Author has written 27 stories for Batman Begins/Dark Knight, Batman the Animated Series, Kingdom Hearts, Sandman, Phantom of the Opera, Batman: Arkham Asylum, and Batman. Well hello there, dear reader! You may never know for sure who I am or where I come from, but then again that makes two of us. Call me Toccata. Before getting this account I spent much of my time studying writing as a craft and the tendencies of fanfiction. It inspired me to review in depth, pick my favorites with care, and respect the spirit of a story absolutely. I've got my own novel underway off-site and several others twiddling their thumbs impatiently. So my work here will be relatively short. By relatively short, I mean don't expect forty chapter epics. Anything around twenty is probably fair game though. On the regular fandoms... Batman: Looking at my collection, most of it relates to a certain Jonathan Crane. Which is funny, because I didn't even glance at him twice until months after TDK came out. I stumbled across a couple of Scarecrow fangirls, blinked, and went "...he HAS fangirls? WHY?" Absolutely beyond me what anybody could see in such an evil, twisted, snobby fellow like him. So I read. And researched. And bought comics. And re-watched Batman Begins. And jotted down examples of what an awful, awful man he is. Until one day, I found myself giggling like a lovestruck preteen because somebody decided to run around Arkham without a shirt in the new game. What. The. Hell. Having said that, I believe in Harvey Dent too. Plus Harley. Also Riddles. Phantom of the Opera: This is the on-again, off-again for me. Love the plot, love the characters, love the multiple media it's been represented in. For my own writing, I'm apt to splice points of Leroux with the 2004 movie. Nope, I'm not fazed by fan factions at all. :-) Suffice to say I grew up with PotO, and it holds a really special place in my heart. Even Raoul. Otherwise: I sometimes poke Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts, but it's not a huge thing for me anymore. What's not in the aforementioned categories is probably either me busting out nostalgia, a brief appreciation, or the start of a new fandom. In which case I'll add it above. IT'S ALIIIIIIVE! :-P I'll likely be focusing my energies there (with occasional oneshot interruptions--those tend to happen) for a while. Everything else, see above. Update: The next week or so of real life is horrifically busy, and I find myself forced to put writing and reviewing on hold. It'll probably drive me a tad crazy with half chapter four done (for aforementioned fic) and talented authors updating like...well, at the speed rabbits breed. I'm not sure exactly when or how delivering feedback became serious business, but I will try to catch up once everything calms down a bit. That said, I'd like to direct particular attention to a new story by H-T-W called I liked you better before. It's a very well written, very promising Harley/Crane tale that definitely deserves more comments than it has. I would also like to thank you guys for continuing to read and review MY stuff--as an author it's extremely gratifying. Never fails to make me feel excited, so thanks. :-) | |||||||||
