The only reason I'm on this site is to read (and hopefully get confident enough to actually write one of my own) avatar stories. I'm interested in reading epic continuations of the show that somewhat seem to be realistic, and stories that feature Kataang and/or stories that further develop the Kataang relationship in between "EIP" and the final make out scene (if you ask me the show did a poor job here). If you haven't guessed I love reading about Kataang, I eat that stuff up. It really bothers me to see that this site is absolutely infested with Zutara fics.

Thoughts on Kataang

This relationship make sense on so many levels, and I love to see them with each other. They really need each other, and I believe without the other they would've failed. Aang defeated Ozai with his love for Katara and Katara had her rough childhood and dull existence of a life transformed into a great and fulfilling life thanks to Aang. To sum it up: they complete each other.

Thoughts on Zutara

Hearing the word makes me cringe. As stated before I can't stand the fact that this website is flooded with this Zutara "garbage". It makes no sense for them to be together after all Aang and Katara have been through together. I've tried to read some of them to get some insight on how Zutara fans think the relationship would work. Everyone involves Aang not caring that the love his life loves Zuko, or that he's not even involved or that he likes Toph (unbelivably unrealistic if you ask me). Before I was introduced to fanfiction the idea of Zutara had never even crossed my mind and I didn't mind Zuko (although I never really liked him that much). Now I hate him because of all the stories with him and Katara together=it's just wrong and nonsensical.

Other ships that I enjoy but don't love as much as Kataang. Sukka, Maiko (see I don't hate Zuko enough not to support Maiko, they actually make sense together) and Toph with anyone I guess as long it doesn't affect my other ships.

Other Thoughts

Seeing that I have immersed myself in reading fanfictions specifically kataang or epic continuations (both in one are the best) I would advise everyone to read the best author on this site's stories: DJNS. Start with her first story the Avatar and the Firelord and read the rest in order. Never before have I been more glued to computer screen wasting away hours reading. Personally, I think her best story and my all time favorite is "Smoke N' Mirrors". Correction DJNS outdid herself and now my favorite story ever is "A Different Light".

MY WORK

I'm finally starting my own story after all this time of talking about it. Who is a good beta-reader because I greatly struggle with grammar and punctuation and need advice on spacing and pacing (basically most things, except I've got a good vocabulary and I can spell pretty well). Also, I have a terrible problem of switching tenses interchangeably as I write, which I'm sure makes readers angry. If anyone is interested PM me.
