| Joyce Quinn |
Author has written 1 story for Crossing Jordan. My name is Joyce Quinn. I’m a girl who lives through fantasy. In the light of different tech devices, surrounded with innumerous wirings, I spend my days and my nights. But, don’t worry, I’m never bored. I daydream, and I dream, and then I put my daydreams and my dreams on paper… err, screen. I also love to read fruits of other people’s dreams and fantasies. Some of the most enchanting ones I have found on this very site. That’s why I started writing my own fanfiction. It’s really a lot of fun, you know. It goes like this: I pick a show – let’s say Crossing Jordan, dive in it, imagine that I know the characters as well as I know myself (it’s quite possible that I’m guilty of ascribing them some of my traits), and I make myself believe I can write them so well that you could see and hear them. I truly enjoy those moments when my fingers fly over the keyboard and Jordan, Woody, Garret, Bug, Nigel, Lily & co. start living a life. Just like me. If you want to know more about me, I should warn you that you will find my story either strikingly unusual or extremely common, of the kind you have heard a million times. I didn’t have a perfect childhood in a perfect family. I’m an offspring of a couple of delusional minds who wanted me to be clever and beautiful, self-assured and brave. I don’t know if I have met their standards. I love my dysfunctional family, though. But I must admit I still hope to – one day – start a bit “more perfect” one. Where do I plan to start that adventure? Have you ever thought about that yourself? Well, I’d say the first step is finding your sole mate (not soul mate, but sole mate). In my opinion, whether you go searching for him or you just happen to find him, it’s always an exciting journey. That’s why I love writing about it so much. Will she find him? Is he waiting for her? Is he worth it all? Okay, enough about that. I’m sure you’ll notice quite a number of my peculiarities while reading my stories. I’ll make it easier for you, though, and say that some of them are: stubbornness, need for accuracy, craving for humor and romance and a somewhat cynical view that sometimes love can’t conquer it all (or can it?). Is it just me, or we humans are always complicating things? And just a little bit more about me. As I’m a net freak, I can proudly say that I’m a citizen of the world. Languages are my strength, but my weakness too. From Binary, through English and a number of Romance ones, to scientific jargon and slanguage, I love them all. I’m equally hopelessly devoted to learning them as I am to writing. As far as that other passion of mine is concerned, I’m not saying I’m good at it, i.e. writing, only that I can’t live without it. The verdict I leave to you. | |||||
