Note: Adolescente Amore has been deleted. I was just so ashamed of how poorly it was written, I couldn't bear to have it up and in the public eye any longer. However, I have plans to rework the story, fix the numerous characterization issues, and reupload it some time in the not so distant future. For now, I apologize to anyone who was a fan of the story. I can only hope that you'll like the new and, hopefully improved version of it, just as much.

Introspective is undergoing some edits. None of the alterations that I'm making will have any real effect on the plot of the story, itself. I just want to make sure that every character's personality is as closely aligned with the movies' canon as possible.

I am a writer. Whether or not I'm a talented one is for you, my readers, to decide.

I've dappled in other fandoms, but only one has managed to stick. It just so happens that this fandom is that of the goofy, cheesy, and often considered insufferable, High School Musical series. This is entirely due to the existence of the one and only Ryan Evans, and his unbelievable level of UST, that is, Unresolved Sexual Tension with the movies' lead male character, Troy Bolton. Since I will never forgive Disney for refusing to explore the perfect relationship between these two characters, I take it upon myself to bring Ryan and Troy together. As they should be.

I try my best to be a very open-minded individual, and I apply this to the reading of other people's work, as well. There are a few topics that just do not sit right with me while reading fanfiction, however, such as incest between parent and child, "twin"cest, bestiality, strange fetishes, and any type of abuse; physical, emotional, psychological, etc. that is supposed to be considered, "romantic".

If your story makes me think, I will be certain to give it a review that is, hopefully, well thought out.

In the twelfth century, homosexuals were burned alive, and endured unspeakable torture. Oscar Wilde, an amazing writer, and Leonardo da Vinci, a great scientific mind, were arrested for engaging in homosexual activity. Even today, in 2012, people's rights to express themselves are being limited by an unaccepting, ignorant world. Way back in the seventies, a courageous man named Harvey Milk, worked toward change, and today, 40 years later, we are a lot closer to seeing the change he wanted realized. However, a future where all sexualities and races are accepted and viewed as equal, is still a far off dream. We need to continue to follow in his footsteps, and footsteps of other great civil rights leaders, and take a stand. It's high time for the rest of the world to banish the mindset of those who lived during the Dark Ages.

So, in other words, to anyone who is actually ignorant enough to leave a comment on any of my stories, or the stories of any of my fellow authors, expressing their homophobia via an "Ewwwww! *insert character's name here* isn't gay! Why would you make them gay?!", or something of the like, please, don't be offended if I poke fun at you for being so primitive-minded.

Love is love no matter what form it's in, and, while I may not be capable of very much, I will work to do whatever I can to make the world that much more accepting of a place.

Couples that I support:

High School Musical: Yes, I know very well that these movies aren't the greatest things ever committed to celluloid. They feature bad writing, numerous plot holes, a rage-inducing attempt to de-gay a certain character, a hypocritical message, an utterly deplorable message, the most outrageous glorification of an abusive relationship by a company that has made its name on "wholesome values", that I've ever seen, an attempt to display girl-on-boy sexual harassment as something that should be played for laughs, and some of the songs are borderline unbearable.

However, in 2006, I fell head over heels in love with Ryan Evans, and in 2007, I developed an interest in his relationship with Troy Bolton. Since then, I've had a passionate love affair with both characters and their dynamic, and as of 2013, I've yet to find anything that could take their place in my heart. Like it or not, for better or worse, this is my main fandom. And as a result, almost all of my stories will feature these characters.

Troy Bolton/Ryan Evans (Tryan)- My OTP (One True Pairing). The sexually confused golden boy athlete with a "Billy Elliot" plot, who is the victim of an emotionally abusive relationship, and the adorable, mildly socially awkward, flamboyantly gay theater kid who is always there to support his exceptionally attractive "friend".

What can I say? Troy and Ryan have so much chemistry, and so many moments, scripted or ad-libbed, that all but holler in the faces of the viewers that there is definitely an attraction that goes beyond friendship between these two characters. Even when the two of them are pitted against one another, in the first movie, where they both end up competing for the same role in the school musical, there is an unspoken level of respect between them.

I'm not sure who to blame/want to hug and bake cookies for for the existence of such chemistry between two male characters in a Disney movie series- although it's most likely Zac Efron and Lucas Grabeel, the actors responsible for bringing these boys to life on-screen so flawlessly, who you can hold accountable- but I'm definitely not complaining. The flamboyantly gay theater king with a heart of gold, and the sexually confused high school golden boy who has a slight hero complex, have so much more potential to me than a whiny, selfish, immature, brat who is supposedly a "genius", being paired with the same sweet, sexually confused golden boy. Especially since this so-called "genius" girl continually hurts and holds this boy back while she's with him.

The relationship between Troy Bolton and Ryan Evans is, by far, the greatest piece of writing and continuity that the series has to offer, and the most progressive relationship to ever come out of a Disney movie.

And, for all of you nay sayers out there who insist that we're all simply "imagining" the attraction between Ryan and Troy, or that Troy couldn't possibly be gay, I'd like to direct you to the article where Ryan is officially stated as being 'outed', and this quote directly from Zac Efron, himself.

As far as I'm concerned, in Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure, when Ryan makes his cameo appearance, Troy was waiting for the blond out in the car, and Troy rushed up the stairs to save Ryan from Sharpay's pull-out-bed-of-doom. No one will ever convince me otherwise!

As for all of the other characters, I sort of support them with each other in a conglomerate of different fusions.

Here are just a few. The bolded ones are the ones you will actually either be referenced or play a role in my fanfiction. The others, well, I'm honestly not confident that that I could write them properly. I'm sorry.

Kelsi Nielsen: Kelsi is my third favorite character after Ryan and Troy. She's the meek, soft spoken Shrinking Violet of the group, who takes a stand against the cold-hearted popular girl that intimidates her, and makes friends with people who respect her for who she is. Over the course of the series, you get to see her come out of her shell and start to blossom, and by the end, everyone is cheering for her when she rightfully is awarded that scholarship to Juilliard. Even if her tastes in relationships to fangirl is exceedingly poor.

Kelsi Nielsen/Troy Bolton/Ryan Evans (Tryanelsi)- This is my top pick for a three-way relationship in these movies. Despite Kelsi's history with Ryan- Ryan being an unwitting bystander while Sharpay intimidated the composer- the two of them easily put their differences aside and team up to help Troy, in the second movie. Kelsi the only one of the Wildcats who doesn't turn into a bully when Troy commits the heinous act of pursuing a scholarship opportunity. She attempts to communicate with Troy, even while everyone else is subjecting the poor boy to an entirely unwarranted silent treatment. When Ryan wins the Star Dazzle Award, Kelsi hops up on her toes to cheer for him, and just-! I might have a bit of a personal bias that stems from the fact that Kelsi and Ryan's relationships with Troy are quite similar. Nonetheless, these three are an impossibly adorable combination, and I wish that we would have gotten to see more of them together.

Jason Cross/Kelsi Nielsen (Jelsi)- Unlike Ryan, who was simply being courteous- although he was also trying to make his sister proud of him, and might very well have gotten pressured by the fact that Kelsi had, for some inexplicable reason, already written him as her prom date in the school musical- when he asked Kelsi to the prom, Jason was genuinely interested in Kelsi. The filmmakers went to the trouble of setting up this cute little relationship between the ditzy, but still well-meaning basketball player, and the pretty, shy composer. Then, in HSM3, these characters have parted ways offscreen with absolutely no explanation as to why provided for the viewers. Jason is suddenly after Martha, and Kelsi is roped into becoming Ryan's incredibly unnecessary beard. Why Disney broke them up to have Kelsi potentially fall for a boy who could never requite her feelings, I'll never understand.

Kelsi Nielsen/Sharpay Evans (Kelspay)- Seehere.

Kelsi Nielsen/Gabriella Montez- I see the potential, but I honestly think that Gabriella would treat Kelsi the same way that Gabriella treats Troy. The only difference is that Kelsi's psyche would most likely shatter much faster.

Kelsi Nielsen/Troy Bolton- "Here's your game ball. You deserve it, playmaker. " If Ryan didn't exist, and he and Troy didn't have the obvious sexual tension that Troy and Kelsi's purely platonic relationship lacks, I would be championing this ship.

Kelsi Nielsen/Martha Cox

Sharpay Evans: She's not exactly a character whose on-screen presence I enjoyed. She's a spoiled daddy's little princess who is often so self-absorbed, she's completely oblivious to the feelings of others, even those closest to her. Still, she is capable of recognizing when she makes mistakes, is willing to make amends, and also happens to have romantic or at least, sexual potential, with a good portion of the cast.

Sharpay Evans/Zeke Baylor (Zekepay)- They were adorable, even if she was using him for his baking skills. As an added bonus; they were an interracial couple, which is kind of a big deal for Disney.

Sharpay Evans/Kelsi Nielsen (Sharelsi) "Kelsi, my sawed-off Sondheim..." "Come here, Kelsi!" It has all the appeal of a love-hate relationship, and a ton of potential. Since Sharpay has matured and mellowed out after her experience in New York, I could easily see these two becoming friends, and a whole lot more, post-high school.

Sharpay Evans/Peyton Leverett (Peypay or Sharton)- Yes, the fact that Peyton with his blond hair, blue eyes, and overbite, bears a resemblance to Ryan, is off-putting. But, I can overlook that. Peyton keeps Sharpay grounded in reality, while at the same time, encouraging her to be the star that he truly believes she was born to be. He goes out of his way to help her realize her life-long dream of landing a role on Broadway. He's essentially perfect for her. Even if he is totally creepy.

Sharpay Evans/Tiara Gold- "By the way, like the accent. It's... sweet." There is so much Unresolved Sexual Tension between these girls. So much of it! I'd actually love to see the direction someone could take a story of Sharpay returning to East High and assisting Ms. Darbus with the drama department, like she was supposed to. She could have a heated encounter with Tiara, which would lead to things getting very interesting, I'm sure.

Sharpay Evans/Gabriella Montez- They treated everyone around them like their minions and subordinates, but viewed each other as equals. In the first movie, Gabriella commented on Sharpay's penmanship as if she was flirting with her. Sharpay looked up Gabriella's picture on the internet, and made suggestive faces at it. (Twice. She also did this in HSM3.) Sharpay told Gabriella to, "break a leg", in the musical after Gabriella took the role that Sharpay wanted.

In the second movie, Gabriella took hold of Sharpay's hand, and thanked Sharpay for helping her with vocal warm-ups during rehearsals for the musical. She also dived into the pool to save Sharpay when the blonde girl slipped in.

In the third movie, Sharpay fantasized about Gabriella being her maid during a part of, "I Want It All", and there's a picture of them embracing on Sharpay's yearbook page during the end credits. Gabriella is also the only character from the original series Sharpay mentions by name in Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure. In the song, "I'm Gonna Shine", she sings: Now there's nothing in this universe to hold me back. "Bye Gab!"

Need I say more?

Sharpay Evans/Chad Danforth (Chadpay)- I firmly believe that they dated in the past, and things didn't work out, so, thanks to their immaturity, they grew to resent each other. Funnily enough, they do manage to put their differences aside long enough to hold hands at the end of every movie. Also, it is just a bit odd, don't you think, that the writers seemed to have went out of their way to break up Chad and Taylor, yet ensured that Chad and Sharpay wound up attending the same college? Personally, I'm rather disappointed that more people didn't take off and run with this obvious set up. This was practically begging for fanfictions, guys!

Sharpay Evans/Jimmie Zara- It's funny. I wouldn't mind seeing where someone could go with the idea of these two.

Sharpay Evans/Amber Lee Adams- Sharpay had a crush on her. This is a canonical thing that happened. Sharpay squealed and got starry-eyed in Amber Lee's presence, and she pumped her fist triumphantly when she got Amber Lee's phone number. Yes, Amber Lee was simply exploiting Sharpay and subjecting the blonde diva to a dose of her own medicine, but guys-! Amber Lee pats Sharpay on the head, at one point. I'm seriously contemplating writing a short one-shot to explore this pairing sometime in the future...

Chad Danforth/Taylor McKessie (Chaylor)- "I'd be honored!" The stereotypical class clown jock, and the strong-minded, no nonsense feminist scholar.

From the first movie, there was a spark between these two.They tease each other, yet, it never becomes antagonistic. Taylor makes Chad work for her affections, but she never outright withholds affection from him, like Gabriella does to Troy. Troy rebels against social conduct by being attracted to both a "freaky genius girl", and the flamboyant theater king that his best friend refers to as an "overgrown show dog". Since Troy is the protagonist, and the other "good guys", are meant to follow his example, it only makes sense that Chad, himself, would also be attracted to a more unconventional type of girl. I say girl, because regardless of what you might think about Chad's sexuality, he's all about preserving his reputation and his masculine image.

I'll make no secret of the fact that I think Chad is a massive douchebag, and Taylor is just the kind of person to keep his attitude in check, while making him happy, at the same time. They also have absolutely amazing chemistry, courtesy of Corbin Bleu and Monique Coleman. All in all, I couldn't ask for anything more.

Chad Danforth/Gabriella Montez- I'll admit, this has crossed my mind more than once. I know that it's wrong, believe me. I do. But... it's kind of a guilty pleasure pairing for me. He calls her "Gab". She fantasized about waltzing with him. He picked her up and hugged her during the spring musical. That's a bit more than a guy just being chummy with his best friend's girlfriend.

Jason Cross/Zeke Baylor (Jeke)- "I'm here." It's "Those Two Guys". Jason is always trying to touch Zeke. Sharpay and Ryan support it. Jason goes along with Zeke to support him when Zeke tries to ask Sharpay to the prom. When Jason finds out that he will be graduating with the rest of his classmates, he jumps right into Zeke's waiting arms. After Sharpay and Zeke broke up, you know that Jason was right there to comfort his best friend. I'm sure that it lead to the two of them hooking up. Especially since Jason had no girlfriend after high school, either. If someone would like to write this hook-up, I'd love to read it. :D

Couples I Can't Tolerate/Won't Work With: These are the pairings that cause me to recoil when I see any work featuring them.

Ryan Evans/Any female character- Just, no. Ryan is gay. Come on, now.

Troy Bolton/Gabriella Montez (Troyella)- I've detailed here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here, exactly why this relationship is so infuriatingly execrable.

The bottom line is, Troy and Gabriella's relationship is abusive. Gabriella never wants to take any of the blame when things go wrong. She hefts all of it on Troy, constantly vilifying and belittling him. She never gives him room to talk, or defend himself. Despite the fact that Troy confided in her that he is very uncomfortable with being placed on a pedestal by everyone all of the time, she expresses in song at least three times that she wants him to live up her fairy-tale ideal of what he "should" be. Troy is a human being who makes mistakes, and has feelings that can be, and are hurt many times, especially by Gabriella (sometimes while she's wearing a smug smirk on her face).

That's not good enough for Gabriella, though. She's a "genius" who was able to get into one of the top research institutions in the country, and she wants, "a wish upon a star that's coming true", and a, "prince", for a boyfriend. No matter how dedicated Troy is to her, or how much effort he puts into making their relationship work, no matter how sweet, or how romantic he is, he will never be good enough for Gabriella. She's the girl who told him to hold off on thinking about his future, berated him instead of supporting him when he pursued a scholarship opportunity, and then stared blankly at him before talking about how she wanted the perfect prom when her boyfriend was completely clueless about what he was doing with his future. She's the girl who wasn't willing to fight for him in HSM2 after they were together for six months, and he hadn't so much as pressured her for a kiss in all that time. She's the girl who was more than willing to break-up with him because she couldn't handle the pain of having to say goodbye to her friends. She guilt-trips him into doing what she wants him to do, and eroded his will power until he couldn't even make up his mind without her there to tell him what to do, which is why he wound up following her to college.

When I think about the possibility of the two of them growing up and getting married, I throw up a little in my mouth, and my soul shrivels up and dies. This dialogue from Glee's Will and Terri Schuester, suits them almost to a T. "This relationship works because you don't feel good about yourself." "This relationship works, because I love you!" Because, even though Troy doesn't love Gabriella, the entirety of their relationship consists of Troy giving his all, being vilified for trying to better himself, having his sense of self shattered until he believes that "nothing works" without Gabriella, and that he can't make his own friends without her "changing" him, and "changing them", getting reduced to codependency on a girl who couldn't care less about him, and receiving nothing but pain in return for his sacrifices. Indeed, if Troy had the self-esteem to acknowledge how poorly he's being treated, and that he can do, and deserves so much better, he would have left Gabriella for Ryan in a heartbeat.

Everything about Troyella physically sickens me. That's probably why one of my favorite Tryan fanfictions period, is a story that takes place in an alternate universe where Gabriella doesn't exist.

Troy Bolton/Sharpay Evans (Troypay)- Once again, I detailed here why this couple doesn't work for me. Troypay is extremely one sided. Sharpay wants Troy for the perks that come with him. He's just another prize to claim, for her. She pursues him, ignoring both his nearly constant protests, and the fact that he's already in a relationship. She uses her status as his employers' daughter to blackmail him into promising to sing with her, and then proceeds to sexually harass him throughout the rehearsal for their duet.

And, Troy's discomfort with Sharpay is established in the first movie. He laughs at a joke that Chad makes about Sharpay spending the winter vacation, "shopping for mirrors", in HSM, hides and runs away from Sharpay twice, says that Ryan is "easier to dance with" than Sharpay, while Sharpay is in earshot, and he laughs when Ryan lowers Sharpay and Tiara off of the stage in HSM3.

Honestly, I simply fail to understand the appeal of trying to pair a teenage boy up with the girl who sexually harasses him. I'd also like to add that, if a sixteen year old boy whom hasn't gotten to first base in the six months that he's been with his girlfriend, constantly refuses the advances of a hot, rich, popular girl, he is most definitely not interested.

And, he's probably more than a little bit gay.

Chad Danforth/Ryan Evans (Chyan)- You'd have to be completely oblivious to not see the blatant homoeroticism that is the entirety of "I Don't Dance". I get that. I also sort of get the appeal of this pairing. It's the two "side-kick" characters, as well as the jock and the flamboyantly gay theater kid. It's cute.

But, re-watching the movies has caused my dislike for Chyan, which was caused, in part, by its baffling popularity, to intensify. I already went into great detail explaining my issues with this pairing, and why it would never realistically work out.

At the end of the day, Chad “doesn’t dance”, while Troy thinks that Ryan is “easier to dance with”. There is no contest in my eyes.

The single most terrifying thing in this world is intolerance, because intolerance generates hate, and hate is behind nearly every tragedy in human history. Do your part to stop it, and stop it now.
