Author has written 8 stories for Hellboy, Star Trek: 2009, and Terminator. Moi, je suis Sophie, a grad student studying Law and Political Science. I already have a degree in Socio-Cultural and Linguistic Anthropology and am doing pretty well racking up those degrees because I'm still in my twenties. I'm engrossed in some pretty depressing stuff day to day, so I thought I would find a creative outlet. I'm a big cinéphile and I love to daydream and "re-write" movies in my head to my liking. So why am I just getting here now? But I digress. Anyhow, I travel a lot, a lot, a lot, which has made me very open minded and I speak a few languages as well. Come to think about it, my parents are two kick-ass Jamaicans who were jet setters in the 60s, so I'm pretty sure they have a lot to do with my open mindedness too. I will try anything at least once as per Green Eggs and Ham except for horse-meat or Dorian fruit. As an anthropologist I can tell you, if anything smells like that you probably shouldn't put it in your mouth. We wouldn't be here without biological markers so we should still pay attention to them. As for likes and dislikes, I'm going to do it Amélie style: J'aime Friends and Family Traveling Learning Music Movies Fresh, wholesome food The good life J'aime pas Liars and Mal Intent Getting comfortable with being in one place Ignorance Country Music (most of it, not all of it) Soap Operas Processed Food, made without love Ungratefulness I grew up reading comic books: X-Men, Wildcats, Superman, Wonder Woman, Spiderman, you name it. As for movies, if it's Sci-Fi, I'm more than likely dead in love with it. I hate chick flicks unless it's a chick flick like Death Proof, Cleopatra Jones or Coffy. Pam Grier and Tamara Dobson were my role models growing up as you have probably figured out by now. Basically, if you blow stuff up and/or have strong women, aliens, or elves, or daemons, or whatever, I will watch it more than once. I'm also a big Dr. Who fan, but only because of Martha Jones and the tenth doctor, oh, and the Master, and I've been obsessed with Prince Nuada as of late. Umm...I like white boys, but he takes it to another level ;o) And I am proud to say that I am a returning Trekker because Uhurock is the new ish. I like reading, have read most of the classics, but for the past three going on four years my readings mainly consist of Law, Social theory and travel books. It's exciting, but it's not The Divine Comedy. | |||||
