Author has written 7 stories for Evangelion, Naruto, and Chuck.
I’m pretty tired of seeing pages and pages of badly-written stories in a ruined fandom. Rampant yaoi being the most obvious, followed by stories with horrible characterization. Atrocious misuse of the Japanese language (“Oh, if I use some Japanese in my story, I’ll look cool, and smart.” – If you don’t know Japanese, you just look like an idiot. Do yourselves a favor, learn what you’re using before you use it. Or you look like one of those dumb people with the kanji for “foot” on their T-shirt.) That, and the worst quality in writing that I have ever seen in my life. Nowhere else have I ever seen such a blatant disregard for the most basic of things, spelling and grammar. Stuff that a normal spell check wouldn’t catch is fine, it’s usually just a typo or two. I can live with that. But entire stories that are just one screw up from beginning to end? No. It's almost like since the creation of the Naruto fandom, the Earth's rotation has been fueled by the collective turning of English teachers in their graves.

It’s not just the stories, either. It’s the reviews as well! Since when is “zomg udpate soon this ficcy roolz omg narusasu 4eva!” considered a review? Forget about misuse of Japanese, is that even English? You fangirls seriously need to stop. Quit ruining everything you touch. Seriously think for a second on what you’re writing about. What is your real reason for having an obsession with gay child porn (I’ll skip the biologically impossible and utterly asinine male pregnancy part)? Let’s not forget, fangirls, that Naruto is written for a male audience, not female, and that most males are straight. Naruto is not a shoujo manga – it will not, or at least, not with the main characters, have any gay pairings. It probably won’t even have any pairings at all. It’s an action/comedy manga. Where does gay child porn fit into that?

It’s gotten to the point where I’m honestly embarrassed to say that I read fan fiction in any form. The fact that it’s embarrassing to admit to anime fans is ridiculous in itself. Not only am I embarrassed about being associated with fat, immature, pimply-faced teenage dorks that watch Dragon Ball Z (don’t look at me like that, the stereotype exists, it doesn’t appear out of nowhere), now I have worry about those people associating me with fangirls that write nothing but smut? Shoot me now.

When I look for a story, I look for a few things. First, I look for length. I usually don’t read multiple-chapter stories that have an average chapter length of five hundred words. That’s less than two double-spaced pages. Even with ADD, my friend can write something longer than that. That is a very loose way of thinning out all the crap, although it helps a lot. This rant alone is longer than most of the chapters some writers waste their reader’s time with. If I can write a rant this long, how hard is it to write a decent chapter? Second, obviously, I skip the gay fics. It’s not so much that I’m a conservative when it comes to this kind of stuff, or maybe it is, but fact is that a gay pairing is almost always the guarantee of a badly written story. Third? I skip the Sasuke/Sakura and Naruto/Hinata pairings. This one is a bit more difficult to justify, but only slightly. I should skip stories with pairings altogether, but since most of the bad writers that don’t write yaoi fics write those, it’s easiest to just skip the entire thing together. It comes as no surprise that I hate Sasuke. I hate all the silent, dark, filled-with-angst, pretty-boy characters that all the girls seem to fall over themselves for – Sasuke, obviously, or elsewhere, like Satoshi in DNAngel, or Touya in Ayashi no Ceres (note how the latter two are slightly more justified because they are indeed, shoujo manga.)

That being said, I set out to do things right. Thusly, I ask that anyone reviewing please do the same. Don’t make a fool of yourself. If you’re going to review, then do so seriously. Don’t think that a “update soon” will be even considered. If I even see a mindlessly written review, the only thing I’m going to do is laugh at it. Seriously written reviews will be accorded the utmost respect. Anything else and you’re on your own. I’d rather have no reviews than a hundred badly written ones. I realize I don’t carry the clout of a “big-name” writer, but trust me when I say that I’m not the only one that thinks this way. It’s utterly embarrassing to be associated with writers of yaoi and shounen-ai. If I sound jaded, that’s because I am.
