Author has written 40 stories for Cowboy Bebop, Lizzie McGuire, Harry Potter, Kingdom Hearts, Gargoyles, Furi Kuri: FLCL, Degrassi, and Twilight. I'm 22, I just graduated college (cum laude, bitch), and I really, really want to change my penname. Alas, I've been doing this fanfiction gig for oh, you know, over seven years now, and I find myself stuck, literally and metaphorically, as "KT the Shimmer Skank." Trapped in my fifteen-year-old self's moniker. Go figure. Mostly I write teeny-bopper bull shit, trying to recapture the adolescence I pissed away. Recently I've tried my hand at fantasy/adventure stuff, but it turns out I'm not actually very clever or creative, so that's an obstacle. I like femslash and drugfics as well. I'm really into crack pairings right now. I almost wish I could stop writing Degrassi fics and move on with my life, but... who are we kidding? That will probably never happen. I'm addicted. You may notice I have a Twilight fic. I read the damn books, and I wrote that one immediately after I read New Moon, because I was in such shock that anything could suck that bad, I felt the need to channel that rage. But as a writer, even in the lighthearted realm of fanfiction, I feel I have to set the record straight. I despise Twilight beyond words. It is an enormous insult to my intelligence. It is anti-feminist to a degree that is intolerable. It makes an utter mockery of the written word. That this steaming pile of crap was ever published, let alone adored by many, is a glaring failure of humanity. I don't want to pick any internet fights over it, I simply want to be clear. I would be embarrassed if anyone thought that my feelings for Twilight were anything short of pure loathing. Also, my Lizzie McGuire fic, "Twilight," has no connection to the series and was titled long before I'd heard of those books... the coincidence is kind of annoying to me but, oh well. | |||||||||||
