Author has written 6 stories for Beyblade, and Harry Potter.

Evening.

My name's Melissa, but you can call me Mel. Or Melissa. I sort of love being called Melissa now.

Just quickly, about myself.

I study teaching, majorying in literature and history. If anyone's seen Dead Poet's Society, i long to truly be worthy of the title of "Captain". I want to be that teacher you remember not because they were boring, or, annoying, or terrible, but because they were amazing and inspiring and made you want to learn.

I'm 18, lazy, imaginative and bored.
I live in Perth, in Western Australia.
I don't do bugs, specifically spiders.
I am Italian. My whole family is basically loud and insane, and pretty much your stereotypical Italian family.
My spelling is terrible, try as i might to fix it.
I enjoy hanging around with my friends, and eating copius amounts of food with said friends.
I'm big on playing Ps2 and i love watching movies.
My favourite movies are; "Looking For Alibrandi", "The Lion King", "The Notebook", "Spirited Away", "Dead Poet's Society", "Moonstruck", "LOTR 1, 2 and 3" "Sin City", "Igby Goes Down". and way too many more to mention.
I dislike summer. Greatly. In fact, i loathe it with the core of my being.
Music is wonderful. It quite possibly one of the only things that makes any sense to me. My favourites include: The Smiths, Jeff Buckley, The Smashing Pumpkins, Morrissey, Bright Eyes, Tegan and Sara, The Decemberists, Architecture in Helsinki, Blur, Maximo Park, Regina Spektor, Angus and Julia Stone, Kings of Leon, Taking Back Sunday, The White Stripes, Interpol and many, many more.

Life can truly be beautiful.
I can be an extremely pleasant person. Emphasis on the "can be".
I'm probably one of the most sarcastic people you'll ever meet
I am what you would refer to as a "hopeless romantic"
I swear alot.
I sleep in.
I live.

I love to read and write, i don't think i could comfortably live if i couldn't write.

I really, really love Buffy The Vampire Slayer. I think it might actually be the best tv show ever. I think it might be one of the greatest things ever.

I am also a self-confessed geek. I can happily spend a whole day watching anime dvds, series of Buffy or simply gaming.

Fantasy fiction is the basically the best, though i've come to appriciate some of the classics (though, i loathe Charles Dickens because i think he's just a misogynistic fool. Seriously, how's about the female characters in Great Expectations? They're all either crazy, violent or unable to love Pip. That man has mummy-issues. Also, Mary Shelley's Frankenstien can stay the HELL away from me.). The Harry Potter's are prettymuch my all time favourite books. It was totally the end of an era for me when i finished the 7th. Sigh. My other favourites include;

Interview With The Vampire- Anne Rice (possibly the most influential, or at least the second most influential, Vampire novel of all time. Well, probably the second-most, seeing as the foremost would be Dracula).

Oh, and who can forget my dear, dear Lord of the Rings? Tolkien's non-fictional stuff, well, you should really avoid that if you'd like to avoid a headache, but you've just got to appriciate the EPIC(yes, EPIC in capitals)NESS(yes, NESS too,) of LOTR. I mean, it takes Frodo something ridiculous like 17 years to leave the Shire. And all the poetry is beautiful, and the history and culture of the world is so rich and engrossing. And i love the environmentalist message in it too.

Eragon/Eldest
Almost anything written by Tamora Pierce
Twilight/New Moon/ Eclipse, yadda yadda yadda i love Stephenie Meyer.
His Dark Materials triology.
Garth Nix is good too. All Garth Nix. He is amazing and wonderful.

Harry/Hermione shippers scare me. Word.

Some of my other favourite books are:

The Catcher In The Rye (this is my other, all-time, non-fantasy favourite novel) by JD Salinger
I Am The Cheese- Robert Cromier
The Collector- John Fowels
Making The Run- Heather Henson
Looking For Alibrandi and Saving Francesca- Melina Marchetta
Pretty Things- Sarra Manning
The Watcher- James Howe
Willow Tree and Olive- Irini Savvides

I like a lot of plays and musicals are good too. William Shakespeare is my homeboy.

Writing poetry is my first love. I have a collection of original poems that vary from terrible to passable and i'm working on creating better, more interesting pieces of art.

I am what i am, and all i want is freedom.

If you need to contact me, it's best to get me through my myspace because i always forgot to check my emails. It's: www.myspace.com/melzypoo11

peace.
