Author has written 4 stories for Across the Universe, and Star Trek: 2009. Newspaper Taxis appear on the shore Waiting to take you away Climb in the back with your head in the clouds And you're gone... ~The Beatles, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds About Me: I am currently somewhere in my mid-twenties, live on the North America continent, and am about yea high. I spend way too much time on this site - way, way, WAY more than I should, considering I am getting my Master’s degree to become a librarian of some sort. I am something of a grammar / spelling Nazi and it bugs me to no end when fics are badly written. I am known to stop reading fics if the spelling and/or grammar is too poorly done (as in errors WAY beyond the random typo or the stray punctuation mark or if it looks like it was FF.N produced) or if canon characters stray too much into OOCness, no matter how excellent the plot may be. Additionally, I will not read slash unless they are already canonical. I'm not against that lifestyle (rather, I even support legal rights for them), but neither will I seek it out in the fanfics I read; I just don't like anything too explicit. Not when I'm looking for sweet escapism at least. On the other hand, I will read just about any fanfic that is well done, especially those that are written by the authors I have favorited. However, no matter the fandom, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Hurt/Comfort (preferably much much more hurt than comfort) in which the character is bleeding out and is half-dead... and I am a hopeless, sadistic, fangirl for all things whumpage. Since I've joined this site, I've met so many amazing people. Two especially deserve a shout out: the wicked awesome Soncnica (whose writing is pretty much my crack in every way...) and my partner-in-Kirk-Whump, LaylaBinx. I have no idea what I'd do without either of you on here... Major Fandoms: My major fandoms are Supernatural, the Star Trek Reboot, and, to a much lesser degree these days, Across The Universe (I no longer read fics in that fandom, but I do write for it and have several fics in the works and a few more ideas lined up). I will occasionally dip into other fandoms, but infrequently and sporadically at that, and usually only because an author I had favorited or alerted had written for another fandom other than the one I am currently following. No matter what fanfic I read, I am a major hurt/comfort junkie (borderline sadistic) and will not venture out of that category. I’m more hurt than comfort and love a good bashing and/or whumpage as much as the next fangirl... Currently my addiction/obsession (depends on how you look at it...) Hurt!/Sick!DeanWinchester (I just saw S1 of Supernatural less than two weeks ago and I'm a total Dean!Girl) and is Hurt!/Sick!/HalfDead!Kirk, but only in JJ Abrams' reboot realm and with the face of the very cute Chris Pine. Reviewer AND FanFic Writer: As eagerly (even compulsively) as I follow my fandoms (which are more guilty pleasure than anything else for me), I'd once sworn that I would never write a fanfic for them nor did I ever have any plans on writing a FanFic. However, I have effectively proven myself wrong. I actually established this account to merely better follow all the fanfics I am currently reading, to receive alerts for them, and to keep track of my favorites so I do not need to go back to hunt them down every week to see if they had been updated. Even though I only joined this site recently, I have been one of those anonymous lurkers for about a year and a half who would read fics but never comment on them or leave reviews. Then I got tired of being a lurker and upgraded my status to a signed reviewer. However, after witnessing the slow demise of the Across The Universe fandom, which has made me very sad, especially with the virtual nonexistence of hurt/comfort fics for that particular fandom, I decided to write my own fanfics to make myself feel better. In terms of Across the Universe, "Looking Through A Glass Onion" and "What's Above the Neck" are both Complete, while "Thanksgiving, 1969" is In-Progress and will be a three-shot by the time all is said and done. And after several months of saying so, I have FINALLY made the warp-jump to Star Trek: 2009 with "Son of Adam", a corroborated fic I am working on with the ever-awesome LaylaBinx (Girl, I have no idea what I'd do without you here...). We have no idea how long this fic will be or when it will be completed, but the first two chapters are up. I also do have several other fics planned/in the works for Across the Universe and one in the works for Star Trek. I will be posting them upon their completion, whenever that may be. I hope you enjoy my pieces. Feel free to leave reviews or PMs. They're like candy. Or... Yeah... I'm going with the candy. Feel free to PM (and preferably only PM) me anytime!
