Author has written 2 stories for StarTrek: The Original Series. I'm a nineteen-year-old Trekkie who lives in central Pennsylvania and attends college in upstate New York. I've been into Star Trek since I was about six, when my dad introduced me to the animated series. I also love the X-files dearly. Now, just to give you an idea of who I'm most interested in writing and reading about, I'll list the characters from favorite to least-favorite. I realize that this is kind of pointless, but it is the kind of thing I wonder about other authors, and if I'm not alone, someone might actually care. Here goes: Spock, McCoy, Kirk, Scotty, Chekov, Uhura, Sulu, Chapel. Somehow, I didn't start liking Kirk until two or three years ago. Chekov was once one of my favorites, though I can't really remember why. I've never liked Chapel. The stories that I post on this site will most likely all be Star Trek, and will probably focus on the Big Three, their friendships, and plenty of adventure. I especially love to explore Spock and McCoy's relationship. I'm also one of those authors who likes to put her favorite characters through the wringer...if that wasn't already obvious. As far as shipping goes, well, I tend to avoid writing romance plots altogether - mostly because I just don't find it terribly interesting. I think that the relationships established in the show have plenty of depth to them already. And I do believe that serious, Platonic, Frodo-and-Sam-type love can be just as powerful as its romantic counterpart. That said, I read much more broadly than I write, including plenty of slash. I'm especially a sucker for stories featuring Spock and Bones, a healthy dose of danger, and insights into my favorite characters. Extra points go to anything that makes me tear up or changes the way I think about a particular character or universe. I try to review everything that holds my interest to the end, though every once in a while (if I really can't think of anything to say) I do join the horrible mass of lurkers. Sorry, world. I review because, as an author, I know how wonderful reviews can be- and usually are. I'm calling myself "author," but I believe I'm still learning to write. I realize that I'm liable to make mistakes. As such, I'll use this space to make a request: critical reviews, please! If you notice something you don't like, or if the whole story seems "off" for whatever reason, feel free to let me know. I'd love to work with your advice. And that said, I'd like to point out that I'm absultely grateful for all of the wonderful reviews I've recieved so far. You guys are amazing, and you really make my day. :) I have another, older account, that I no longer use. There, you'll find stories from several fandoms, including Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Friends, King Kong, and others. Though I abandoned it because all of the stories were written when I was sixteen or younger, and are of corresponding quality, people still seem to enjoy them and I didn't have the heart to delete the account. You can reach it by clicking on my "Homepage" link. 9/7/09 As of today, I'm sorry to say that Plain Sight is officially on hold. I had forgotten just how little time (or even space) I'd have to write at college and in the dorms. I do still plan to finish the story, though, and I will update as soon as I can. Thank you again for your patience. | |||||||||||
