If I don't update any of my stories for over a year or more without giving you any warnings (either in my A/Ns or on my profile) of my taking a break from fanfiction - then you can safely assume that I died ... I'm serious ... :P

OK, here's a little thought-provoker (or maybe not)

After a little internet surfing, I was both surprised and amused to find that quite a remarkable amount of popular anime male protagonists are voiced by female voice actresses. Mind you, I'm talking about the original Japanese dubs here. It's all the more amazing because these actresses are so brilliant that they initially fooled me into thinking that the characters were actually voiced by men! For example: Uzumaki Naruto from Naruto (he is voiced by a woman in the English dub as well), Ciel Phantomhive from Kuroshitsuji and Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist etc etc. (I'm not counting Alphonse Elric because I suspected a female voice actress from the beginning.)

Now, here's the thing that caught my eye. Having had trauled through quite a lot of fanfics on here, I noticed that these particular characters usually end up as "uke" in the majority of shounen-ai fics. Moreover, many authors that love to experiment with gender-bending (myself included, I admit) seem to prefer turning these ones into females in preference to other male characters.

So, uke syndrome and man-to-woman gender-bending being applied to male characters that happen to be voiced by women ... Hmm ... coincidence, much? (I think not! xD :P)

Random Stuff About Me

I can be extremely weird and twisted when I want to be. It happens even when I don't want to.

I enjoy the simple joys of life and nature; like watching the moon, counting the stars, listening to the rain while drifting off to sleep, watching the sunrise/sunset ... that sort of thing.

Make-up, skirts, shopping, dressing up and the word "fashion" are the makings of my worst nightmare. (Yeah, I'm a bit of a tomboy)

I am the sort of person who would choose a big bunch of friends over one true love any day of the week.

I love my pet African Grey Parrot so much that sometimes I feel like giving it a big bone-crushing hug and eating it. (Told you I'm weird)

Pretty much everything I see is "cute" to me; they include mice, tarantulas, snakes ... (And that's where twisted comes in)

Sometimes, I really really wish that we can literally "sweat drop" and "vein-throb" like they do in Japanese anime.

My sense of humour and sarcastic nature tend to overlap a lot of times.

I can never bear to watch a screen copy of a film, especially if it's a film I've been dying to see.

Like for many young adults today, movies, internet, good books, junk food and, of course, fanfiction are like water and air to me.

I am a firm believer of marriage. Love, though, is still a big question mark ...

I absolutely adore reading. Favourite authors include Neil Gaiman, Phillip Pullman, Eoin Colfer, J. K. Rowling, Meg Cabot, Louis Sachar and so on.

My firm belief that "Movies can never beat the books" was cracked after watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy (but I blame J. R. R Tolkien's longwindedness for that; other than that little fault, the books were amazing) and also, the Narnia films.

I think old school music rocks way more than what they are coming out with now.

Plots for my one-shots pop into my head either when I am a) revising and getting ready for exams, or b) smack in the middle of exams. Well, there goes my concentration ...

I have officially decided upon D'arvit as my choice swear word. (Fellow "Artemis Fowl" fans, you know what I'm talking about! xD)

"Unorthodox Matchmakers" - When Draco Malfoy wished upon the enchanted engagement rings to find him his perfect bride, the very last thing he expected was to end up with a certain Harry Potter ... nonyaoi, femHarry. - Updates are likely to become more infrequent in the future.

"My Type of In-Laws" - Their "epic love saga" has begun and is in bloom! But now they have to face that one, tiny little catch that every relationship has: meeting the parents ... you gotta feel sorry for them ... femNaru, SasuNaru. - One-shot sequel to my fic "My Type of Woman". Sorry for the long wait, but I'm really trying to dig up some motivation for this. My inspiration went boom. But I WILL finish it, no worries. I love it too much. :D

"Intoxication" - All I'll say is that this is based on Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. My version of how Lucian and Sonja came to start their doomed relationship. Somehow, I don't see a love-at-first-sight cliche working for these two. Will most likely be a one-shot.

- I also have ideas for a couple of Fullmetal Alchemist fics. Now I just need the right inspiration and proper time management to write them down. ;P

Fanfiction Trivia Time!

(Also known as useless extra info that you probably couldn't care less about, but which I'm putting up here simply for the sake of procrastination and killing boredom)

- Initially, I never planned on publishing Unorthodox Matchmakers, the first story I ever started, on this site. It was originally destined to remain on my hard-drive forever.

- My stories were only put up here because I wrote Recollections and Revelations - the one-shot tribute to I Think I - which I published to show it to ITI's author, TooDarnLazy. After the positive feedback I got for that one, I got the confidence to put up the other fanfics I wrote. So, all my readers/reviewers have my deepest gratitude for that! :D

- The only reason My Type of Woman was conceived is simply because I wanted to write a story where Naruto b!tchslapped Sasuke, nothing else. I never planned a plot for it. The storyline and accompanying details were spontaneously made up as I went along.

- The summary for My Type of Woman was written before the fanfic and served as inspiration while I concocted the rest of the plot.

- The one fanfic that I'm most proud of to date is Into the Void, mainly because it's based on such an impossible-to-put-in-words idea which I miraculously managed to slap on paper.
