Author has written 3 stories for Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter, and Fruits Basket. First off, let me begin by stating my faith. I am a Christian. And those that know me understand when I say that I am stubborn and argumentative (just a few of my MANY downfalls) to the point that I'm surprised that I'm not a redhead no offense intended for any red heads reading this; I'm being stereotypical. My best friend, the very talented author "Ilonwy" (check out her story... it's wicked awesome!!), is one of the very few people outside of my family that I feel safe to go to if need be for ANYTHING! (It's amazing to have such wonderful, God-given friends.) Basically, I'm your average, ordinary southern girl. My favorite things to do are hang out with my friends, walk through the back roads of my hometown, write, read, sing, and dance. I am a book-worm! Anyone who knows me can testify to that statement. I love kids and am very active in the Children's Ministry in my church. I'm also like most girls. I enjoy hearing love stories and imagining anything romantic (despite my growing up with three brothers and NO sisters!) But that fact must have had some bearing on me because the women that are my heros are the one's that do not need a man in their lives. They're strong and independent. But, by the grace of God, their heart is softened into one that is able to trust and accept a love that God has granted them. (Hence, the theme of my story, All Is Fair In Love And War.) Narnia is one of my favorite series of books and movies. I am an Edmund fan (obviously). Harry Potter is another favorite of mine. I hate it when authors involve these themes in their stories: incest (that's just gross), homosexuality (once again... EWW!), things that are too descriptive (if you know what I mean; I don't want to know every detail of what the characters are doing when they're alone!), a pairing between two characters that DON'T belong together (ex. Susan and Caspian, Hermione and Snape, Hermione and Harry, etc.), characters having sex before marriage (I don't approve of that in my personal life or in a character's life either!), extreme language (I'm just out of the habit of cursing and I don't need to be reading things that have bad language in it only to have me end up back in it especially if it's an interesting story), or perverted thoughts (I don't want to read about how great a character thinks the other character's butt looks). I also don't like crossovers. They're too confusing for me. They also tend to change the character's mind set and personality to a greater degree than what should be allowed. If you haven't gotten it already, I'm very picky about what I read. But the bright side is, there are people out there that write amazing stories that don't involve the things I listed. Thank you to those of you that agree with me and will help readers like me to be able to have stories that are within our preferences. God bless you all! | |||||||
