I'm a huge Transformers G1 fan, and I also enjoyed the live action movies for their interesting adaptions or good ol' action. However, you'll find I have little knowledge of Beast Wars, Robots in Disguise, the Unicron Trilogy, etc. I've seen a few episodes here and there, but the CGI or voice acting tends to distract me. I've recently started watching TFA, but I'm only halfway through the first season. Favorite movies and series: G1 (of course), Neon Genesis Evangelion, Dune, Chrono Crusade, Battlestar Gallatica (2003), Stargate SG1, Star Trek (any and all), Star Wars, and Escaflowne. Favorite pairings: Okay, so here's how it is: Transformers have a gender but no physical sex. They are shown using several forms of nonsexual and even asexual reproduction in both G1 and G2, not to mention the other universes. Obviously, therefore, slash is both impossible and illogical in this fandom, and so I won't tolerate flames from slash-haters. Also, since there aren't many canon pairs, I've decided to play around with the pairings a lot (I'm RPing a MiragexJazz story and brainstorming a ProwlxSides one). My Autobot OTP has become ProwlxJazz (or JazzxProwl--whatever), and my Decepticon OTP is MegatronxStarscream. That doesn't mean I won't pair the four characters with others, though. Still, my current favorite pairings are as follows: MiragexHound: "Healing of the Heart." ProwlxJazz: "No Quiet to Find" and "Firsts: Prowl and Jazz", plus a 'first love' story. MegatronxStarscream: "Sound and Fury" plus a sequel, "Masters of Fate" (working on chapter 2). RatchetxWheeljack: "Second Destiny" and "Firsts: Ratchet and Wheeljack". BluestreakxWheeljack: "Magic and Loss." On Transformer reproduction as understood in my fanfics: My take on how it all works was created by combining G1 (the cartoon's building method and the Marvel comic's Creation Matrix method), G2's budding, and the fan fave of spark-merging. For an in depth description, see chapter 2 of my story "No Quiet to Find." As it seems to be the fan trend, I apply retroactive canon in portraying the All Spark as being ultimately the same as the Creation Matrix. I also go ahead and do retcon for the laser cores and call them sparks. I may or may not continue this trend in upcoming stories. Units of time as used in my fics (source is TFwiki): Astrosecond: .498 seconds; Nano-klik: 1 second; Klik: 1.2 minutes; Breem: 8.3 minutes; Joor: @ an hour; Orn: @ a day; Solar cycle: also @ a day; Stellar cycle: @ one year; and Vorn: 83 years. Continuities in my stories: I have two major continuities in my stories. Continuity 1: Post-TFTM AU In this continuity, several Autobots are temporarily instead of permanently deactivated in the ship ride and attack on Autobot City. Prowl, Ratchet, and Wheeljack are reactivated after significant repairs (and why not? since when can TF be killed in one blast? or for that matter, get permanently offlined by one blast in either the Marvel comics or G1 cartoon?). Some events from season 3 are included, such as Optimus Prime's return, while others are altered or ignored. The stories in this continuity may be set before, during, or after the movie and include "No Quiet to Find," "A Second Destiny," and "Firsts: Red Alert and Inferno." Continuity 2: Season 2, veering off This continuity begins in season 2 and is not AU, but any sequels or epilogues set in the 21st century will have veered AU due to the events in the stories.
