Author has written 5 stories for Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, X-Men: Evolution, Hunger Games, and Hetalia - Axis Powers. RECENT NEWS: Hello, and welcome to my profile! It's really long, rambly and out-of-date, but I can't be bothered to actually getting around to editing it ... I will soon be 'adopting' the Hunger Games FanFiction Dead or Alive by Number One Fan of Journey and I. It will be found on her profile for a short time before being transferred to mine. I now have a deviantArt account! My username is Obiwanlives4ever. Check it out if you want to see some of my Fanart. Current Avatar: 5 young late Victorian or Edwardian women, from http://girlswearinghats.blogspot.ca/2010/04/victorian-era-girls-wearing-hats-three.html A Bit About Me: I am/have been obsessed with ... Hetalia, Hunger Games, X-Men: Evolution, Nancy Drew computer games, the Percy Jackson series, Star Wars, New Mutants, Pirates of the Caribbean, Lord of the Rings, Shakespeare, Harry Potter, Warrior Cats, Eragon, Agatha Christie, Dear Canada/America/Royal Diaries, The Forgotten Garden, the Titanic and just about every historical era from the Middle Ages until the end of WWII! Favourite music: Where do I begin? Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, the music of Mamma Mia, Need You Now by Lady Antebellum, I Keep On Loving You by Reba McIntyre, The Climb by Miley Cyrus, Keep Holding On by Avril Lavigne, It’s All Coming Back to me Now and My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion, You Raise Me Up by Rolf Lovland and Brendan Graham, Footprints in the Sand by Leona Lewis, pretty much song from any Disney or non-Disney animated movie ever, anything on the soundtracks from the Nancy Drew computer games, classical/old church music, and old ragtime tunes from the early 1900s (think Maple Leaf Rag or the Entertainer)! Favorite movies: HUNGER GAMES, LES MIS, Star Wars, Harry Potter, LotR, PotC, anything classic Disney or Pixar, Kung Fu Panda, How to Train Your Dragon, X-Men films, Enchanted, The Princess Bride... and lots of others that I'm probably forgetting right now! Proud member of the Black Pearl PotC forum, the Starvation Hunger Games forum, and the Brutal Death Denial Support Group Forum based off the FanFictions of Number One Fan of Journey! A book I'm currently reading: Six Wives: The Queens of Henry VIII by David Starkey, Three Act Tragedy by Agatha Christie Movies I'm looking forward to: Catching Fire My Fandoms: X-Men: Evolution (and New Mutants, ‘cause I don’t feel like making a section for it all on its own): Favourite characters (Evolution): Kurt, Kitty, Avalanche, Toad, Rogue, Cannonball, Amara, Sunspot, Multiple. I also like Iceman, Angel, Havok, Rahne, Leech, Danielle Moonstar and Amanda. Favourite characters (NM): Cypher (so what if his power wasn’t very useful?), Warlock. Favourite pairings (Evolution): Lancitty!!! (Strangely enough, when I started watching the show for the main purpose of sneering at it, I thought Kurt and Kitty were destined to be together and couldn’t see what on earth Kitty saw in Lance, but as I really started to appreciate Evolution, Lancitty just grew on me! Plus, I think Kurt and Kitty have the sweetest of friendships) Kurmanda, too. Hunger Games: Favorite characters: Oh, where do I start? The Hunger Games fandom has such wonderful main characters, with Katniss, Peeta, Prim and Cinna being among my favorites. But I also have a thing for the minor ones, especially those I read about in FanFictions, so here's a shout-out to Madge, Beetee, Wiress, Foxface, Lavinia (the Axox girl), the district 3 boy, the district 10 boy, Maysilee, Bonnie and Twill, and Darius! Favorite pairings: Katniss/Peeta, though I don't hate Gale and do feel he got worse than he deserved in Mockingjay. Finnick/Annie is also cute and sweet. Hetalia: Favorite characters: Latvia, Canada, Estonia, Lithuania, Sealand, Austria, Hungary, Ukraine, Belgium, America, Liechtenstein, Poland, Iceland, Norway, Monaco, Switzerland, N. Italy, England, in roughly that order. Favorite pairings: AusHun, Canada/Ukraine, Estonia/Ukraine, England/Belgium, LietPol Percy Jackson: Favorite characters: Hmm ... it's weird, that I really, really like this series, but I didn't really 'connect' with many of the characters like I do in other fandoms. I'm sure it's just me, though, because Rick Riordan is a fantastic author. My two favorite characters here would have to be Percy and Annabeth. Favorite pairings: Percabeth Star Wars: Favourite characters: prequel Obi-Wan Kenobi (hence my penname), Shmi and Luke Skywalker, Padme Amidala, Leia Organa, Han Solo, Qui-Gon Jinn, Boba Fett (especially as a kid), Owen and Beru Lars, R2D2, Wedge Antilles, Shaak Ti, Kit Fisto and Bultar Swan. Favourite pairings: Anakin/Padme, Han/Leia. Random musing: Why don’t Star Wars ships have special names for them? What would they be? Padmekin? Anidala? Pirates of the Caribbean: Favourite characters: Okay, I'm probably the sole person in the world who watches PotC for the British guys rather than the pirates. So first and foremost is one of my favorite characters in any fandom, James Norrington (most awesome character ever, in anything, with the exception of Obi-Wan Kenobi. He's got honor, attractiveness, courtesy and courage all rolled into one - what more could you want?). But I also like the minor ones too, like Governor Swann, Murtogg & Mullroy, Gillette, and Groves. If I had to pick a favorite among the pirates, though, I'd say Bootstrap. Yes, I know he killed Norrington, but he wasn't sane then, and I admire his devotion to Will. Favourite pairings: Unrequieted Norribeth Lord of the Rings: Favourite characters: Boromir, Sam, Pippin, Arwen, Legolas ... just to name a few. How can you dislike any of the good guys when you’re watching something as epic as LotR? Boromir, Sam and Pippin most of all, though. Favourite pairings: Aragorn/Arwen (Aragwen?) Harry Potter: Favorite characters: Luna Lovegood (who doesn't love her?), Moaning Myrtle, Remus Lupin, Cedric Diggory, Colin Creevey, Neville Longbottom, and pretty much any minor Ravenclaw/Hufflepuff student (think Terry Boot, Anthony Goldstein, Hannah Abbott, Susan Bones, etc... I just have a thing for the minor ones.) Favorite pairings: I'm sort of on the fence about most HP pairings. Don't love 'em, don't hate 'em. Though I think Neville/Luna might be cute. I, Obiwanlivesforever, pledge that I: - Will always respond gratefully to any reviews of my work, provided that they are not flames. - Will never treat anyone as I would not wish to be treated. - Will never flame anyone's work or post a review with the sole purpose of mocking the fic. Things I Hate in FanFiction: While I don't really like Mary Sues or Lemons, the thing I hate the most is critics who do nothing but try to stifle other writers’ creativity. So-called "constructive criticism" drops into the category of mindless flaming when all it does is attack the author's personal writing style, the story's genre, or the characters used in the story. For example, what I view as actual helpful criticism could be tips on better spelling, punctuation, grammar, or keeping someone more in character, or a request for the author to add more description in certain areas of the story. These are things that will actually help the author; things that they will actually go out of their way to improve on. A flame, on the other hand, attacks things that the author will not want to change - for example, the pairing, the characters used and the light in which they are cast, the genre, etc. Criticism, if it is necessary, should be impartial, not biased due to the author's own dislike of the subject material. Attention to all writers who flame others in this manner: hello! People write about certain topics because they enjoy doing so! It is understandable if you do not like a certain topic, for everyone is different, but that does not give you the right to attack people who do. Here's some constructive criticism for you: if you don't like the genre of or characters included in a fic, then don't read it! It is your own fault if you, knowing full well you don't enjoy reading, say, romance fics, read a romance fic and then immediately flame it due to not liking the genre. Flamers, please remember: FanFiction.net is supposed to be a safe haven for people to share the work they are most proud of. Don't turn it into a place where people don't post their stories for fear of pointless criticism. Please? My Stories: Completed: Valerina and the Link of Ravenclaw(Harry Potter): my first real FanFiction, which I wrote between the ages of 9 and 11. It follows the adventures of my Ravenclaw OC, Valerina Tristont, during her first year at Hogwarts. When I was little, I thought it was genius. Looking back, I can see not only its numerous glaring flaws but also the fun I had writing it and how much I have improved. I posted it for those who enjoy a lighthearted, easygoing read that they can laugh at and won't have to take too seriously. Goodbye (Pirates of the Caribbean): a oneshot about the last moments of an East India Trading Company soldier as he is about to be executed by pirates at the end of AWE. Serves as a sort of reverse of the hanging scene at the beginning of that movie, with a look into the minds of the other side. In Progress: Unstained (Hunger Games): a multichap about Wiress' games, hopefully the first in a trilogy covering her life. Very slow updates. Sort of on Hiatus: Are We the Bad Guys?(X-Men Evolution): a multichap about the Brotherhood's growth and motivation throughout the series, with Lance as narrator and protagonist. An IMMENSE thank you goes out to ALL my loyal reviewers and readers for sticking with this story since the beginning despite the slowness of updates. I'm terribly sorry but I have been struck by lack of inspiration. I am not planning to completely abandon this story, merely give it a break until I feel more like writing it. Upcoming (Possibly): We Remember (Hunger Games): a multichap focusing on the 'We Remember' promos made during Mockingjay to honor the fallen tributes. Will have 12 chapters, one for each district, focusing on a particular tribute and how the people reacted to their promo. Most of the tributes will be minor characters or OCs. Writing this will have to wait until my OC dies in the SYOT story 'Dead or Alive,' as I am planning to use her in it. In the early planning stages. Irony (Hunger Games): a short oneshot on the death of President Snow. A plot bunny that just won't leave me alone. Numbers (Hunger Games): another drabble that won't leave me alone, this time focusing on the death of Rue from the eyes of the Capitol. Reaped (Hunger Games): yet another random drabble; it may be incorporated into a chapter of We Remember since I'm not sure it'll be long enough to stand on its own. First Impressions (Pirates of the Caribbean): a multichap on how young James Norrington first took to the sea and met Gillette and Groves. First chapter is in-progress, but I will not continue until I am finished Are We the Bad Guys, Unstained and We Remember. Is intended to begin a series of four FanFictions on James Norrington. Holding On and Letting Go (Pirates of the Caribbean): a oneshot about James Norrington; would be written after or duing the Norrington series. Under the Magnifying Glass (Nancy Drew): a series of prompt-inspired oneshots, each one based off one of the ND games. Just an idea I've been toying with; whether or not it will actually be written is still up in the air. If I did, it would definitely NOT be a priority, just an exercise to help improve my writing. Something about Moaning Myrtle (Harry Potter): I've wanted to write a long multi-chap about her for around five years. May or may not be written. If it is, it will be a loooong time from now (probably at least 5 years.) Favourite Stories: A Friendly Encounter by Kchan88 A must-read for fans of James Norrington, especially those hoping he found peace in death. This soft, peaceful one-shot really touched my heart and highlighted so many wonderful aspects of the complicated relationships between Norrington, Elizabeth and Will. Drawn With Love by MerryKK A beautiful one-shot describing the strength of Boromir and Faramir’s friendship through a simple yet touching act. Great for anyone interested in the brotherly love shared between the Gondorian siblings. Extermination by Slickboy444 Undeniably one of THE BEST FanFictions I have read on this site (excepting RiverOtter1 – hers are in a different class altogether for me), an ambitious, gritty, heartrending and inspiring story that mixes the raw tragedy and violence of the X-Men movies and comics with the innocent characters of X-Men Evolution. The first few chapters are real tearjerkers, but the riveting plot and intense emotion of this epic will definitely make up for it. The first FanFiction that’s made me laugh, scream and cry all at once! Five Happily Ever Afters for Juliet Capulet by buduica The poignantly simple prose of this story weaves out five possible happy endings for a story we know will end tragically – Romeo and Juliet. Especially heartbreaking is the fact that each of these ‘happily ever afters’ could so easily have been achieved. For Whom the Bell Tolls by Tavia Similar to my own story, Goodbye, this one-shot inserts raw emotion and realism into an often-overlooked, yet pivotal, act during the final battle of Curse of the Black Pearl. Good for anyone who loves the navy men of PotC or who is looking for a good tearjerker. Harry Potter and the Heir of Slytherin by wingedthing I haven’t read this one in so long since it hasn’t been updated in forever, but I remember thinking it was the best adaptation of “What Could Have Happened in Harry Potter 7” I’d ever read, in some areas superior to what the book itself did. Packed with surprising plot twists, powerful magic and new developments. Never Leave FanFiction Lying Around by crazyroninchic One evil pink book. Two horrendous Mary-Sues. The Fellowship. That is all. If you are looking for the ultimate LotR sue parody, look no farther, my friends. Of Love and Lust by nerdybookworm A sweet and thoughtful drabble exploring the difference between Willabeth and Sparrabeth. Not for Sparrabeth shippers. Favourited because it echoes my exact sentiments on the two relationships. Suddenly Silenced by Sailor Coruscant The first story I favourited, this thoughtfully-written one-shot looks into the final moments of those on Alderaan before it is destroyed. Absolutely heartbreaking and tragic. Tears by ForgottenMoonbeam92 An emotional, heartwarming look into the friendship of Obi-Wan and Anakin after Qui-Gon’s death. The last line makes the story. Three Williams by Nytd This one-shot is a sweet look into the relationship between Will and Elizabeth Turner, their child, and Bootstrap, during the ten years Will is away at sea. A great read for those who support the curse ending after ten years. Game Over by gethsemane342 An excellent piece looking into the minds of those who sponsored the tributes of the 74th Hunger Games. Short but sweet, this series of one-shots skillfully contrasts heartlessness and sympathy, greed and generosity, the cruelty of the Capitol and the quiet courage of those who find it in their hearts to disagree with them. Very interesting for anyone interested in the 74th Hunger Games tributes or just what goes on in the mind of the sponsors! Also, pretty much everything Hunger-Games related from gethsemane342 (well, that's all I've read from her) because it's all so well done! In Protest of this Peace by hewhoistomriddle A chilling one-shot that delves into the first ten Hunger Games, vividly illustrating the District peoples' resistance and eventual surrender to their brutality. The Flaw in the Plan by PK9 Truly one of the best FanFictions I have ever read, The Flaw in the Plan takes a character with several sentences of screen time - the district 3 boy in Katniss' games - and turns him into an engaging, likeable, and sympathetic protagonist. It turned a faceless extra into a personal favorite character, something which takes true talent. I just cannot describe how unbelievably awesome this story is. Read it for yourself. You will not be disappointed. However, as can be expected, it has a very sad ending. Brutal, Horrible, Coming Home and What If by Number One Fan of Journey Number One Fan of Journey has done the unthinkable: taken two completely unrelated fandoms, mixed them together, and created a truly riveting and unforgettable story. Brutal, which chronicles the 43rd Hunger Games, and Horrible, which details the 45th, involve the "Axis Powers Hetalia" characters as district teenagers who are reaped and thrown into the Games. Regardless of if you've seen APH (I haven't), if you know Hunger Games, you will love these incredible stories. Coming Home is a very heartwarming oneshot meant as a sort of epilogue to Horrible, and was actually a story request from me. What If is a collection of alternate endings to Brutal and Horrible. I highly recommend this series. The Freedom Trilogy by Caisha702 Caisha writes with masterful depth and maturity, transforming the minor villains Cashmere and Gloss into engaging, sympathetic protagonists. This FanFiction blurs the lines between typical views of 'good' and 'evil' in the Hunger Games world and has actually had me rooting for Careers over the other tributes at certain points! Packed with intense character development, a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at the world of Panem, and a stunning cast of OCs, the Freedom Trilogy is a must-read for all Hunger Games fans. Captain Jade by Stutely Constable A humorous one-shot which pits a Mary Sue against James Norrington and shows how our favorite Commodore would actually react if one of these vile creatures tried to humiliate him. The House that Greed Built by Max Alleyne A fantastically-written one-shot, based off the children's poem, showing the slow reconstruction of Panem from a place of tears and bloodshed to a place of security and love. The Fanfiction Testament by Araloth the Random A hilarious satire of Suefics, slash fics, and other less-than-savory Lord of the Rings FanFictions. Araloth's witty writing style combined with the elegant, old-fashioned prose of the Bible makes for an outrageously funny (yet completely non-offensive) read. by What the Quell An emotional glimpse into the post-Hunger Games Panem, in which Katniss and Peeta discover what the future Quells would have been. Brings to the forefront the cruelty of the Capitol and the enduring strength of Katniss and Peeta's relationship. Everything RiverOtter1 has Written Make sure you check out RiverOtter1’s Lord of the Rings stories! Together, Nana is Here, Light and Pebbles are beautifully written tales, rich with symbolism and emotion, cast a spotlight into the hearts and feelings of some of LotR’s best characters! And be sure to read A Case of Mistaken Identity by xoBeautifulXDisasterxo! I'm helping her Beta-read it and it's an excellent story for anyone who likes Pirates of the Caribbean and classic whodunits! It is for everyone who feels worthless, for everyone who wishes they had never been born. It is for all the bullied, downtrodden, abused, heartbroken, lonely, hopeless, left out, suicidal, and those who suffer from low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, stress, aspergers, and other disorders or problems. To each and every one of you: I have been there before, and I know what it's like. I've had many times when I wished I would fall asleep at night and never wake up. What I want to say is: never give up. YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Although it may seem tempting to end it all, the world would NOT be a better place if you were gone. No matter who you are, YOU ARE SPECIAL. Keep on believing in yourself. Don't listen to those who say you're not worth anything, even if they're just voices in your head. As hard as it is to believe, life is always worth living. I know that I can't help everyone, because each person's problem is so unique, but I can spread this message of hope and empowerment across the internet. If you are reading this, please consider copying and pasting it to your profile so that others may see it. Whoever you are, I hope that this message makes you smile and brightens up your day. You deserve it :) Below are some quotes and lyrics that have helped inspire me during my darkest times. If you choose to copy and paste this, feel free to add some of your own. (Don't feel that you have to copy and paste all of these - I know there's a lot!) "Do you ever feel already buried deep Six feet under scream but no one seems to hear a thing Do you know that there's still a chance for you 'Cause there's a spark in you... You don't have to feel like a waste of space You're original; you cannot be replaced If you only knew what the future holds After a hurricane comes a rainbow Might be a reason why all the doors are closed So you could open one that leads you to the perfect road... You just gotta ignite the light and let it shine Just open wide like the fourth of July 'Cause baby, you're a firework Come on, let your colors burst!..." - Firework by Katy Perry "These struggles I'm facing, these chances I'm taking Sometimes might knock me down, no, but I'm not breaking I may not know it, but these are the moments I'm gonna remember most, yeah, just gotta keep going And I, I gotta be strong Just keep pushing on 'Cause there's always gonna be another mountain, I'm always gonna wanna make it move Always gonna be an uphill battle, sometimes I'm gonna have to lose Ain't about how fast I get there, ain't about what's waiting on the other side It's the climb." - The Climb, by Miley Cyrus (say what you want about her, but I love this song.) "Seems the only one who doesn't see your beauty Is the face in the mirror looking back at you You walk around here thinking you're not pretty But that's not true, 'cause I know you..." - Tied Together With a Smile, Taylor Swift "To me, “FEARLESS” is not the absence of fear. It’s not being completely unafraid. To me, FEARLESS is having fears. FEARLESS is having doubts. Lots of them. To me, FEARLESS is living in spite of those things that scare you to death. FEARLESS is falling madly in love again, even though you’ve been hurt before. FEARLESS is walking into your freshmen year of high school at fifteen. FEARLESS is getting back up and fighting for what you want over and over again… even though every time you’ve tried before, you’ve lost. It’s FEARLESS to have faith that someday things will change. FEARLESS is having the courage to say goodbye to someone who only hurts you, even if you can’t breathe without them. I think it’s FEARLESS to fall for your best friend, even though he’s in love with someone else. And when someone apologizes to you enough times for things they’ll never stop doing, I think it’s FEARLESS to stop believing them. It’s FEARLESS to say “you’re NOT sorry”, and walk away. I think loving someone despite what people think is FEARLESS. I think allowing yourself to cry on the bathroom floor is FEARLESS. Letting go is FEARLESS. Then, moving on and being alright…That’sFEARLESS too. But no matter what love throws at you, you have to believe in it. You have to believe in love stories and prince charmings and happily ever after. That’s why I write these songs. Because I think love is FEARLESS." - Taylor Swift Fun Stuff: If you like some of the minor or unpopular characters, ships, etc. in a Fandom and are proud of it, no matter what others think, copy and paste this into your profile and add your name to the list: Obiwanlivesforever Katniss is the Girl on Fire. I thought it would be fun to post a short little review of every game after I finished them. Nothing too in-depth, just a brief review pointing out what I liked in each game. I will post new reviews when I finish the games, and eventually alternate monthly between them once I have replayed them all. I know it's several months late, but here's the first one. WARNING: INCLUDES MAJOR SPOILERS FOR CURSE OF BLACKMOOR MANOR. DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT PLAYED! Game/Number: Curse of Blackmoor Manor, Game #11 First Played: summer 2006 Replayed: October/November 2010 Favourite Character (besides Nancy): Sure, they might be dead, but I always thought Brigitte and Penelope Penvellyn sounded awesome. From what we hear about her Penelope seems to have been so sweet, and I’ve always admired Brigitte’s intelligence and love of astronomy. Plus, they were very forward-thinking and creative for women of their times. Favourite Music Track: Aaah, how do I choose? Nancy Drew music is always impressive, but Curse of Blackmoor Manor truly pushed up the bar with its utterly brilliant soundtrack. I adore all the different songs for various reasons: “Dulcimer,” and “Prep,” are spine-tinglingly creepy (though by no means my favorites), “Brigitte’s Ballad,” is so catchy and brings a bright bit of charm to the game, “Memoirs,” “Amusant,” “Recorder,” “Renaissance,” and “Empire,” are absolutely beautiful and really create the atmosphere that helps make CBM so memorable, but overall I think “Fairy,” captures the feel of the game the best. “Amusant” might be my favourite, but it’s a very close competition. Favourite Location: Again, one of the things that makes Curse of Blackmoor Manor appeal so much to me is the setting. My favourite Nancy Drew games are always the historical-themed ones, so CBM was an instant winner. It’s so relaxing (but a little spooky at times!) just to wander around the various hallways, drowning yourself in the gorgeous music and stunning graphics. I’ve always loved the upper hallway, all the way from Nancy’s room to the little chamber with the green dragon statue, just because of the intricacy of the architecture. Nancy’s room is also a favourite area of mine, because of all the beautiful astronomy-related stuff. However, I think I like Jane’s room the best, simply because it provides a respite from the haunting atmosphere of the rest of the castle. No matter how scary the game is getting, you can always go to Jane’s room to play games or look at the family tree, and no frightening events ever happen in there (apart from Jane getting a threatening note, which isn’t really that creepy.) Favourite Puzzle: I’m going to be doing a lot of gushing here. I loved the historical aspect of so many of CBM’s puzzles. The usage of the four elements to power the forge was a very clever way to tie the Penvellyns’ various puzzles together and fit with the theme of Medieval/Renaissance Europe. I also adored anything to do with astronomy, such as Brigitte’s constellation box. But my very favourite puzzle had to be the alchemy door guarding the secret lab. I LOVED using the web page on Nancy’s phone to figure out which elements had to be combined together. Very, very fun. Most Frustrating/Hardest Puzzle: While I adored most of CBM’s puzzles, the one that always makes me tear my hair out in exasperation is the accursed sliding tiles above Jane’s door. I always end up using the cheat sheet on UHS hints: you go up to the door and back away ten times (which is irritating in itself as you have to insert the key every darn time) and on the next time you come back, the tiles have rotated so that you only have to make a few moves to get them in line. Scare Factor: Another of CBM’s merits is that it’s just so blasted scary! Seriously, this game has given me more bad dreams than any of the others, with the possible exception of Message in a Haunted Mansion. Some of the events, like the beginning cut scene or the lady in black, are truly terrifying, especially if you’re young and it’s your first time playing. I still can’t listen to the chanting at night or watch Nancy’s nightmare without turning the volume off. CBM is definitely a contender for scariest Nancy Drew game, although MHM and now Shadow at the Water’s Edge are giving it a run for its money. Thoughts on the Ending: Now, I know the ending was very different from those of most other games, and that CBM has gotten a lot of flak for it. However, I thought it was sort of fitting that one of the darkest and most complex mysteries gets such a simple, rational conclusion. I actually liked that something as scary and inexplicable as a woman seemingly becoming a werewolf due to an ancient curse could ultimately boil down to a lonely young girl unhappy with her father’s remarriage. And I liked how the Penvellyns vowed to patch up their relationship at the end, and how Jane got to make another puzzle to protect the treasure. As a little girl playing this I always wanted my family to have a long and fascinating history so I could think up some puzzle guarding an ancient secret. Criticism: Nothing. I just thought that some of the frightening events should have been a little better explained. For example, it’s revealed that the ‘red eyes’ Nancy sees at the beginning were fake light-up ones, but who decided to scare her with them in the first place? And who was the Lady in Black? And what was up with the chanting at night? I guess it’s implied that it was Jane every time, but I would have liked a little more closure. Overall Impression: CBM is the epitome of what a Nancy Drew game should be and more. It is my second-favorite out of all the games. Approximate Rating: A solid 10/10 Reasons I Love Star Wars: This is a ‘Reasons I Love Star Wars’ list I wrote about a year and a half ago and posted on the ’10 Reasons why Star Wars ROCKS!’ forum. Just a light-hearted list I thought would be cool to share with everyone. I hope no Harry Potter fans take offense at the fifth point; I love Harry Potter too! I just like Star Wars better. - Because it takes me to a galaxy far, far away. - Because it's two trilogies in one saga. - Two words: Obi-Wan Kenobi. - Because, unlike pet rocks and platform shoes, it was popular in the '70s and still is. - Because Harry Potter needs a wand to levitate things. Yoda does it with his bare hands. - Because it teaches me to embrace the impossible. - Because, no matter what happens, good always wins. - Because Anakin remembers. (This one was based off a simply incredible YouTube video I found called 'Anakin Remembers.' It shows the scene in which Darth Vader kills the Emperor and saves Luke, but from Anakin's point of view, so that the viewer sees flashes of his previous life, all set to the song 'It's All Coming Back To Me Now' by Celine Dion. Pretty much this point means that I love Star Wars because of how Anakin remembers who he was, the key point of the saga.) - Because it teaches me to look for the Force in the smallest beings, wisdom in the most naive, and good in the most evil. - Because it's not just for guys. - Because it's okay to be a 'Star Wars geek.' - Because it's more than just a movie - it's a lifestyle. - Because the Force is with us - always.
