Author has written 5 stories for Immortals, Tamora Pierce.

'Loten' is an Old English word, meaning moonlight bright enough to see by.

Fandoms I'm likely to be writing for: Discworld, Harry Potter, Tamora Pierce (Tortall series), Trudi Canavan (Black Magician series). Maybe others, but those four for certain. I mostly ship canon pairings from those fandoms, with the exception of Harry Potter.

I run a forum in the Immortals, Tamora Pierce category called Numair 101; it's a semi-in-depth study of Numair Salmalin.

The one thing I hate about fanfiction is when authors start a story, manage two or three chapters, then abruptly disappear without explanation or put up an author's note saying that they won't be continuing the story. I will not do that. I will never upload the first chapter of a story unless I have a rough draft of the entire story already completed. I will never upload the first chapter of a story unless I am happy with the rough draft and confident that I can complete it to a standard I am satisfied with. The only things that would ever stop me completing a story are computer issues or real life issues. When uploading a story, I will do my best to update it every few days; once a week at the longest. I know how horrible it is to be left hanging for months waiting for an update.

Things I won't read under any circumstances: Firstly, crackfics. Trying that hard to be 'random' isn't funny. Secondly, mpreg - no. Just no. I also hate Twilight. I'm sorry if you like it, but I really can't stand it. I've read the first two books and could not physically make myself continue. Apart from that, anything goes, although I don't tend to read non-canon very much - why tamper with perfection? Heh.

About Me:

I'm 22, I'm female, I live in south-east England and I graduated from a Welsh university in 2008 with a degree in zoology. I don't have a job at the moment and I'm not quite sure what I want to do with my life. I plan to expand this part of my profile someday. If there's anything else you'd like to know about me, just ask.

Completed Works:

Teacher: Wild Magic, by Tamora Pierce, rewritten from Numair's perspective. Awarded fourth place in the Knighthood of Ficship Summer 2009 competition.

Power: Wolf-Speaker, by Tamora Pierce, rewritten from Numair's perspective. Awarded second place in the Knighthood of Ficship Summer 2009 competition.

Divine Intervention: Emperor Mage, by Tamora Pierce, rewritten from Numair's perspective. Nominated for the Knighthood of Ficship Winter 2009 competition - voting not yet open.

Lost & Found: Realms of the Gods, by Tamora Pierce, rewritten from Numair's perspective. Nominated for the Knighthood of Ficship Winter 2009 competition - voting not yet open.

Works in progress:

Tamora Pierce: A collection of one-shots and missing scenes from between the books of the Immortals series. A few isolated stories set after Realms of the Gods. Maybe some stories about Arram's time at university and how he arrived in Tortall and became Numair, but I'm less confident about that - it's going to need work.

Trudi Canavan: The High Lord (and part of The Novice) written from Akkarin's point of view; this needs a great deal of work. I had written about half of it, but looking back I don't like the writing and in some places I'm not happy with my grasp of his character. It will be finished eventually. After that, I want to try my own take on the 'what-if-Akkarin-didn't-die' theme that is so popular in this fandom, but it will depend on whether or not I can come up with something I'm happy with.

Harry Potter: An unnamed AU fic set after Deathly Hallows that may or may not be going anywhere. Mostly I'm just annoyed that Snape had to die, because he was always by far my favourite character, so I'm tentatively trying a story where he survives. This is lower down on my list of priorities because I'm not sure where I'm going with it, but I don't intend abandoning it just yet. It may actually turn into a Snape/Hermione story; I've recently got really into this pairing for some reason after finding a couple of stories that actually make it work.
