Author has written 20 stories for StarTrek: The Next Generation, Threshold, and CSI: New York. Hi! I'm a 20-year old Psychology student from Texas, and I write slashy Data-centric stuff on the side. And I have just discovered the totally delectable Gary Sinise, so lots of MacAttack fics are hopping around inside my brain as well . And only a few weeks to Season 6 of CSI:NY... RANT ALERT I'm becoming rather jaded with one section of the CSI:NY community: the group that only reads SMACked fics, or only reviews SMACked fics, however interesting non-SMACked fics are. I have seen totally OTT reviews for fics that - frankly - should never have left the writer's brain, let alone wandered down her fingers - and, I'm sure, only because they were SMACked; and I've seen brilliant, quirky fics almost completely ignored because - you guessed it - they weren't SMACked. Just cause it's Mac and Stella, guys, that doesn't make it automatically good or well-written!! Come on, cut those of us who are a bit more adventurous some slack, review what we write, and don't say stuff is good when it's not. Show a bit of critical discernment, huh? END OF RANT ALERT I sat my first Psychology final in June - and was astonished a few days ago to learn that I'd passed with 99! Not quite sure how that happened, but now I can't help wondering - where did the 1 go? And is it lonely?? I ADORE Brent Spiner - how could any intelligent being not do so? If you haven't heard his latest CD, 'Dreamland', then go listen right now - it's brilliant, funny, and the songs really suit his voice. Hope he does some more of this. The other thing you have to do is watch 'Threshold' on DVD. Quirky, complicated, intelligent - no wonder CBS cancelled it. On the grounds that anything is possible in this world, the more folk who buy the DVDs, the more CBS might be inclined to rethink their big mistake? Never give up... And finally... I've just found a story on here that's simply one of the best I've ever read. It's an 'Invasion' fic called 'The water wants you', and it's brilliant. Well-written, spot-on characterisations, believable plot - you have to go read it! And nag the writer to write more chapters.
