Author has written 7 stories for Newsies, Princess Diaries, and Twilight. About me, if you were wondering... Real First Name: Elizabeth Reason Behind Strange Penname: Don't ask. I've been a fanfictioner since I was...13 or 14. The name has stuck and I'm too sentimental to change it. Age: 22 Education: BA in Theatre Arts, 2008, MA in progress Why I Write Fanfiction: The reason is three-fold - 1) When a story, be it book or movie, ends, I find myself dissatisfied. For my own satisfaction, I have to tie up the loose ends, explore the possibilites that were never touched, and really, I just don't want my favorite things to end. So I write more. 2) I love to write and someday, I hope I have good enough ideas to publish something that others write fanfiction about. But being a busy perfectionist, I find it hard to dedicate myself completely to a totally new idea. So instead, I like to build on current mythologies to hone my craft. That's a little lazy of me but I love to write too much to not do anything. 3) I have so much fun connecting with other people who love the same characters that I do. It's like having a brand new set of friends. My Original Fiction: Two projects I'm working on - Both of them are in the draft stage. If anyone is interested in reading any of that, PM me. Hobbies: Theatre doesn't leave a lot of time for anything else (acting & directing mostly) but I love to write, read, decorate, snoop through garage sales and thrift stores, take road trips, and go camping. I also volunteer as a women's rights advocate. Books: Well, lately I've had to read a lot of heavy academic stuff but I'm a huge Bronte fan. I also love Austen, Shelley, Shakespeare, Sexton, and pretty much any kind of poetry. And I do have a penchant for Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series. Music: Sinead O'Connor, The White Stripes, Tsunami Bomb, Travis, Spiderbait, Duffy, Iron & Wine, Moldy Peaches, Metro Station, Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Edith Piaf, Beethoven, Death Cab for Cutie, The Beatles, The Shins, Motion City Soundtrack, Ludo, Camera Obscura, Kings of Convenience, Billy Talent, Lenka, Green Day, Nat King Cole, Taylor Swift, Bonnie Raitt, and on and on and on. Quote for the week: "Finishing a book is just like you took a child out in the back yard and shot it."- Truman Capote | |||||||||
