Here is one of my very short poems based on no book at all.

I beat my mother up the stairs,

She beat me down again.

We beat each other ‘round the block,

Going smack, smack, smack

Like a clock’s tick-tock!

The poem above, which I just created by the way, makes me laugh, especially if I picture a class in school discussing this poem like my class discusses poems about Robert Frost, Emily Dickinson, and Maya Angelou.
