Newest word from me: I have new opinions about singers. Some celebrities cannot sing, and people think they can. I was watching several Youtube videos of different celebs singing the anthem, and I was appalled. Many people think they are hitting high notes, when in reality, they started so low-pitched that they sang notes that only went up to the upper middle of the treble clef, if that! Also, some start too low for their singing range, and it sucks!

I am so frustrated with their phrasing. They will take breaths in the middle of sentences. Yes, music contains sentences. Do not breathe in them. It sounds awful and demonstrates poor understanding of the music. One should NEVER breathe between the words "spangled" and "banner" in "Oh say does that star spangled banner yet wave." It sounds tacky.

Also, the section "But the rocket's red glare..." DOES NOT NEED TO BE FORTISSIMO! Every singer I have heard makes the beginning mezzo piano, and that section fortissimo. Yes, it is nice stylistically. Yes, it emphasizes the "oh wait!" moment of the song. Yes, IT GETS OLD. When will people realize that going from fortissimo to pianissimo attracts more attention than going from pianissimo to fortissimo? Honestly. Switch up the dynamics! Never copy!

Some scream the "high" notes. Demi Levato, I am watching you. Same with you, Miley Cyrus. Miley isn't melodious.

STOP WITH THE VOCAL ACROBATICS. If you don't know what this is, look up Demi Levato's performance of our National Anthem. She will take one word and go through EVERY NOTE IN A SCALE AND MORE to finish it. Think Christina Aguilara. Yes, this can be stylistic. It is annoying when EVERY SINGER DOES IT. Kudos to Imogen Heap, who never does this. She rocks my socks.

They also need to open their soft palates! If you run your tongue along the roof of your mouth, you will feel the hard palate and the soft palate, the squishy part at the back of the throat. Many celebrities (and singers in general) collapse that palate when they sing "ah" vowels. It should also be open when singing the "free" ending of the banner! If the soft palate is collapsed then, the singer will end on a very screechy note!

I have been reading fanfics for about 2 1/2 years now! I'm fifteen, and I love FullMetal Alchemist. In my opinion, the manga is infinitely better that the current anime, and I have read all of the chapters that are out so far. I highly recommend you do as well! Onemanga.com gets the new chapters in English every month! Check it out! I also love well written stories. Grammar is important! I finally got an account so that I can review your stories, and I also might add one or two of my own. If I have reviewed your story anonymously, you may know me as edxwin is cannon!!

On yaoi and slash: I despise both. YAOI MUST DIE. IT MAKES NO SENSE. YUCK. YUCK. YUCK. Sorry to you yaoi fans, but I really REALLY can't stand it. Keep in mind: I am not homophobic. I just do not care to read about it, and I don't like it when fans pair two straight characters together. That is not cool. I don't understand why it is so popular!! The pairings have no backup. I do, however, love friendship fics between Ed and Roy. They have an awesome cannon relationship, and it can be manipulated over time to mature. I love it!

What I do like: Fanfictions for Chrno Crusade, Twilight and FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST. Fullmetal Alchemist is by far my favorite. I have been reading FMA fanfics for the longest time, and I still read them today. What I enjoy in fanfiction is hurt!Ed (don't ask me why. Maybe it is because there is something hot about the struck down hero...), sick fics, the occasional deathfic, EDWIN, warfics, the occasional highschool fic (if it is well written), and supernatural. I love fics where Edward is a demon/devil/vampire. It rocks! Pair it with Edwin...and you got something tasty.

A bit about me: I am a 4.0 Sophomore in high school. My name is Rae. I am in Honors English, so I take GRAMMAR into account. I like good writing (but I hate the class...huh). I love choir. I like to sing soprano, and I participate in both musical theatre and drama class. w00t!
