Update: I hate that I have held on to pieces and episodes of my Maiko storyline for so long. I don't know that I have any objectively good reason for doing so, but if I had to say... it's equal parts due to: an incredible pace of change in my personal life in the past year; an ethical issue I've been struggling with with the free-fiction community in general; and very mixed feelings (to put it generously) about the new Avatar: Legend of Korra series. With both my free time and motivation drastically decreased, I find it difficult to write at the moment.

I appreciate so much all the positive feedback from the community, and it makes me happier than I can possibly convey to find that I have brought some enjoyment to other fans of this amazing show - and in particular, these two amazing characters. I know what it felt like to create the three one-shots I have published, and I cherish the experience dearly. I cannot bring myself to put in a half-assed effort to follow up pieces that I - and many readers - so sincerely invested in. All I can promise right now is that the moment I take up writing again, the first project I will work on is some continuation of my Avatar: The Last Airbender fanfiction. I am truly sorry for disappointing anyone with this irresponsible hiatus, and I hope the community continues to produce incredible works for fans and authors alike to enjoy.
