Howdy. I'm a 25 year old graduate student who recently changed majors from Music Therapy to an MBA in accounting.

Yeah, I'd say that my interests are pretty diverse.

I got my undergrad at a little school in the NC Appalachian mountains, and the grad school I'm attending now is in north Texas (not at North Texas, mind); like I said, diverse. In undergrad, I graduated with an BMe - Bachelor of Music education, instrumental concentration, magna cum laude, with a 3.86. I took 163 hours divided up over 76 classes in just four years. 3.86. Four years. 163 hours.

Right.

I like to write. I've participated in nanowrimo for 3 years running and have "won" each and every time. When I was in 2nd grade, my aspirations were split between becoming either a writer or a basketball player. Since I have the coordination of a drunk hamster on speed, the latter was naturally proclaimed out as soon as I got a little older; that and I'm only 5'5". My only claim to anything remotely athletic is marching band, which I have to say proudly (and painfully) that I did that for 7 years straight (10th grade through senior year of college).

I work part-time in a human resources office, primarily focused on a gigantic self-appointed data cleansing project that I have been working on for more than 5 months now. I'm only a work-study student and they gave me a desk. Something is seriously up with that, no joke; now maybe you can understand some of the reasoning behind my changing majors so drastically. I very nearly don't even have a boss anymore.

I'm hoping to get my CPA and go on to be an auditor of some kind. Since I have an artistic background, I have considered the option of possibly working with some kind of non-profit after graduating. However, I also really like the idea of criminal investigations via the auditing route; so I'm leaving that option open for now.

My mom says that there are two types of people in the world: Berts and Ernies. She has informed me in no uncertain terms that I am a Bert, while she is an Ernie. My mother says that Berts like to collect paperclips and talk about oatmeal. As a kid, I used to play pick-up sticks against my teddy bears and add up the scores in columns of numbers for hours on end. Then I'd run in to where my mom was and say, "Look at this! This is so cool!" And mom would look at me and say in a semi-disgusted voice, "Geez you're boring!"

Scary, no?
