Author has written 17 stories for Harry Potter.

Myself: I am middle-aged, with a husband, and two grown sons.

The Series: Books 1-12. I hadn't heard the word fanfiction until I'd completed my own Book 5, and read no others until after Book 12. They therefore bear no influence aside from J. K. Rowling's books 1-5. The first 9 books of my series are sequential, but books 10, 11 & 12 overlap, from different points of view. They can be read and hopefully enjoyed without reading the earlier books.

BOOKS 10, 11 & 12: Historically, a more powerful people will always take advantage of their lesser neighbours. The Khatabi family of Morocco keeps an enclosure of beautiful muggle girls, and the occasional boy. They are for sex while they're young, and for use as subjects for spell-practice when they're not as desirable. Influenced by the great wizard, once known as Harry Potter, now known as Bellamy, Zhor and Najia Khatabi set out to change this practice, and to make the Arabic wizarding world more civilised. Bellamy marries them, and helps in the endeavour. Thanks to Bellamy, Zhor and Najia, the slaves are rescued, and need to make new lives. BOOK 10 is called 'The Family Khatabi, Changing Direction.' It is from the POV mostly of Zhor (or Zoe) Khatabi, and also from the POV of some of the Khatabi slaves. Book 11 is from the POV of Bellamy, (Harry) and BOOK 12 is from the POV of Valencio Durano, one of the slaves. These books overlap, and therefore there are incidents in common, and some repetition. There is also a lot that is different. Note that BOOK 11 follows on directly from BOOK 9, while BOOK 10 actually starts around 50 yrs prior to BOOK 11.

BOOK 7: The Dementors: This story was written before HBP, and information about Dementors provided by J. K. Rowling in her Books 6 & 7, are not taken into account.

Terms used: Language and terminology change with time and fashion. In the Potter world as I wrote it, Wizardkind has always been Anirage, but the term was seldom used when Harry Potter was young. The ancient language is Aniragi. Some spell incantations are in 'Old Aniragi.' (A good thing to note if you want to write HP fanfiction, but have no Latin.) A wizard area is an Aniragia, and wizards and witches are Ani and Ania, respectively. Muggles are Medj, or Medjkind, and Squibs are Cam-medj. As time passes, the Ministry of Magic becomes known as the 'DMT,' the Minister is the Dachier, and the AOCWN is formed, - the Association of Civilised Wizarding Nations. These are my own invented terms. If others want to borrow them, feel free. No attribution is necessary as far as I'm concerned.

Other stories:

The stories not in my original series were written after I started reading other fanfiction, and show the influence. For instance, in Canon, Dumbledore is the wise old Leader of the Light. Only in the last book is there any indication that he was not all good, always. However for a wise man, he made many amazingly stupid errors, and I find him a much more satisfying Baddy. "Manipulative Dumbledore,' even 'Evil Dumbledore' is common in fanfiction. I have also accepted the 'Fanon' convention that the Potters were an old and wealthy pureblood family. There are other things in fanfiction I have not accepted, such as the frequent use of Glamours. It seems to me that if Glamours were so easy to do, every witch would be beautiful, every wizard handsome.

My creations in these stories: I don't mind if people use the 'Creatures' I've invented, the terms I've used, or original characters I've used. I would prefer they stay faithful to what I have said, and will provide further description if asked. Aside from those provisos, feel free to use what you want. No attribution is necessary.

HECATEMUS: This story was inspired by 'The Gold Tinted Spectacles' by Beren, who has kindly given me approval to use her concept. It was one of the first fanfiction stories I read, and I was very impressed. The concept of the 'Hecatema Chase,' however, is mine. There are other differences. Hecatemae are also spoken of in 'The Marked Child of Light.'

THE MARKED CHILD OF LIGHT. For those who disliked the ending of this story, I've written a different ending. The alternative story is called 'The Fractured Bond' and can be found on the site, 'The Unknowable Room.' My pen-name there is also Marj123. The significant variations start at Ch 18, so just start reading there if you choose. (I'd make a link if I knew how.)

OTHER STORIES:

A sequel to Sacrifice & Demter Guardian? I'm working on it, about 40,000 words so far, and the interesting stuff is barely starting. This will be more suitable for adult readers, not because there is sex, (there's hardly any) but because the magical world in this series is a world where Muggles are viewed as of minimal importance. There is hypocrisy, enormous class consciousness and there is cruelty. There is magic of course, but aside from that, it is actually what I imagine would be reality if a population of wizards did exist among us. Harry regards Muggles as infinitely more civilised than wizards. He has come a very long way from the wide-eyed child trotting beside Hagrid on his first trip to Diagon Alley. Working title: Retribution.

The Story of Big Red: This is the chap mentioned in a couple of stories, who's spent most of his life in Azkaban. He is related to Harry. This story is scarcely at the ideas stage.

Writings about sex, pregnancy and childbirth. I seldom write sex unless it's relevant to the plot. Sometimes it is relevant. Pregnancy? Only females have children. To me, it still seems ludicrous that Mpreg is so common in fanfiction. As for childbirth, what on Earth is magic good for, if it can't make for painless childbirth?

ORIGINAL NOVELS. I have written a series of 3 original novels. They revolve about the character of Shuki Bolkiah, a modern day eunuch. The first is called 'Not a Man,' and is posted on FictionPress.com. I use the same pen-name as here, Marj123. Shuki is growing up in an un-named country of Arabia. The story commences when the boy is 10. He is a 'bed-boy,' and has a 'small operation' so that he will stay beautiful for his master. In spite of his dubious start to life, Shuki becomes a person to be respected. The story is his battle to overcome his early and continuing disadvantages, to become a person to be respected.

The second in the series is called, 'The King's Favourite,' and the third is called 'To Love and To Protect.'

I have also started a site for my father, called Merv McRae It is on Fictionpress.com. Mervyn Alexander McRae was born 27th November, 1914, died 2nd July, 1997.

“But Sir,” is his autobiography, written 1986. He was brought up in the 1930s Depression, one of 14 children. In adult life, he became a soldier, and then a POW of the Japanese, subject to starvation, ill-treatment, and disease.

The second book he published is called ‘On the Block: Rocks, Rabbits and Reptiles.’ It contains historical information on Soldier Settlement in the Western District of Victoria, Australia, post WW2.

Neither of these are available for purchase, no matter what some advertising sites are saying.

The third will only be of interest to those researching family history. It contains stories of growing up in a family of fourteen. It was written by the sons and daughters of Sophie McRae, (nee Marchment) and Duncan Alexander McRae.

WARNING: If you google Marj123, you will find a lot of entries that have nothing to do with me, and some that are merely advertising, though apparently based on my page here, or at least started in the same month. I've heard they do that to celebrities, but hadn't expected an unpublished author to be a target. This, plus the fictionpress author page, are my only pages. I cannot be contacted through a 'forum' of advertising.
