I am a 30-something writer and designer who found FanFiction.Net in mid-2008 (yes, I am a late bloomer) and have been hooked (is addicted an acceptable word?) ever since. I'm still wading through all the gems under the Harry Potter section and probably will be for, I dunno, ever. I feel like I've fallen into an idyllic sort of haven -- unleash your imagination is right -- which serves to keep the adored characters of J.K. Rowling's world alive and well. And thank goodness for that.

I simply adore Severus Snape. He is brilliant. Love-love-love him. He's the ultimate juxtaposition: abrasive yet vulnerable, emotionally broken yet redeemable, dark yet light -- a complex, fiercely loyal, wicked smart and superbly talented wizard who is usually too proud and stubborn to get out of his own way. Did I mention sexy as hell? (Oh, and that bit about Alan Rickman portraying him in the film series? Yah, that isn't helping.)

STORY UPDATE: "The Unexpected Side Effect of Draught No. 9"
(September 9, 2009)
It has been ages since I updated this story and for that I apologize -- I had to let real life budge its way in for awhile. In related news, I am thrilled to announce I started working with an official beta, whom I just brought on board. My little story went and got all grown up and I wanted some help focusing and polishing from here to the conclusion. We are combing through the story now and working on the next chapter(s). I don't have an ETA yet but wanted to let you know I have NOT abandoned this story. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has left a review, expressed interest or offered encouragement -- I hope you all stick around for the remainder of the ride.
