Author has written 15 stories for Doctor Who, Charles Dickens, Sherlock, Blues Brothers, Harry Potter, Psycho, House, M.D., Things They Carried, Avengers, and Batman Begins/Dark Knight. About Me (but not too much): Name: Megan Nowayinhellamievergoingtotellyou I like many things. Here are a few: 1. The 39 Clues (if only for the forums nowadays) Look, Ma, I can count! Fanfiction Friends: The Anonymous Photographer (real life best friend), MlleSouris (another real life best friend), MusicDefined (real life cousin), music4evah (real life best friend), *LucianWriter77, psychoticbookgirl, 13Mysterious12, Dove's Wing, Woman in Black, Miranda Le Fay, TheGirlWhoLikesBooks, The Logical Fallacy, Evanescence456, Mam'zelle Combeferre, Arlothia, and Joelle8 I may add more, so watch out! My Projects of DOOOOOOOOOM Not really. But here they is. Complete- Card 246- The awesomest collaboration ever! Of course, now everyone in the 39 Clues fandom knows that Dove's Wing, Joelle8, and I are completely bonkers, but it's okay, because I accepted this fact long ago. Haha. Those Who Should Not Write Christmas Carols- Funny, sweet, simple. A quick write and a fun read. A Far Better Thing, A Far Better Rest- Just a little "Tale of Two Cities" poem. Art History- I happen to be proud of this. I think it was really fun to alter the course of history, and it turned out better than I had even hoped. A Touch of Blue- The Doctor has dropped off Amy and then comes back...and she has a fifteen year old daughter. His fifteen year old daughter. I did finish it, but not how I'd initially planned. I basically ended up resigning and writing out a basic summary of the remainder of the story. Midnight Toast Run- I like the Blues Brothers. I like Elwood. I wanted to do something that told his backstory and made him discover it by pure chance. Last Stand- A Harry Potter oneshot. It seems like an exceptionally ordinary O.W.L. prep essay. Professor Binns had told his students to write a paper about an event in fairly recent wizarding history and how it affected their lives. A certain boy with all his mother's spunkiness and all of his father's soulfulness took on a certain couple of minutes of a certain battle, a couple of minutes that claimed two people he wished more than anything he could know. Your Anna- My depravity knows no bounds, and I've written a fic for Psycho of all things. It's about Anna Bennett, Norman Bates's first victim. But she was more than that. She was his best friend and the love of his life. You can see why Mother thought she had to go. You Know How It Always Upset Mummy- My first published Sherlock fic. The tale of Sherlock's long-suffering mum. Of Strings And Things- It's another Sherlock one, and I really can't get away from the character that is Sherlock's mum. She enters into this, too. Basically, this one is about how Sherlock is pissing everyone in the neighborhood off with his insane violin screeching, and then he shows John that he is actually a virtuoso. New Years Eve- Last year, I came up with a Doctor Who Christmas special which was well-received, but this year, I didn't get to writing until Christmas was quite over...but New Years Eve was right around the corner. So I did that instead. Jack brings Rose and the Doctor together again so they can tie up their loose ends. A Chronic Problem- My first attempt at House fic, and I'm really happy with it. Different style, alternating between Wilson "telling" the girl he loved what went on between them and dialogue-only conversations between Wilson and House. Comic Books and M&Ms- The Things They Carried fic that talks about what happened to Rat Kiley after the war. In Progress- Enthrall Me With Your Acumen- Avengers fic in which an OC of mine from a previous project is put in charge of rehabilitating Loki. I started it, but I started over. I was originally going in a Katy-abuses-Loki-until-he's-broken sort of direction, but I don't think that'd work on him. So I'll go the friendship and eventual romance route but try to spice it up somehow. Actually in first person, which is different for me. Planned (summaries included- joy!)- Started But Never Completed- The Stranger Child- My Sherlock Holmes fic. It was a victim of me putting all my efforts in A Touch of Blue. A Truth Universally Acknowledged- My Pride and Prejudice/Doctor Who crossover. It suffered the same fate as The Stranger Child. I might rewrite both now that I'm done with Blue. Secrets Kept From Me- an Indiana Jones fic that just never panned out. It could have worked, but I didn't feed the plot bunny and it died. The story was about the granddaughter of Henry Jones, Jr, Michelle "Mitch" Jones. Mitch became the next Indiana Jones and went on adventures. I thought it was going to be sooooo awesome! But the plot bunny starved to death. :( Aftermath- a Harry Potter fic in which Lavender Brown becomes a werewolf in the final battle and has to cope with it. I felt that it got really weird and stupid, so I let that plot bunny die. Confessions of the Werewolf's Ex- another Harry Potter fic that I decided wasn't worth it. Parvati Patil is a reporter for the Daily Prophet and every year, they interview someone who was close to one of the victims. A witty, eccentric woman named Susanna comes forward, saying that she was Remus Lupin's girlfriend when they were at Hogwarts. Most of the story from then on is in flashback mode. I decided that I didn't like it anymore and let this one die, too. Out of the Darkness- a Phantom of the Opera fic where Erik fell in love with Meg Giry and they lived happily ever after aboveground. After a while, I decided that it was far fetched and had gotten stagnant, so I let it die as well. What They Wanted To Do Afterward- a Harry Potter fic that was me interviewing eight people who died in the Battle of Hogwarts: Fred Weasley, Nymphadora Tonks, Remus Lupin, Severus Snape, Katie Bell, Michael Corner, Colin Creevey, and...Bellatrix Lestrange! I started it, got all the way to where Katie was about to begin talking, then looked back and realized how choppy and crappy it was. Imagine a fic imagined, begun, half-finished, and quit in the span of little more than a week. How efficient! A Most Curious Week in July- Okay yeah, I did say that this 39 Clues Fiske/Nataliya would never die. But it did. So deal with it. You Can Imagine the Christmas Dinners...- This was my first attempt at writing Sherlock fic, and it turned out terribly OOC to the point that even my beta couldn't salvage it. By the way, it was about Sherlock's first visit home for Christmas in ten years. Copper Beeches- Essentially a modernization into Sherlock-verse of the original short story The Adventure of the Copper Beeches. This ended up being close to word-for-word plagarism, and I felt so very sickened by myself that I never even finished. Helter Skelter- A Sherlock piece about John attempting to get Sherlock a date. Why? He has a bet with Lestrade. He lost. Some of the dialogue was a little out of character, and it seemed a little awkward. Something Wicked This Way Comes- A Crucible fic which tells what happened between John Proctor and Abigail Williams as far as their little fling was concerned. I got into it a little, but the pacing was a little on the slow side and putting an element of antiquity into the dialogue was really something I didn't have the time or desire to do well. Untitled- A next-generation Breakfast Club is stuck in Saturday detention at Shermer High School in late March, 2011. I had my character sketches and a strong idea of what it would be like. But that idea was nearly identical to the movie. I couldn't get an idea into my head that would set it apart, and didn't give it the attention it deserved. However, I might still take it in the direction of a character study of my main character from this. We Never Knew- Harry Potter thing about a girl who arrived at the Burrow and said she was Fred's daughter. It turned out really rushed and not so good. Untitled- Hunger Games book about the Second Quarter Quell. It was going to take a lot of time that I didn't have. Published But Deleted- Riley's Update on Life After Finding Cibola- It stunk. It was tiny and it stunk. Once Upon a Time- It could have been better. Plus, the 39 Clues isn't much my cup of tea anymore. I think I've outgrown it. Unexpected Additions- Again with the whole I-outgrew-the-series thing. I just had absolutely no desire to ever finish it. Christmas 2008: Teddy's Tricks- It could have been much better, and it tortured me for long time. I considered rewriting it, but I ended up going in a somewhat different direction. Calming a Stormy Sea- My only attempt at Phantom of the Opera fic that actually made it online. It was terribly OOC, and I really grew to dislike it, so I deleted it. Where I Get My Titles (Because a lot of people have trouble with thinking of good titles, so here's the meanings behind mine) 1. Those Who Shouldn't Write Christmas Carols- No brainer. Nine and Jack shouldn't write Christmas Carols. Ever. 2. A Far Better Thing, A Far Better Rest- A simple, catchy abridging of the last lines from "A Tale of Two Cities." 3. Art History- Simply what the story changed. Again, simple and catchy. 4. A Touch of Blue- In my imagination, when The Doctor saw Amber as an adult, she had only one of her signature blue streaks remaining in her hair, and the image of this "touch of blue" made for a very pretty title. 5. You Know How It Always Upset Mummy- Just quoting Mycroft here, don't mind me. The whole story is about Mummy being upset, so it fit. 6. Midnight Toast Run- What the story basically consisted of. Worded like the title of some blues song. 7. Last Stand- Teddy told the story of his parents' last stand. Many of my titles are obvious. Don't underestimate the power of obvious. 8. Your Anna- The girl's name was Anna and she was his. God, my titles are so simple. 9. Of Strings and Things- Violins have strings. This is a violin story. Strings rhymes with things. 10. New Years Eve- The title of a very real movie that wa,s in theaters at the time of me writing it. And the story is centered around that holiday. 11. A Chronic Problem- Chronic refers to medical problems, and House was all about that. Also refers to Wilson's terrible luck with women, which continued in this story. 12. Comic Books and M&Ms- Two of the main character's favorite things. That's it. 13. Enthrall Me With Your Acumen- A sarcastic Hannibal Lecter quote from "The Silence of the Lambs," which the main character initially compares her job to. Also, ACUMEN IS NOT A SEXUAL THING.
