November 21st 2009 (Poll Q): In January, I'm going on a five day school trip to northern Minnesota. The temperature during that week is usually between 20 and -40 degrees fahrenheit. There are two showers, so no one is allowed to bathe for the entire week. We have to wear four coats every time we go outside (it's a RULE) and, on the last day, we get on our bathing suits, run out to a hole in the frozen lake and jump in. Everyone in my grade is practically pissing their pants in excitement. I think it sounds terrible. Am I weird or what?

October 31st 2009: NaNoWriMo begins tomorrow. You'll see nothing new from me until December. Calm down. I'm not ignoring you on purpose. Happy Halloween!

October 15th 2009: Well. It's true. I've been on this website for exactly one year, today. Amazing. Time flies. My writing has improved a lot, though it's still nowhere near as good as I would like it to be. Ah well. There's always room for improvement, right?

I am Mird. I have a cousin named June and I own google (shut the fuck up, Max F). My fingernails are turning purple and I have no idea why. It's probably because I live in random place-that-is-cold. I adore Owl City, and not just because of Fireflies. I like books that are good. If they are bad, I hate them. That is why I hate Twilight. I refuse to use too many contractions because I am attempting NaNoWriMo. I skip school too often. Is that enough of a description?

Never mind, my fingernails aren't purple anymore. :3 But I still love Owl City.

how 2 rite gud fanfikshun was deleted by FFnet. I had no say in the matter, although I was considering deleting it on my own, anyways. I feel a lot better now. That story was starting to bug me, along with the reviews. Whatever.

Sometimes, my own stupidity is too much for me to handle, and I get the urge to beat myself over the head with a shovel, if only to end the stupidity. Although, beating myself over the head with a shovel would probably only lead to more stupidity, and that's no good. So I refrain.

Please excuse my stupidity.

I like to write crack and semi-angst (not at the same time, of course) but I'm not very good at either, so I usually settle for something in between. Your normal, average-joe fanfiction, filled with the usual clichés and half-assed attempts at getting reviews. Then again, I'm not very good at THAT either, but that's okay too because people still like to read my stories and that's all that matters.

I ADORE Fullmetal Alchemist. I like the manga far more than either anime. It's all-in-all the best series I've ever read. It was the first mangaseries I read, too (because Camille threw the first book at my head and commanded me to read it) and ever since I became obsessed with it, I have not found a single series that lives up to the expectations that FMA has created. If FMA didn't exist, my favorite manga would probably be...Death Note, or maybe Black Cat or D.Gary-Man. In terms of Shojo, I like Absolute Boyfriend, Guru Guru Pon-chan and Baby & Me. (...Dear god, I'm stupid. -_-)

I hate Twilight with a burning passion. Bella? Major epic Mary Sue. The other Mary Sues cower in fear. Edward? He's a sparkly vampire for Pete's sake. Excuse me? Is that hot? Since when? Plot? Tch. Evidently, Stephenie Meyer is too cool for plots.

People call me Mird, although I admit, it's not my 'real' name. The name I was given at birth was Mira, but I have really bad handwriting, so all my a's look like d's and one thing led to another...Now my name is Mird and I spend 30 percent of my time reading and writing fanfiction. I am a girl, younger than most people think I am, and I wear ugly glasses that are purple. (I'll probably be getting new ones next year. I'm looking forward to it) I am thinking about legally changing my name. Stop laughing. I'm serious.

Some things that piss me off about fanfiction: People who replace the word 'eye' with 'orb'. It pisses me off so much. Never, EVER use the word orb when describing an eye. THEY. ARE. DIFFERENT. THINGS. Also, I hate when people subscribe to my oneshots. I specifically say 'this is a oneshot, the end' and yet, I still get subscriptions. IT'S. SO. ANNOYING. (I emphasize points by using unnecessary capitalization and periods. You'll notice this if you ever start up a conversation with me...)

Books I like: Anything by Bart King. He writes humorous stuff, and it's really good. Go to his website. (Bart King dot net) I also like anything by Jaclyn Moriarty- Her first book was Feeling Sorry for Celia, and it's good, but not great, then there's The Year of Secret Assignments (known as Finding Cassie Crazy in the original Australian publication), which I own, and it's amazing. Next is The Murder of Bindy Mackenzie (Known as Becoming Bindy Mackenzie in Australia and The Betrayal of Bindy Mackenzie in the UK), which is also great. Then there's The Spellbook of Listen Taylor, which I don't recommend. It's kind of...Random. I also recommend anything by Jodi Picoult. My Sister's Keeper was amazing- the movie can't possibly live up to it. From what I heard, they changed the ending, which makes me EXTREMELY upset, seeing as the original ending was...-faints- It was amazing. Just amazing. Another great author/artist: Shaun Tan. Who says picture books can't be moving?

I'm always honored when people put me on 'Author Alert', but when it's just 'Favorite Author' I'm offended. Either just put me on 'Author Alert' or both or neither; some people favorite everyone, therefore, it means nothing to be favorited by them and I hate it. Also, most people on this site have really bad taste (one reason why Mary Sue fics have readers) so any favorites (of stories, author, etc.) aren't worth getting excited about. For me, at least.

My dream: I want to write fanfiction for the dictionary. No, I'm not kidding. It would be fucking hilarious. I WILL MAKE IT HAPPEN. IF YOU SUPPORT MY NOBLE GOAL, PUT THIS ON YOUR PROFILE! (Actually, don't. I already started a dumb 'forward this 2 eleventeen ppl or u wil die' email. That's enough abomination for one week.)

A Very Dumb Stereotype: The vast majority of FFnet is female. I've seen about two- maybe three- guys, and over a hundred girls. By the laws of stupid stereotypes, this means that FFnet must be pink, frilly and filled with unicorns. This brings up an obvious question: What is wrong with girls today? Answer: Absolutely nothing. There's just something wrong with the stereotypes.

My views on yaoi: I don't like yaoi. Although it's a stupid, slightly self-centered reason, I don't like it. I don't like it when people write about a relationship between two people where I see none. It's fine when people write yaoi fanfiction for a yaoi series (in fact, if a series were originally yaoi and someone wrote a fanfic where the characters were straight, I would get equally offended) - But not Fullmetal Alchemist. The reason I like EdWin is that there are hints of it in the actual series. For example, Winry is riding a train in one book and says to herself 'I must have been in love with him from along time ago.' (This is a very awkward-sounding sentence- I blame the translators) Also, when Riza asks Ed if he loves Winry, he freaks out, and everyone knows that to be an obvious sign of LOVE/a simple crush. There are, however, no hints of yaoi. Although Ed and Al love each other, it's strictly brotherly love, and they make that obvious on multiple occasions. RoyEd makes the least sense to me- Is it not obvious that they hate each other? Parental!RoyEd can be okay, although most people write it in an extremely unrealistic way. It's hard to keep characters IN CHARACTER when you're putting them in a pairing that has no reality surrounding it. I suppose it is possible, but very few people seem capable of it. (Apparently, some yaoi fans put a lot of work into portraying the pairing in a realistic way. If you are one of these people, then keep up the good work! Please don't be offended by this paragraph or any other comments I make!) Of course, I can't stop the yaoi fans from writing yaoi, and I've decided to stop trying because it is a stupid, rude and hypocritical thing for me to do, but I do hope that they'll put warnings in the summaries, because I truly dislike reading it. Thank you.

I think some people may be confused about my username. 1) I'm not making fun of retards. It's an inside joke. Seriously. 2) 5892 is NOT five-eight-nine-two. It's fifty-eight-ninety-two. It just recently occurred to me that people wouldn't instantly know this.

The best review I've ever gotten: 'i don't like you're story.' Hear that? This guy doesn't like my are story! Seriously, whoever sent this (under the oh-so-creative anonymous name '??'), thank you a million times over. I'm a bit of a grammar whore sometimes (sometimes, not always) and this review never fails to brighten my mood. Hilarious.
