hey there,

even though i'm not sure why anyone would visit my profile page (i read fanfiction, but don't write it) i thought i ought to put something up, so here goes:

i'm a st. louis born chicago girl (if that makes any sense) who's torn three ways between majoring in business admin, environmental science and english (i'm currently an undecided). i've got a penchant for chocolate milk, love the rain, detest umbrellas, and enjoy getting lost. the first album i ever bought was pink floyd's division bell, the most recent was of beethoven's cello and piano sonatas, the last concert i went to was broken social scene, my favorite books are cannery row, the sun also rises and white fang while my least favorite movie has got to be mulholland drive (even though i loved blue velvet).

as far as fanfiction goes, i've got a huge soft spot for anything british/form across the pond--spooks/MI-5, doctor who (the tenth!), harry potter (all those misunderstood marauder-era men) and for a while there, torchwood. i've got an extremely open mind so i'm up for canon, AU, slash, het, angsty, lemony, long, short (thick, thin?) and just about anything inbetween--as long as it's relatively well written. like i said earlier, i don't write FF but i most definitely review it and on occasion come up with prompts and challenges that i think it'd be fun to see others write. in all likelihood i could go on and on about myself, but i think it's time for me to stop.

to all you writers out there: keep writing, i love your work.

see you around!

ps. oh, also, i realize that i have a lot--as in, a plethora--of favorite stories. i'm a prolific reader and there are just so many stories on here that i've liked. however, i do realize that not all the stories i've put on my favorites are written at the same caliber. that being said...some of the stories that have stood out to me recently are:

harry potter

sshg: the chair; from the corner; a murder of crows; second chances (by misundersnape); requiem of a dream; the silvering divide; this isn't happening; wanting and waiting; where your treasure is; the mortician; all the million hours; flabbergasted; accountable; survivors; memento mori (on hold); solace (abandoned); OR just about any story in the running for this year's sshg awards which can be found at http://community.livejournal.com/sshg_awards/30206.html#cutid1

rlsb: muse (nicely lemony but def not pwp); a safe place

rlnt: the color of a full moon; first (by nancystagerat); better to have loved (a drabble series)

torchwood

how to fit 6 fully grown adults into a banger (torchwood); first date (jhij, with only the barest hints of lime); unusual family dynamics (jhoh, not slash); OR anything by caz malfoy (probably very nicely tangy)
