My thoughts about FORCED-SEX FANTASIES (for whatever it's worth):

Forced sex or rape fantasy is one of the most common of all female sexual fantasies. It is estimated that well over half of all women engage in sexual fantasies with coercion as a main element. Some people enjoy the feeling of sexual submission. However, there is a big difference between reality and fantasy. In the fantasy, the person who submits maintains their power. The act is within their acceptable boundaries and actually serves to satisfy their sexual needs.

There is nothing wrong with indulging in this as a fantasy while acknowledging the repulsiveness of the act of rape in real life. Believe me when I say, in reality rape is a cold, numbing, horrifying act. There is nothing arousing about it and nothing the rapist does will ever make it anything other than a painful and frightening experience. Believe me.

But the fantasy remains, potent and very enjoyable. My favorite fantasies combine elements of consent and non-consent. Having a completely contrived scene takes the element of control and submission away entirely and desexualizes it for me. But having a true rape scenario repulses me. It's a tricky line to walk.

About Into the Grey House:

Stephenie Meyer has stated many times that 'Twilight' was influenced by the classic novel 'Jane Eyre', the masterpiece that set the standard for gothic romance. I also see a lot of similarities between 'Twilight' and 'The Story of O', which is also considered a classic, but with a BDSM theme.

The similarity between 'Jane Eyre' and 'Twilight' is obvious. Both feature brooding, possibly dangerous heroes with secretive pasts. Both heroes fall for the regular, maybe even ordinary, girl. Most importantly, in both novels the hero finds his purpose for living, as well as his road to redemption, through the love he finds with the heroine.

The similarity with 'The Story of O' is no less obvious. Both stories are concerned with the power (and danger) of obsessive love. In 'The Story of O', the heroine, O, slowly, willingly, gives up every part of her identity, of herself, for her lover. So deep is her love (as well as her masochism) that there is nothing she wouldn't give up for him, even her life. And when he no longer wants her, she states that she would prefer death.

Just as with O, Bella wants to lose herself in her lover. She wants to give up her old (human) identity and lose herself in him and his (vampire) identity. She is willing to give up her life in order to be with him forever. And when she thinks he no longer wants her, she would prefer to die.

Into the Grey House takes the characters from 'Twilight', as well as the key plot events, and uses them to emphasize the similarities and common themes between the three novels. However, this story is more concerned with the theme of redemption through romantic love. It also looks at the desire to lose oneself in another and to, in effect, place oneself under their power, as a basic aspect of love.
