Hi All!

30-something Twi-hard here!

I was really late jumping on the Twilight bandwagon... My sister-in-law gave me the books for Christmas last year (2008), but for some reason, I put off reading them. Don't really know why, but part of it was b/c I knew that once I started, I wouldn't be able to stop. Boy was I right! Read Twilight on vacation last May. Wasn't really sure about it, and it took me two weeks to pick up New Moon. That's where I got hooked. Read the last three books in four days, then reread them all 4 times in a row, back-to-back-to-back. When my hubby complained that I needed to find something else to read, I finally dove head-first into the realm of FanFiction. I have not read anything else since (pretty sorry, huh? LOL)

What Twilight and Twilight FanFiction has taught me: I am an EdwardxBella gal. I'll read other pairings, but I much prefer ExB. I love HEA's (I loved Breaking Dawn--minus the Jacob crap--because Bella and Edward got their happy ending). I prefer all-human stories. Angst, done right, is really great. I love me some hot Office sex! Hate and love are sometimes hard to distinguish. While I have no desire to be a Domme, I am definately NOT a sub (although there are times when I wish that my hubby would just manhandle me). Snarling is sexy; growling is good. Body mod can be really cool (just got my second tattoo). Maybe I have missed out on some steamy encounters by not being internet savvy... Teenage sex, while something I don't condone, can still be a hot read (I'm beginning to think that I might have missed out on something there, too, after all. LOL.). Less is sometimes more. More is sometimes too much... Smut is pretty fucking great, no matter how you get it!

edited 1/22/2013: It KILLS me to admit this, but after several years of reading fic, I think I'm getting tired of smut. *hangs head in shame* I know... I spent so much time reading so many awesome smutty stories when I first found the fandom, but I can no longer handle chapter after chapter of sex. Now, let me clarify... I am still a fan of a few, well-placed/plot-progressing lemons in a romance story, but I need a story in there, too!

In general: I am absolutely obsessed with reading; I will read just about anything! It drives my husband nuts how I can lose myself in the written word to the exclusion of just about all else; I read to escape. When we go on vacation, I typically take a book for each day we will be gone! Some of my favorite authors include: Robert Ludlum, Ken Follett, Michael Chrichton, Tom Clancy, Sidney Sheldon, Danielle Steel, Iris Johansen, Lisa Jaskson. Favorite book series include: Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Narnia, Clan of the Cave Bear, Harry Potter, and my latest, the Twilight Saga. I occasionally pick up a series romance if I'm looking for something short and fluffy (a quick and easy escape). I'll take science papers to bed if I'm looking to put myself to sleep (LOL).

I also love creative writing, and have found a lot of release in expressing my feelings, emotions, hopes, dreams, happiness, and fears over the years on paper. Most of this is in the form of poetry. I have lots of "Odes to (fill in the blank)" in my notebooks and computers--usually about school or work and the challenges that accompany those settings. Recent entries in my poetry diary have been Twilight-centered, as I was so incredibly moved by the saga that my feelings/emotions just couldn't be contained (and writing poetry seemed to be a better emotional outlet than crying for no reason at work!). I have now been bitten by the Twilight FanFic frenzy. I am currently working on multiple projects.

edited 1/22/2013: Unfortunately, the dreaded writer's block has hit me. Hard. There are many contributing factors, both in real life (work and home life) and fandom-related (a few encounters from long ago that left a bad taste in my mouth and that I've never quite recovered from). I am trying to work my way through it, but in the meantime, a few of my WIPs have been left hanging. I have long since pulled the ones that I knew I would never be able to finish, but I've left 2 in hopes that one day I would come back to them. From here on out, all new stories will be written to completion before posting, in order to ensure that no additional projects will be abandoned. Thanks!

What's on my iPod: I have a very eclectic music collection, with a preponderance of euro-trance/dance and 90's alternative rock, but I have a little bit of everything in my music collection. Heavily represented artists include: Foo Fighters, INXS, Van Halen, U2, Cake, Coldplay, Gwen Stefani/No Doubt, The Black Ghosts, MuteMath, Black Eyed Peas, Madonna, Britney Spears, Lady GaGa, Justin Timberlake, and DJ Tiesto, with a bit of Audioslave, STP, Muse, NIN, the Police, MIKA, Tom Snare, Fonzerelli, Jamnesia, and others mixed in.
