Author has written 11 stories for Dresden Files, Sherlock, Village, Hawaii Five-0, Tron, Ironman, and Wing Commander. I'm older than I wish I was, living in Georgia, USA. I love detective stories/police procedurals (have been a huge Sherlock Holmes fan for decades; also love NCIS, the CSIs [tho I quit watching Miami after season 8 cause I hated what they did to the characters]), sci-fi/fantasy (Star Trek, Tron, Dragonriders of Pern, Harry Potter, among others), and medievalism (I'm a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism medieval re-enactor's organization). Also, I'm Neo-Pagan (also known as New Religious Movement by more politically correct pagans), having created my own tradition because none of the others coincides with my beliefs. And, by the way, I disagree with Political Correctness for 2 reasons: 1. Because it attempts to offend no one by making language so bland as to be meaningless (I'm sorry, but there's a reason "murder" is considered BAD, and calling it the "Arbitrary Deprivation of Life" so that "murder" doesn't hurt or offend anyone is an insult) - so I must ask, why bother to have language if it's going to be made meaningless? 2. Just because you force someone to be nice to a person they hate doesn't mean they now like the person. It just means they now resent the person on top of it. Hatred and bigotry can not be legislated out of existence, especially with the 1st Amendment to the Constitution in force. You can attempt to educate it away, but it will never be completely eliminated until all belief systems - religious or secular - that promote any type of good/evil agenda are eliminated. And that will never happen because 1. that pesky 1st Amendment again, and 2. because something that is "good" in one belief system may be "evil" in another. And now, I will get down off my soapbox. Thank you. | |||||||
