Author has written 10 stories for Lord of the Rings, and Silmarillion. I'm not so good at this profile thing. Basically, I hit 50 in November without coming up with a suitable midlife crisis. I tried raising three kids, even took them on a trip around the world a few years ago, but neither seemed off the wall enough make a midlife crisis of epic proportions. I tried teaching as an education adjuct at a couple of the universities around here, tried writing sheltered English textbooks for some of the big national publishers. tried baking bread for my family five days a week. I put in two new gardens and planted over a thousand bulbs in my front yard (a trick since we live in the city and I'd already installed ten trees). I even got my youngest a kitten (boy was she surprised when we said Yes to another animal!). But, you know, a midlife crisis should propogate some really off the wall twist on your life. At any rate I finally decided to try my hand at writing fantasy fiction. Now when I tell folks what I'm about I get that delightful raising of eyebrows and vague smiles that indicates 1. I am doing something totally out of character and 2. That they really hope I won't force them to read my stuff. I love it! - and that's where this fanfiction site comes in, because part of the subversive enjoyment I get from writing is getting feedback from readers and lurkers like yourself.
