Author has written 8 stories for Backyardigans, Shrek, and Dragon Hunters/Chasseurs de dragons.

"Being weird is like being normal, only much better."

"The very first step towards success in any occupation is to become interested in it."- Sir William Osler

"Truth is stranger than fiction, because fiction has to make sense."- Leo Rosten

"Plot: It's not just a bunch stuff that happens." - How Not to Write a Novel

Friend: Quick! You have to go save the world!
Me: Oh no, not while The Backyardigans are on!

Katy-Kale likes to watch old British sitcoms, and is also interested in a CGI children's show called 'The Backyardigans'.

In fact, I have made a blog that revolves mainly on the show. You can see it as my homepage.

I'm really interested in animations.

During my spare time I like to read fantasy novels, and how-to make animation books and speculate about what it was like to live in the Middle Ages (my favorite setting in stories). My favorite computer game is 'Neverwinter Nights'. I also love to draw and animate.

In case you don't know, my avatar image is a drawing I made of me in my chicken form (In comics, I draw myself as a chicken because they're one of my favorite animals).

I love getting reviews! :) They are greatly appreciated.

I apologize for sometimes updating slowly. I will never abandon a fanfic story, so just hang in there.

Petition for a Season 5 of The Backyardigans:

According to Dave Palmer, the director of The Backyardigans, on his blog: http://www.bydavepalmer.com/about/biography/, "The Backyardigans recently wrapped production on its fourth and final season", meaning that we may never see a fifth season of this great show. :(

Some of the members on this fan-forum: http://backyardiganfans.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=1256&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=45, have started a petition to convince Nick Jr. to create a Season 5. So far, in the short time of three weeks, over 40 people have signed this petiton.

I personally think that this is a great show that can have many more imaginative episodes. It just needs the strong support of its fans.

You can sign the petition here: http://www.petitiononline.com/s54fab5/petition.html, You can also help the support by posting the link to it on your journal. Remember: Letting people know that this petition exists is half the battle won. Thank you.

If you think signed reviews should have the option to be deleted go to this link: http://www.fanfiction.net/topic/2872/6030605/1/ Put "Me too" and your UserID if you agree. Spread the word too! Copy and paste this on your profile.

I am planning some other fanfics, so please be patient. Here is a list of them in order of priority (the top being the top priority). I don't want to give too much away, but I am making blueprints for the following (shown in no particular order):

10 More Backyardigan stories (one of them is a parody)

1 'Sitting Ducks' story (Misc. Cartoons)

1 'Keepsake' story (Misc. PC Game)

1 More 'A Small Crime' story (Misc. Misc)

1 'Dino Run' story (Misc. PC Game)

1 'Neverwinter Nights' story (PC Game)

A note on writing:

Like movies, fanfics are finally, centrally, crucially, and primarily only about story.

This does not say that I don't care about how many special effects a film has, but you had better give a hoot about that Knight's adventures, his battle against his foes, you had better want him to win, you had better be locked into his travels by the seat of your shorts, or the fanfic is just waste of time which you could be using for other more meaningful tasks.

Fanfics must tell a compelling story or they stop existing in our minds. Stanley Kubrick (a popular director) once said this: "A good story is a miracle." By a good story he meant, oh, maybe something with an interesting premise that develops logically and builds to a satisfying and surprising climax.

Do you know how hard that is?

It just kills us, people who try to storytell for a living. We all want our readers to like our story, so that they won't turn away from us with the writer's equivalent of scorn, which is boredom.

That is one of the reasons why fanfics can be easier on us writers. We are expanding works that have been created by other authors, instead of trying to create an entire story from scratch, which is difficult. Not so much because there are so little choices to write your story about, but because there are so many choices.

Consider this: A piano keyboard consists of 7 notes (do, ray, me, fa, so, la, te, doe) that repeats itself several times, going higher and higher along the keyboard. Using these seven notes, composers have written hundreds and hundreds of different songs that can all be played using the same keyboard. Considering that, there are so many different things you can write a story about: Animals as the main characters, people as the main characters, etc. And so many genres that you can use: Fantasy, romance, humor, adventure, all of the above, etc.

So, what will your story tell?

WARNING: Some stories may contain High-Octane Humor. Hilarity may ensue.
