6/10/13 - Update: Post-Op Day 3 and what a treat! So painful and the cast is itchy and everything hurts! Hope to start writing soon though, just not right away!
5/17/13 - Status update:
I've been getting PM's and notes in reviews so I've added a note to some of my fics to tell my readers and I will reiterate it here that yes, all fics will be finished and I am writing. Thank you all for the continuing favoriting and following, and for your reviews. They mean more than you know.
As some of you know, I had a huge health scare, and between October and February was sidetracked with that, having to have gyn surgery in January along with unnecessary medical treatment with serious side effects. I've made no secret that I'm not in great health, nor that I am not young, and these past two years now since dealing for months on end with a terrible MRSA infection (a surgeon left something he shouldn't during surgery leading to an abscess), it has been one thing after another.
Thinking I was in the clear after this latest crisis was averted, I was making some plans for the year, only to turn around to find I have another health issue. I am working with a head and neck surgeon and will be having surgery in June. Not looking forward to this, these things are always painful from what I remember from clinical practice.
I'm hoping things will change once I have my surgery in early June... but for now my head and heart just isn't always in my writing, and I refuse to just post something for the sake of it, but there are bits and pieces completed, including much of the rest of Double Take and Domestic. Plus remember, I'm a grown up with mom responsibilities and a household to run. I wish I had more time, but all the free time I could have been writing this month went to tax preparation.
But please hang in there with me, I will be updating soon!
My name is Star of Airdrie and I've been on FanfictionNet for almost four years now. I'm a hardcore RobStar shipper and Teen Titans is my fandom, although I did branch out into Young Justice for one story. I write a lot of long AU's which I invite you to read, but if it's not your thing, that's fine; I've had fun writing them.
I live in the US where the Revolutionary War turned in favor of the Americans with my husband, son, and our Basenjis. Yes, I'm a grown up... or one of the 'creepy old people' as I kid about the more than a handful of us that are here past legal drinking age. I'm a stay at home mom now, but I found my calling as a hospice/palliative care nurse; before that I was in academia and worked in the corporate world, plus I've worked in restaurants and on farms of and on for most of my life. I love politics, history, antiques, reading, gardening, sewing, cooking, anything to do with horses and horse sports, the Penn Quakers and all sorts of things.
If you ever need plot advice on the subjects of medicine, nursing, law or business, or nearly anything, you'll find I'm often a much better resource than Wiki and if I can I'll be happy to help.
My Avatar is a called A Starry Night. The artist is The Black Cat. She's the brilliant artist/writer behind 'Batman and Sons' and her work can be found on deviantArt, including her commissioned pieces. This one was commissioned myself in 2010 and has been cropped to become my icon. It is not to be duplicated please.

Star of Airdrie - my pen name is taken from Jaroufa's Star of Airdrie. Stella was our first puppy to carry our Kennel name. We miss her dearly.
I found out later that the Town of Airdrie in Scotland has as its town motto, Vigilantibus, which means "Forever Watchful". I found that rather fitting
