As of 05/11, I lost Internet and my email addie. I am on a low level mobile plan which gives me just enough bandwidth to scan through ff. I hope to update when I do get a new Internet acct at our new house in the boonies(satellite for the win).

Words Commonly Misused

1. Of and Off, Of means to be from, best used as follows. A lady of worth, the man of the west, a house of glass. Off means away from, removed or distant, or to stop. Best used as follows. Drove off in a new car, take it off the table, turn that off.

2. Through and Threw, these are one of the most mistreated words in fanfic ever. Through means passage from one point to another or from one side to another, best used as follows. She walked through the door, we're just passing through, succeeded through hard work. Threw is the past tense of throw, it means to propel or the action of flinging. Best used as follows. He threw her into a panic, she threw the ball.

3. Scarring and Scaring. Scarring is the present tense of scar. Scar means a mark left behind after injury. Unless you're writing about people getting physically injured or who have already been physically injured, pretty please do not use this term. Scaring is the present tense of scare. Scare means to frighten or startle. If you have a character spooking someone else, then they are scaring them, not scarring them.
