Hey all, I have decided to rework my profile since I thought my previous profile was kinda sucky. Just in case you are wondering, I am going to write my profile in the third person since I tend to have many different personalities floating around my head.

All about basket-case1880

Laura is the writer known as basket-case1880, although she also answers to the name Laura-Jane as that was the name given to her on her birth by her parents. She is the eldest of two girls with a ten year, three months and 4 day gap between her and her little sister.
She was the first person in her family to complete high school and is currently the only person in her family who has graduated university. Albeit with a lowly undergraduate diploma and not a full degree but she is still the first person to hold that accolade in her family.
Laura still lives at home with her parents, but sometimes wishes she lived in her own place since they always complain when she's on fanfiction.net or facebook OR Twitter, which are her own personal vices. Her only vices, in fact, along with her iPod Robbie, her phone named Frank and her netbook called Emmett.
Laura has a very eclectic taste in music ranging from JLS to Bryan Adams to The Clash to Glee. She has recently discovered the wonderful music of Lady Antebellum due to the number of fanfics based on their song Need You Now. She now plans on writing a series of stories for one of her favourite ships based on a number of Lady Antebellum songs that pinpoint different points in a relationship between the two she chooses.
As for the couples she ships, there are countless. The main ones, however, are the ones she either writes for or plan to writes for. So far, she has written for Spike and Buffy from Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Spuffy) Gwen and Owen from Torchwood, Jackie and Robbie from Taggart and Christian and Syed from Eastenders (Chryed). She also ships Tony and Ziva (Tiva), McGee and Abby (McAbby), Kate and Ari (Kari) and Jenny and Gibbs (Jibbs), she has recently ventured into the slash world and is now shipping Tony and Gibbs (Tibbs) from NCIS, Jack and Ianto (Janto) from Torchwood, Neela and Ray (Reela) from ER, Rachel and Puck (Puckleberry) from Glee and Amy Pond and Rory Williams from Doctor Who. There are many more that Laura ships, but she hasn't ventured into those worlds yet.
She has also written a story about her ultimate TV character, Grantly Budgen from Waterloo Road. He is one of the best characters on TV and it was hard for her not to write the story based on him that she wrote.
In her fanfiction, she has created two original characters; Zoya Clarke Masood in her story Little Gift and Beth Caroline Ross in her story 30 Days of Songs. Yes, they are original and yes, anyone can use them. But please let her know if they are being used, or at least acknowledge her in the A/N, disclaimer or whatever. It is impolite to use other people's characters and pass them off as your own. Yes, Laura has borrowed some original characters in her latest Taggart story, but she has always acknowledged their creator, Helen, when using them.

UPDATE (14/9/11) Laura has had severe writer's block with the story Lives Collide so she has deleted it for the moment. If she can get the inspiration to complete it she will repost the story.

Laura's beta reader is her best friend in the whole entire world and part time muse I think ur Superman aka Alison. She was the reason Laura passed standard grade maths, so she owes her, her university degree.

Laura's other muse is one of the personalities within her head. This muse is called Abigail and it means father's joy (according to Laura's bible) and she is exactly like Abby from NCIS. Hyper and scientifically minded and addicted to coffee, although hers is not in the form of Caf-Pow, which she wouldn't mind trying. However, her parents are encouraging Laura to reduce her caffine by taking decaf coffee, although that just means that she can drink more to get her usual high (Yay).

Well, that's my profile, in case you haven't noticed from my description, I am a Gleek, science nerd and Christian. Although I am Protestant, I wear a St Christopher chain all the time. After all, my mind travels all over the world every day when it's planning different plot lines and reading different fanfics. Also, I feel he protects me when I am travelling to and from uni every day since I need to take the bus. One of my mottos in life is "I'm not weird, I'm gifted."
