Author has written 65 stories for TV X-overs, Babylon 5, Kung Fu: The Legend Continues, Highlander, Touched by an Angel, Battlestar Galactica, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Charmed, Firefly, Stargate: SG-1, Stargate: Atlantis, Planet of the Apes, Star Wars, Left Behind, Buffy X-overs, StarTrek: The Original Series, Misc. Books, Dark Shadows, and UFO. I've been involved in fandom for over thirty years and have written in numerous universes. My first fan fiction stories were published in a local long running zine, 'Of Dreams and Schemes', still in existence today, and I started posting online a few years ago. I also write original fiction, have attended a couple of writer's conferences, and am submitting to publishers and editors. I have published serials on line and several poems in collections, some of which I've won awards for. Special Note: SGA/SG1 fans. I live in the Colorado, so my geographic locations and references are correct. JUST IN: Christian Gate Fan has asked me to finish 'Left Behind: Stargate SG1' due to a heavy study schedule and many requests for it to be continued. CGF will be reading for continuity and posting all the chapters so we don't lose anyone on the alert list. I will be working from an outline provided by CGF, adding in a few details here and there as needed. I understand this is highly unusual, but since we worked on the collaboration for LBSG1 & LBSGA, we already have an established writing relationship and a pretty good idea on where the story needs to go. In progress. Bit of my background: I was born in Washington State, raised in Idaho, have lived in Oregon, Boston, MA. & Colorado. I've traveled quite a bit, seen much. Yellowstone National Park & the Black Hills area in South Dakota, are two of my favorite places. Anyone who reads my stories will find quite a bit of personal experience in them. As my writing teachers kept saying, write what you know. As the pros say, write what you're passionate about. I'm married, have two male cats - we've lost our two females in the past year and half. I'm currently unemployed and searching for a new job. My chief hobby has over run my working space, upsetting my spouse, but I keep at it. It is dollhouses and it shouldn't be surprising they all have stories about the people and pets that live in them. I'm a semi-pro artist. I sell 3-D pieces in local shows; am a worship dancer at church; sing with my fellow filkers once a month (Filk : Science Fiction folk singing). The 66th Annual World Science Fiction Convention is now over. I had a great time and learned more about the publishing world, plus I networked with a number of authors, editors, reviewers and joined Broad Universe, which due to finances, I've sadly had to allow to lapse. It's a group of women in SciFi, Fantasy and Horror who have banded together to support each other. Grew up reading SF with such writers as Andre Norton, Anne McCaffrey, Isaac Asimov, and others from the '50s, '60s and '70s. Worked in a bookstore during the 1980s and was very familiar with many of the big names. In more recent history I attend SF conventions, I know many of the pro, semi-pro and working to get published local writers, several of which are my friends. I also know many of the local artists, including a number who are nationally known. It's like that in fandom. FYI: I do keep an eye on what C2, favorites and alert lists I end up on. I also read profiles of my readers or those whose stories I'm reading. I like knowing others' backgrounds. Oddly enough, it is also useful marketing information when I talk to publishers about my original novels. Not mention my hit statistics which I discovered they want to know about. Who would have thought? PRO PUBLISHING UPDATE 11/02/2009 AMG rejected my young adult novel 'Dragon Summer'. I'm actually relieved since the manuscript needs a major rewrite. I intend to send it out sometime next year when the changes that need to be done are completed. I have submitted my second story to 'Lorelei Signal', an online free ezine. I should know in a few weeks if it's been accepted or not. I've also heard back from the editor who requested as story for the anthology, 'Full Throttle Space Tales #4: Space Horrors'. He likes 'Chosen One' and it's a strong contender for the collection. I won't be official until January or perhaps February. I'll also be submitting to 'Tales of the Talisman' as well sending two new stories to 'Of Dreams and Schemes'. Both deadlines are the end of the year. I'm hoping after that I will be able to work on my novel, 'God's Gift'. Not to mention Lee Martindale put out an open submission call for an anthology she's doing and I have the perfect story started to fit her theme of the oldest profession. 'Winter Awakening' still has two possible interested publishers, Marcher Lord Press and Wolfsinger Press. Warning: The below listed publisher and contest is for Christian Speculative Fiction.
