About me as a writer:

1) How about a brief introduction of yourself?

In the online world, I'm known as Nahmae (or infinitemoonlight in ff.net). I have a hyperactive imagination and it’s the one who helps me in my writings. English is not my first language so sometimes (or always) I commit some mistakes and have some difficulties in using it.

2) Fabulous! And what got you into story/novel-writing to begin with?

Hmm... It's when I was in 3rd grade, inspired by some anime I watched, I started writing stories about them until I can't stop my imagination from overflowing so I decided to write and write and just write until I wrote a lot of stories. I don't know about the term “fanfiction” back then and all I wrote is originals, but I know I've written an Inu-yasha fanfic co-written with my cousin. Basically, I was just inspired by a lot of anime and my imagination.

3) I see, so what kind of story/novel do you like to write about? Why?

Before, I love writing about fantasy, you know, the typical save-the-world-with-magical-powers-and-weapons. Because of my overactive imagination. As a child, I describe the world as a mythical and mysterious place and maybe because of the anime I watched. Now, all I write is fan fiction. I don't have time to write originals anymore.

4) What type of characters do you normally have (for the protagonist)?

In my originals, the protagonist are always male… they sometimes have a bad past, or they can also be called “the misunderstood”. Some of my protagonists are nice and have a good heart, like a knight in shining armor.. something like that.

5) What is your most popular/largest story/novel project? Describe.

Hmm… in original, my largest would be “The Holy Amulet” been writing this one since 5th grade. It’s about 6 princes and princesses who were transferred into a mythical place where they should look for the holy amulet that could only save the world. I wrote it for a long time but I stopped when I was in my 2nd year high school. In fanfiction, it would be I Want My Mommy, it’s a Fullmetal Alchemist fanfic in which Roy Mustang founds out Riza Hawkeye has a son.

6) What is the story/novel you've written/writing that you are most proud of? Why?

The Holy Amulet (Original), I Want My Mommy (Fanfiction). Because I put all of my mind and my heart in these stories. “The Holy Amulet” helped me cope with my childhood dreams and fantasies while “I Want My Mommy” is helping me now in finding myself as a writer again.

7) Do you find writing easy? Hard? What are the most difficult aspects of writing you struggle with?

All I can say is it could be easy, it could be hard. But overall, it’s hard. I find difficulties when I want to write something but I just can’t because of lack of inspiration or when I’m not in the mood. I also find it hard to put some good adjectives to use in my stories. Lately, my stories are getting monotonous and flat.

8) Write a catchy intro on the spot NOW!

Footsteps can be heard in the dark cobblestoned tunnel. The moonless black sky is full of stars, twinkling endlessly in the night. A creature waited as the footsteps nears his spot, not taking his eyes away from the tunnel. He won’t wait for long. He knew the day had come, for the darkness would rise again and no one can stop them now this time.

9) Are there any story cliche that you are just sick of?

Hmm… well, maybe in fantasy, it’s always elves, ogres, elves and more elves. Can’t they think of other things? And yeah, the vampires… Whenever I go to the bookstore, what I always see are books about vampire stories. It’s not that I’m against it but again, can’t they think of other things?

10) Are you guilty of those cliches that you hate?

Well... I loved the Twilight saga. Haha. And I used to love fantasy stories (yeah, including elves)… So… maybe a little.

11) What would you call your writing style?

Uhm… the Nahmae writing style? Well, I have my own approach in writing… I have no idea what I would call my writing style. All I know is I’m not that good yet.

12) What type of story do you generally read?

All type of stories... From classic, sci-fi, true to life, anything.

13) What's the one thing you have always wanted to write but are too afraid/shy to?

Uhm… blush

14) Do you have trouble taking criticisms?

Sometimes when it’s too harsh…

15) When you write, is there anything that helps? (Music, food?)

I love listening to music when I’m writing, and of course, I love eating food, sweet foods like ice cream, cookies and brownies.

16) What inspires you?

Sometimes, an idea will just struck me… sometimes true to life events and sometimes, just anything. Well, basically, I love imagining... I also can get inspired by a story I read. When I read a good story I would say to myself I want to write and so I would write.

17) Laslty, how do you sum up your writer's career so far?

I never think of my writing as a career. I just love writing… But when I think about those years since I started writing, well, I could say that if I haven’t stopped for years and I didn’t got involved into a very personal thing that happened to me, maybe I would say I must have been successful. But now, all I can say is I need or want to improve. I feel blessed that I’m able to write again even though it’s only for fanfiction. Someday, I want to write originals again, or just continue writing those originals I just left behind.
