Just thought I'd give you guys an update on what's going on. It's May tomorrow, which means that finals are coming up, and after that, I graduate and have to move out of my apartment and all that jazz. So, if I decide to be a good student, I won't really have time to write. There definitely won't be any sort of updates until late May/early June. But here's how things are looking:

If I find myself with any free time, I'll try to write. But I may choose to hang with my friends instead. We're graduating--we might not even see each other again. So I'd like to make use of these last days and go out with a bang academically. We'll see how that goes. haha

On my pairing choices:

I've started to notice recently that I am a pretty open-minded shipper. Quite honestly, if you can make me believe that the paring could realistically work, I will shrug and go, "Well, why the hell not?" Case and point: I just finished reading an amazing fic called The Middle Ground...and it's about ShinoTen. I thought it was such a strange paring that I actually took the time to read the fic, and now I consider myself a ShinoTen shipper! It was honestly that simple. I still think that NejiTen and ShinoHana are cute, but clearly I'm open to other possibilities.

I am this way with almost all of my ships. For example, I am a pretty hardcore IchiRuki/ShikaTema/KakaSaku/NaruHina shipper. However, RenRuki doesn't bother me, because the relationship makes sense, and neither does SasuSaku or KibaHina. Do I prefer my parings? Obviously, because I believe that IchiRuki and NaruHina need to be 2getha 4evah and all that jazz. But if these alternate parings show up? I'm totally down for that.

Another case and point: yaoi. I am not really into yaoi, but if the two people could logically be in a relationship and are not thrown together in your fic just because, I can overlook it. Do I think that Naruto is gay? No. But do I see the sense in SasuNaruSasu or NaruGaaNaru? Yes, so I can't really be too mad. Kakashi isn't gay either, so I'm not going to read any KakaIru or KakaGai. But heaven forbid there is some KakaYama in there...I can kinda see that happening, so I'll let it slide.

And then there's Sakura, the unfortunate fanfiction-whore of Naruto, who can literally be paired up with almost anyone (and has been), and the story would still make sense. I've read stories where poor Sakura was paired with Ino, Shino, Shikamaru, Choji, Genma, Gaara, Kiba, and most of the Akatsuki. And to be quite honest, none of those bothered me. But the one Sakura pairing that does is NaruSaku, because the manga makes it seem highly unlikely (and also because it makes me angry). The same goes with Ino--she can be with whoever she wants, Choji, Kiba, Sai, Kankuro, Genma--but the second she starts macking on Shikamaru, I click out of the fic. Yes, I believe that Shikamaru belongs to Temari, but Ino and Shikamaru don't seem plausible at all, and so I get really annoyed at the thought.

And, again, the same goes for IchiHime. The fact that Ichigo barely notices Orihime, partnered with the fact that he always notices Rukia (even choosing to save Rukia over Orihime when Ulquiorra told him she was dead in the Hueco Mundo arc. Yeah, Ichigo tried to turn right back around to go to her. Look it up. :D ) makes this paring highly unlikely to me. I don't dislike Orihime as a character, but she can't have Ichigo. (If she wants to take Ishida or Ulquiorra, however, I'm totally down with that. ;) )

Now, I will admit, I do have one couple that I hate, despite how canon they clearly are *cough*HitsuHina*cough. But quite honestly, it's the Bleach animators' faults for putting the thought of HitsuKarin in my head! There are two whole filler episodes devoted to them, damnit, and it's adorable! This, partnered with the fact that Hitsugaya is awesome and Hinamori is too annoying to deserve him, make me hate this paring with a passion. Oh well, I'm allowed one cheat, I guess.

On my earlier work:

First off, I'm one proud mama. I love some of the one-liners; I love my ideas for plot. That being said...some of my earlier stuff embarrasses me. It's just so sappy (my IchiRuki work in particular)! Sometimes I have to stop reading and facepalm at it all. You have been warned.

Things that annoy me about fanfiction:

I hate it when people write "Sorry, I suck at summaries XP" in a fic's summary. That is just putting yourself down from the get-go, and if you don't believe in yourself, why should I? I never read fics with summaries like this. They are clearly signaling themselves to be terrible.

While I'm on the subject of summaries, I hate when summaries begin with "What if..." and then proceed to list this long-ass thing. (Or even worse, if it's broken up. "What if blah? And then what if blah? And then BLAH?! What would happen?") It pisses me off, because 1.) you keep asking me what would happen when clearly you are about to answer your own question and 2.) the only suitable answer I can give you is, "Well, if Naruto was a girl but nobody knew that she was and she was the new transfer student at Konoha High that had a massive crush on Uchiha Sasuke, the school's resident bad-boy--well then, this wouldn't be Kishi's Naruto, now would it?"

It bugs me when people ask me questions in anonymous reviews. Or even worse, try to point out my faults in anonymous reviews. I love that you're reading my fics and taking them seriously, and I really want to help you, but how am I supposed to answer you? And if you're seriously saying stupid stuff/flaming me without putting a face to your name, you are a coward. Man up, damnit.

It bothers me when people put entire Japanese sentences in the middle of English dialogue. Pick a language!

Songfics bother me. I don't know why. But I always read around the song.

When people can't tell the difference between "there" "their" and "they're", I twitch. When they can't tell the difference between "your" and "you're" I want to hurt myself. When they can't tell the difference between "breath" and "breathe", I want to hurt THEM. (Learn the difference between "cloths" and "clothes". Believe me, the world, if not the fanfiction community, will thank you.)
