| T'Key'la |
Author has written 24 stories for StarTrek: The Original Series, and Star Trek: 2009. First and foremost, thanks to everyone who has reviewed and/or "favorited" my stories. Feedback/acknowledgement is the nectar of the gods for writers, one we all wish to drink from deeply and often!! Otherwise, this whole profile thing has me a little befuddled. When I read some of the other profiles, I think "oh my, that seems to be a little TMI." Then I'll go to a writer's page and there won't be any info on their profile and I'll think "hmm...what does this writer have to hide?" Besides which, I am notoriously indecisive. I think. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I am. And I'm way too easily influenced by the opinions of others. (Of that I am quite certain.) I guess what I mean is that I don't know how much is too little or too much to share about myself because no one has ever told me what to do. Yeah, I'm that girl. Gemini through and through! So, what about me? T'key'la is obviously not my real name. Because I have to have a job in the real world. That real job is working in higher education. I'm a staff member, not an instructor. I do have a degree in English but not an advanced degree that is required to teach. I have been writing for more years than a lot of the readers of my stories have been alive. I was born after dirt and before the internet. I love the characters of Star Trek, the Original Series. I also grooved on The Next Generation. I have always loved the way the characters interact and how they are each an important part of the whole. The other Trek shows passed me by. I'm not too crazy about the TOS movies. But I am all about the 2009 movie. And OMG how cute is that Captain Kirk?? Granted, I'm old enough to be his mother - yes really. But he is still some serious eye-candy. And I mean that in a good way!! Outside of this obsession, I am a huge fan of classic rock, Shakespeare, Pepsi, Macs, iPhones, banana pudding, ice cream, coffee, making quilts, dancing (though I'm really bad at it), my dogs, naps, football, shoes, coloring, Disney, Star Wars (the original 3), my friends and family. If there is something else about me which you are especially interested in knowing, private message me and I'll answer if it won't utterly mortify us both. And I do know the chances of anyone asking me anything are very slim. I'm okay with that. I think. Yeah. I'm pretty sure!! Thanks for sticking with me this long. "Random Thoughts" - A friend sent me this and it made me LOL - really! 1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die. 2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong. 3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger. 4. There is great need for a sarcasm font. 5. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet? 6. Was learning cursive really necessary? 7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood. 8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died. 9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired. 10. Bad decisions make good stories. 11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day. 12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection.. .again. 13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page research paper that I swear I did not make any changes to. 14. "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this -- ever. 15. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Damn it!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What'd you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away? 16. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste. 17. I think the freezer deserves a light as well. 18. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call. | |||||||||||||||
