that I know you would beat the crap out of said OC without breaking a sweat :) Dislikes in Fanfiction: Avoid all stories with the promise of OCs being paired with Canon like the plague (unless it involves OC bashing of some kind). Not at all fond of interactive fics, debates or insanity stories where the author has had a little too much sugar. Blatant OOCness is right out, no matter how funny the author thinks he/she really is. Will not read crossovers, especially those of the Harry Potter kind. Hate to death most school fics as they tend to warp the characters personalities into something most terrible. Puh-lease, Kai is not a player or a playboy! He doesn't give a shit about his reputation or about your Mary-Sue, get over yourselves.
