It's now been a full year since my computer crashed, completely eating all of my files in the process and bringing my LOTR fic-writing to a screeching halt. I know a lot of people are waiting for the next chapters of The Weeping Wraith and Tales of the Jade King. I know I promised to finish them, and I probably will--eventually. TWW has tons of big plot holes that need fixing, and to be honest, my writing style has evolved a lot since I started writing that monster. I have a few ideas that would satisfactorily tidy it up, but it's a matter of finding the time, the energy, and quite frankly, the interest in doing so. My hobbies have expanded in all directions, and while I still adore Tolkien's work (The Silmarillion remains my favorite work of fantasy literature, ever), I can't seem to get my TWW gears greased up. In regards to Jade King, I had extensive research, planning, and entire sections written--all of which were lost when my computer crashed. I know exactly what I wanted to do, but as with TWW, I just haven't been able to regain the spark I need to get that ball rolling again. (Sincerest apologies to my co-author Treehugger, who's one of the finest ladies I've known. We'll have to catch up some time!) I hope you will all understand that the lack of updates doesn't mean that I don't care about my readership; I hate leaving you all in suspense with those horrid cliffhangers!
