Author has written 4 stories for StarTrek: The Original Series, and X-Men: Evolution.

Hey, everyone! My name's Jynx. I write fanfic for virtually everything, but so far I've only put up Star Trek TOS and X Men: Evolution fics. For the confused people, here's my ST:TOS OC bio.

Name: Emily R. Èprouvé

Age: 21

Origin: small town outside of NYC, but raised by British immigrants.

Height: 5' 7.2"

Weight: 110 lbs (Don't become anorexic after you read that. If you're her height and her weight, go eat a chocolate cake. Now.)

Position: Bridge Officer (she runs the mission ops console, is a mission specialist) and is pretty much a generalist, though usually a relief helmswoman/navigator. When asked what her job is she usually simply states 'bridge officer' or 'records officer' (which she also is.) A skilled hacker.

...overdoing it, you ask? No, not at all. Go see how many jobs Sulu takes on. Or the other random bridge officers.

Rank: Currently an Ensign. Third in Command. (Hey! Isn't that Sulu's job? Why yes, yes it is, but now Emily exists and she is better fit. Eheh...actually I made her third in command before I knew it was an actual position and I really don't want to change it.)

Family: All family with the exception of her brother Zachary, his wife Elodie and two children Chase and Cole, are deceased. Lives in an orphanage that her and her brother founded for children and teens whose parents died while serving for Starfleet. Twelve other people currently board in said orphanage, not including her brother and his family.

Friendship: All of her friends on Earth are deceased. Her best friends at the moment (in no order) are Uhura, McCoy, Spock, and Kirk. (notes: Unless on duty she calls Uhura by her first name. She almost always calls McCoy 'Bones'. Emily always calls Kirk 'Captain', unless at a very casual moment, to prove a point, or when worried or stressed. Uhura, McCoy, and Kirk usually call her Emily, Emma, or Em.) She is very good friends with -in order- Chekov, Scotty (those two are tied), Christine, and Sulu.

Love interest: Chekov thinks she's pretty but doesn't really try to impress her because he, like most of the crew, thinks she loves Spock. (She does not.) Èprouvé has a crush on the navigator. Emily tries to stay away from relationships, thinking them both distracting from her duty and sure to end badly.

Other relationships: She sees Spock, Kirk, and McCoy as brother-figures, her fellow crewmen often mistaking this for romantic feelings, they see her as a sister-figure and the four of them are best friends, closer than anyone else. Èprouvé sees Scott as the unlce-type. She treats the three men accordingly. While usually seeing Uhura as a best friend, she sometimes finds a mother in her. These family roles show Emily's young characteristic.

Appearance: Medium length brown hair kept in intricate styles like the rest of the women on board. Has a blonde streak that she dyed in front of her hair. She has amber eyes with very dark circles under them, pale skin, and British teeth. Though she is pretty, many people have commented that she seems to look sick and weak all the time. This causes people to think she's much older than she actually is. (No one thinks she bad looking, but no one calls her pretty either. /except Chekov\)

Starfleet: She started the academy one year after Chekov, graduating one year after he did. Reportedly, she had no clue what she wanted to do and tried every class, showing excellent engineering skills, efficiency in science, and skills in medicine (though she ruled this one out, not wanting to have anyone's life in her hands.), but mostly skills in command. Èprouvé graduated with the rank of Ensign, finally being placed on the bridge for whatever purpose and duty officer. Many Starfleet officials have worked with at least one of her family members, expecting two things from the young girl because of that: she would be good at her job, and her career would be short-lived, ending within two years and she'd be killed. So far, she has proved them wrong. The five-year mission was her first assignment.

Other: Èprouvé claims to have allergies to pretty much everything in existance, including allergy hypos, and thus having to suffer from a recurrent cough that has weakened her lungs and throat and lessened her sleep time. Whether this is truly the reason for her violent coughing and raspy voice is unknown to everyone but herself (and me...hehe.). Emily fears very few things, though she is absolutely terrified of anything bad happening to her friends, and being even remotely responsible for the death of an innocent (the main reason that she refused to be a medical officer.) Èprouvé is well known for her skills in hacking and her knowledge of random, usually pointless facts. The Ensign is skilled in hand-to-hand combat and is usually selected for missions because of this, despite her other weaknesses. (Haha...don't worry I've got the whole sickness thing planned out and it really does make sense. All will be revealed eventually!)

Unlike Emily, I have a crush on McCoy (though I see him as a brotherly father type, too...) and I do like Chekov, and I also like Scotty. Also Unlike my OC, I absolutely positively despise Chapel and Sulu. And I have no reason for it. At all. But it's an undying hatred that I try to suppress in my writing, since Eprouve has no reason to hate them either. (In the City on the Edge of Forever, when the helm blew up and knocked Sulu unconscious two minutes into the show, I was like..."OH! YES! HAHAHA! Instant replay. Let's see that again. I could watch this all day..." And that's when I first noticed that I didn't like Hikaru. sigh)
