But I just finished my Master's degree a couple of weeks ago, and due to the related work involved in that, haven't been able to work on fanfiction.) As of today - Checkmate has had over 26,000 hits since chapter 8 was posted, and has 697 reviews. Huge hugs to all of you for that! 6/15/2006: Wow. Checkmate has been finished for 2 months now and I can't say thank you enough to everyone for their incredible response, reviews and lovely words about the ending, or the story as a whole.
