A Poem

If I were to spread my wings and learn how to fly,

Would you even see me there, floating in the night sky?

If I grew a fishes tail and swam so fast and free,

Would you even see me there, dancing in the sparkling sea?

If I had the fastest legs, fur up to my knees,

Would you even see me there, crouching in between the trees?

If I had the sweetest song, that drew the world to my call,

Would you even see me there, hopping on the wall?

Just maybe, with a bats grace

That no human could erase,

Or the shimmer of a fish,

Too expensive for the cat’s dish

Even a cheetah’s power,

Equivalent to the beauty of a flower

The voice of Nightingale,

Thrush, Robin and Quail

With beauty that outstrips the human race,

Maybe then you’ll see my face

My Favorate Poem:

SONNET 130

My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun;

Coral is far more red than her lips' red;

If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun;

If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head.

I have seen roses damask'd, red and white,

But no such roses see I in her cheeks;

And in some perfumes is there more delight

Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks.

I love to hear her speak, yet well I know

That music hath a far more pleasing sound;

I grant I never saw a goddess go;

My mistress, when she walks, treads on the ground:

And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare

As any she belied with false compare.
