Author has written 11 stories for Pokemon, and Xenosaga.

Hello, and welcome to Aiselne’s fanfiction. Your authoress’ fanfiction is broken into two halves: Pokemon and Xenosaga stories. Generally, my specialties are drama and/or humor, with occasional dabbles into horror and spin-offs (with hints of romance for a good measure). I sincerely hope you enjoy and review my stories. My updates are usually weekly.

(Featured Avatar – Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles – “Carnage Necropolis” tribute)

UPDATE (11-17-09)

Newest Chapter Posting(s):
Carnage Necropolis – Chs.10+11 (story approx. 80 percent complete)

Most Recently Completed Project: Fearless and Fluffy
Special thanks to everyone who read and reviewed the completion of “Fearless and Fluffy”!

NOTICE: Aiselne’s November & December 2009 Updates
To be expected, I will be focusing on finishing “Carnage Necropolis” in the near future. CN has surpassed its (approximate) halfway point. As I’ve informed some readers, I’m hoping to complete CN in late-November, or early-December at the latest (baring unforeseen life crises that tend to rear their ugly heads at inopportune times. – In the event this does happen, and CN has to be put on hold/hiatus, I will inform readers via PMs or will post notices here on my profile). As of this moment, I’m not planning on working on any other major projects (for either of my fandoms) until CN’s completion. The only other “possible” stories I might release alongside CN would be a spur of the moment one-shot or a significantly short story (these do tend to crop up when a writer least expects them). Otherwise, don’t expect too much from Aiselne until CN is finished.

POKEMON FANFICTION

Stories: My Pokemon fanfics are nostalgic. Most, but not all, of my fics resemble “lost episodes” of seasons long past, namely because I prefer the older seasons of the Pokemon anime (aka when Misty was still around). Since Ash (Satoshi) is my favorite character, the majority of my stories star him being his typically dense/cute self. Misty and Max are other favorites of mine who commonly get the spotlight whenever I’m not gushing over Sato-Chan. Ash and Delia’s mother-son relationship also significantly piques my interest. Fair warning: I am also an avid Wobbuffet fan (of all things), so you can expect the lovable blue blob getting some cameo in many of my stories.

Shipping: I’m dominantly a Pokeshipper (Ash/Misty), secondly a Rocketshipper (Jessie/James), and thirdly a Contestshipper (May/Drew). I've dabbled into other ships, too: Gymshipping (Misty/Brock), Parentshipping (Mr. & Mrs. Ketchum), Crushshipping (Ash/May Oak), Penguinshipping (Dawn/Kenny), Eldershipping (Delia/Professor Oak), Ikarishipping (Dawn/Paul), and (what I call) Cuddleshipping (Pikachu/Buneary), as I haven’t found an official ship for it yet.

Aiselne’s Pokemon Fanfics: (5)
Because You Loved Me – Mother’s Day tribute to the adorable Ash and Delia Ketchum
Carnage Necropolis – Ash has visited some weird places, but a zombie-filled city takes the cake!
It’s Her Party, and She’ll Cry If I Mess It Up – Subtitled: Ash, Terminator of Birthday Parties
Nothing But Lies – Rumors are powerful, but family is stronger (~Aiselne’s first Pokemon fic~)
With Sugar On Top – The fluffy results of mixing a sugar-high Ash with a fiery Misty

XENOSAGA FANFICTION

Stories: I’m a Jr. (Rubedo) fan, first and foremost. Thus, my stories are usually about anything/anyone relating to the gun-slinging redhead, including the U.R.T.V.s (Albedo, Nigredo, etc.) and the Kukai Foundation (Mary, Shelley, etc.). I’m also keenly fascinated by the Red Dragon mode. Outside my Jr. obsession, I adore MOMO and characters relevant to her (Ziggy, Juli, etc.). Since I always seem to have some animal/mascot quirk about me, I also have an odd weakness for cameos of Bunnie, Gaignun (the cat), and the cute and cuddly Alby.

Pairings: Obviously via the above paragraph, my top pairings are Jr./Rubedo-related. I am rare fan of both Rubedo/Sakura and Jr./MOMO. Whenever I feel like taking a siesta from my Jr. fixation, I also like Ziggy/Juli, Shion/Allen, and Miyuki/Togashi. I also have a significant fascination with Rubedo and Albedo. Personally, I consider my Rubedo/Albedo stories (except “Fearless and Fluffy”) lean closer to brotherly love than yaoi/twincest, but I have no problem if readers consider my Rubedo/Albedo stories shonen ai (since I do support the pairing).

Aiselne’s Xenosaga Fanfics: (6)
Fearless and Fluffy – Lovesick little boys mixed with a potential ghost: such a fun combination!
I’m Right Here – Even perpetually levelheaded Shelley Godwin deserves a moment of anxiety
Mistaken Identity – Jr. and Gaignun slept together, or did they? Meow! Hehe.
PATHOS – A twisted and nightmarish Red Dragon drama (~Aiselne’s first Xenosaga fic~)
Unspoken – Because Jr. was not the only brother affected by Albedo’s life and death
You Count Sheep, I’ll Count To Ten – Someday Jr. and Albedo will get along, just not tonight.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Some did-you-know about me you probably don’t-care-to-know (then again, why else would you be reading this?).

Pen Name: Aiselne Phoenix Nocturnus (you can call me “Aiselne” for short)
Age/Sex: 21-year-old female
Inspiration: psychology, mythology/folklore, profundity, the ocean, music

Style: I consider my stories “bipolar.” My fanfics tend to be one extreme or the other: either very dark/dramatic or cute/comical. Thus, most of my stories are categorized as drama or humor (my favorite is drama). I also have a sincere love for horror and occasionally I dabble into parodies/spin-offs.

Common Characteristics of My Stories: Generally, in my fanfics you’ll find…
- Argumentative relationships
- Boys that are dense, cute, lovesick, and/or loudmouthed (hehe)
- Characters that are mentally unstable or undergo emotional turmoil
- Dreams and premonitions (particularly nightmares and/or flashbacks)
- Family-related issues and scenarios
- Fiery redheads, both male and female (sex depends on which fandom you’re reading)
- Humor that is either cute/fluffy, crude, or sexy
- Nauseating elements: either fluffy romance or grisly violence
- Enemies that are relatives of the protagonist, and/or the protagonist is his/her own enemy
(I thrive off Parasite Eve’s tagline: “The worst foe lies in the self”)

About the Pen Name: To make things easy, you can just call me “Aiselne.”

There’s a lengthy and odd story behind my pen name. Simply, the three parts of my name represent three elements of my fanfics: “Aiselne” mirrors my writing style, “Phoenix” represents my Pokemon fanfics, and “Nocturnus” represents my Xenosaga fanfics.

“Aiselne” is derived from “Aiselne Drossel,” Tira's weapon in the SoulCalibur III video game. The weapon, itself, is a giant chakram (ring blade) that resembles a bladed hula-hoop. Although I don’t write SoulCalibur fanfiction, I’m an avid fan of the games, and I found Tira's personality best alludes my writing style. She, like my stories, fluctuates between being playful and being very dark. The Aiselne Drossel can be considered two-sided, too: one side is smooth and another is sharply bladed. Technically, “aiselne” is a mistranslation of “eiserne,” German for “iron” later corrected in SoulCalibur IV, but I grew so fond of “aiselne” I never bothered to change it (I was actually well aware of the mistranslation long before its correction). I take a weird sense of pride in knowing my pen name is actually a mistranslated nonsense word.

Essentially, “Aiselne Phoenix Nocturnus” is two pen names in one. “Aiselne Phoenix” is my pen name for my Pokemon fics, referencing the beautiful phoenix-like Pokemon Ho-Oh (mythological creatures, like the phoenix, have always inspired my writings). “Aiselne Nocturnus” is my Xenosaga pen name, derived from my favorite Tech Attack of my favorite character: Jr.’s Mystic Nocturne (music is another source of my inspiration). Since “Aiselne” technically has no meaning, “Phoenix Nocturnus” loosely means “Phoenix of the Night.”

Fanfiction History: I’ve actually been a fanfiction enthusiast since 2004, but I only mustered the courage to join FanFiction.Net in 2009. I never thought anyone other than myself and a few friends would be interested in my fanfics. (I’ve been told I have acquired tastes in drama and humor). In retrospect, I’ve realized my stories serve a much better purpose on this website, rather than being exclusive to the eyes of me and a few friends. My only regret is not realizing this sooner.

Miscellaneous: My hobbies include writing, drawing/designing, and playing RPGs & Survival Horror video games. My quirks are collecting rubber ducks (of all things) and retro PlayStation (One) games. Reading bad horror novels and watching bad-er horror movies are my guilty pleasures, along with watching anime, Pixar films, and re-runs of classic TV shows.

Favorite Video Game Series: Xenosaga, Pokemon, Resident Evil, Parasite Eve, Legacy of Kain, Final Fantasy, Devil May Cry, God of War, SoulCalibur, Tekken, Okami, Tomb Raider, Guilty Gear, Dragon Quest, Silent Hill, Dino Crisis, Prince of Persia, Fire Emblem, and Tecmo’s Deception (seriously, has anyone aside me heard of that series?)

Favorite Anime/Manga Series: Pokemon, Evangelion, Tenchi Muyo, Armitage III, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Excel Saga, Dual, Sailormoon, Battle Athletes, Xenosaga: The Animation, Ah! My Goddess, Shamanic Princess, Pretear, Alien Nine, Naruto, Love Hina, (and everything from Hayao Miyazaki and/or Studio Ghibli)

REVIEWS

I do appreciate and read all of my reviews, since I use them to improve my work for readers’ benefits. Please submit negative comments as constructive criticism. Don’t waste your time by sending flames unless they 1.) specify a story’s problem, and 2.) provide suggestions for improvement. Critics cannot expect any author to improve without steering him/her in a better direction. Doing so will help me as a writer and lead to better reading experiences for you.

Sincerely, thanks very much to everyone who has taken an interest in my stories!
