Hello!

My name is Jennifer and I am currently working on a fanfiction follow up to Dead and Gone. Like many of you who have read the southern vampire mystery series, I have come to love Charlaine Harris' characters. While anxiously waiting for the release of the next book in this amazing series (slated for May '09) I find I need something to give me my fix. We all know by now that the future of Sookie and Eric is going to be one great rollercoaster ride and I, for one, cannot wait to see what she gives us. I've read countless fanfictions and as wonderful as they all are, I've yet to read one that attempts to follow CH's love/mystery/drama theme dilligently. So I am trying to stay as close to the atmosphere of the books and her writing style as possible, so I apologize if I'm not giving you all the hot, steamy loving you'd all love to see from Eric and Sookie. =) I promise it'll be there though! Hopefully you will fall in love with it as much as I have.

11/8 - Chapter 7 posted.

11/9 - I am having to rewrite most of chapter 8. I got ahead of myself. It may take a little longer to come out. I have been in such a rush to get to the "good part" of the story that I have not given some of the other chapters the attention they deserve. I am going to slow down and make sure I absolutely love eight before I publish it. It is a turning point in their relationship.

11/10 - A word of warning. The next two weeks are going to be absolutely crazy for me so I will be a little slower on updating chapters, but I promise that I will continue to give it every spare minute of time that I can. =) Thank you all for reading, its the best part of my day to come home and see that you're enjoying reading this story as much as I am writing it!

11/12 - Chapter 11 is proving to be a beast! Its going to take me another day or so to finish it. On a bad note, World of Warcraft's new expansion comes out tomorrow night so I'm going to be a little preoccupied for the weekend. I will NOT abandon the story though. =)

Ok... I lied about chapter 11. I stayed up and finished it. Which means I'm going to get about 4 hours of sleep, but I just couldn't help myself! I hope you all like it. Its probably one of the most difficult things I've had to write.

11/12 - I am taking the night off from writing (mainly because I'm exhausted) and instead I'm rereading and revising some of the earlier chapters. Now, not a single thing is being changed from the main storyline. I am just cleaning up some things and adding a little more description where before I was lax. I hope no one minds and I promise as soon as I get a good night's sleep and can refocus on how I want the next chapters to go (including the climax of the other storyline going on here =p). So far I've only tweaked chapters 1-4. But will mostly likely do the same with the others. They're not quite where I want them to be yet.

11/18 - I am back! I apologize for not updating but I've been extremely busy the past five days. Hopefully by Wednesday I'll have new chapters up! Thanks for bearing with me and for all the mail. =)

11/21 - It seems like I'm continually apologizing! Unfortunately, my birthday took up more than just a day this week! I am working on Chapter 11. I have about 4 pages of it right now and I'm having a helluva time writing it. Eric isn't much for dating, but he'll do just about anything for Sookie. =)

12/2 - Thanks to an unfortunate incident involving my car and some thanksgiving leftovers, Chapter 12 did not survive the holiday. =( Unfortunately that means that, as you read this, I am frantically trying to remember and recreate it. I really ought to just start emailing my work home instead of creating hardcopies and retyping but work email has been wonky. So please bear with me, 12 should be up tonight and its gonna be a good one!!

12/17 - So I went back and looked at the summary I had written for this story waaaaaaaay back in October when I decided to start it and... well I absolutely hate it. Too many things are so un-Eric. I am currently attempting to completely rethink how I want this story to end but I promise all of you I'll have something up by Friday night at latest.

1/20 - My apologies to everyone. I have recently been in the hospital and am just now getting back home and into my routine. Unfortunately, with everything going on, I haven't had much time to think through the story much and chapter 13 is half-finished. I will update as soon as possible and apologize for the wait.

10/17 - So I have been away forever it feels like... Good news, I AM working on the next chapter of Better off dead. Its probably the hardest one I've written so far. I keep trying to drag out something and I don't know how to keep it interesting. This story has taken more twists and turns that I had originally planned and now you know just as much about where its going as I do. =) Thank you all so much for your kind words over the past months ,I am sorry to have taken so long. I do promise I WILL finish this story, I only hope that when I do it will be worthy of your praise. =)
