Author has written 4 stories for Card Captor Sakura, and Kyou Kara Maou. ANNOUNCEMENT (11-03-09) So my one-shot has still not been revised to my liking. I'm not sure what it is, but something about it is off, which is why I haven't posted it. Sorry, but it looks like it'll take me a while until I figure out what it is exactly that is bugging me about it. My short story is coming along nicely, though. I seem to be on a roll on that one and since it's so short, it might be finished sooner rather than later, 'might' being the operative word. It's tentively titled Figment of My Imagination so be on the look out. On another note, I have a livejournal where I'll be putting up my fics and just ramble on about anything that pops in my head. All entries are public for now but I might change that later on. So if you want to get to know me a little better and want to know what's going on in my head or if you have questions about my stories, etc, check it out. Just like here, I'm Nariko_D at livejournal. Facts About Me I am currently a college student set to graduate in 2011 with a Bachelors in English with emphasis on Creative Writing. I don't work but not because I don't want to work. I just have a little fear that by working I won't be able to handle the stress from having a job and going to school at the same time. I do reside somewhere in California and enjoy spending my time reading and writing. I got bored with the whole hetro romance thing considering that a lot of published authors have the tendency to cross the line from strong, independent women to stubborn, very annoying women. So I moved on to male/male romances that I've discovered are a little more enjoyable and they have the added benefit of having two sexy guys. I also love Japan and nearly everything that is a part of that country. I could add a list of favorite anime, mangas, tv shows, music, etc but that might take too long to write down. Facts About My Writing I don't work with outlines. I've tried that but my characters usually go their own way and the end result is totally different from the outline, and that's what happens with both multi-chapter fics and one-shots. Because I don't work with outlines, I don't have a sure direction of where my story is going so stories get longer than I expected or become shorter than what I thought. I have learned from writing my CCS fics a few years back that it is so much easier to have the complete product of a multi-chapter story before submitting the first chapter onto any public website because by not having any chapters up for public viewing, I am free to go back and rewrite, toss out, or create scenes without needing to explain to anyone why I had made those kinds of changes. Not publishing anything until after the final product is complete also means there won't be a risk of me putting the first few chapters of an in-progress-story onto a site only for me to put it on hiatus or discontinuing it due to loss of interest or writer's block. If either the former or the latter occurs, I can simply put it in a folder where it could sit for who knows how long without my having to explain anything to any upset readers. So time between publishing completed works on this site or any other site could be months. When it comes to writing fanfiction, I also tend to use characters that will have some sort of role that is connected and/or is important to the plots of my stories. For KKM, I most likely will not be using all the characters in one single story the way many other authors do. Rest assured, I like all characters. They each have their own charm. But I don't want my plot to be overwhelmed by all the characters and all the subplots that come with them. So for those who I won't be using in all my stories, they might be mentioned in passing and if so, I will give some sort of reason as to why they aren't there within the story itself (i.e, Gisela was the best healer around but since she was helping those who were wounded in an earthquake that hit the south of Shin Makoku, they had to find someone else to help those injured in the castle) or their existence might be largely ignored and will not be mentioned at all. I might also word my story in a way that suggests that a particular character had never existed in the first place (expect this a lot with Greta's character).
