Author has written 10 stories for Star Wars, and Star Wars. It had been long since I updated this description of myself as an author, which was already insufficient then. After everything I've written since, I decided it was worth putting some effort into writing a decent profile for myself. I'm 24 and had always been good enough with writing, but never really did it for anything other than work. I really liked Star Wars as a child, but then lost interest as Star Trek became my favorite version of science fiction. Although I appreciated the scientific and technological aspects more than Star Wars, I found the social aspects of DS9, TNG, and VOY a bit too idealistic. When I first played Knights of the Old Republic, I came to appreciate much more about how some people become leaders while others are ignored. This may be placing too much value on a game, but it could be looked upon as a social experiment where your choices influence your outcome. I wanted more, but found only two games... one rushed to completion. After finding some really decent fan fictions based on KOTOR, I tried writing my own version of a character I really liked and thought that I had real talent for writing. Yuthura Ban was only a very minor character, but I really liked her and felt she deserved her own story. So I began the first chapter of Shrouded in Darkness, and have been working on it since. It's already become much greater than I originally expected, but it's far from finished. There is still much to write about. My hope is to give this character a story where she can find peace with herself, but I wanted to do more than write about one character. I want to go into depth about a variety of subjects that we all can relate to and believe Yuthura is an excellent source for such subjects to be confronted. I prefer the first-person perspectives because it is an excellent way to put yourself into the position of a character and see the world through her perspective. Because we all see the truth differently, it is aimed to make another's beliefs your own. If you want very black and white plots, then you should find another author, because I go deep into controversial conflicts... sometimes deeper than I wanted. Star Wars is my favorite science fiction genre, but I prefer the characterization more than the technological aspects of the story. I really like Star Trek for the technological and futuristic concepts, if not for the fact that it's based on a future that we supposedly might one day live in. Star Wars has the social issues that we've never truly overcome, but the fiction relies much more on supernatural than logic. I also have a tendency to gravitate too much to one of three fictions I'm working at. One is Yuthura Ban's Tale. Another is about how the Jedi Exile came to joining in the Madalorian Wars. This one is stagnant at the moment, but I hope to eventually finish it (Prior to Exile) The third, (A Life of Sacrifice) takes place after the events of KOTOR II: TSL and is my version of what happens in KOTOR III It features an original as the main character, the Exile and a few returning characters, but also features Yuthura Ban after the events of Shrouded in Darkness leave off. These fit within the same plot lines as each other and are mostly canon. The third is on track for updates soon. Hope you enjoy reading my stories... please at least read the first chapter of the other two if you enjoy only one. | |||||||
