Author has written 4 stories for Labyrinth. I’ve always protected my online identity very zealously, so this is me trying to let you all know something about me while still trying to retain my anonymity. I’m 40-something, female, and I live in Los Angeles, California with my husband, three children and two guinea pigs. LIKES: Books - Well, I finally went out and read (and immensely enjoyed!) something current. Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of One Day by David Nicholls. Apart from that, the only other books I can give heartfelt recommendations for are quite old: Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice. For a while in my teens and twenties, I was into reading sci fi, but I pretty much gave up reading when I started having kids - there just weren’t enough hours in the day to take care of them, work, read and sleep - I tried foregoing sleep and it didn't work out too well. I had hoped I could start reading again once they were old enough to bathe and feed themselves, but it appears that helping them with homework is just as time consuming. It’s just as well, because my traitorous eyes have recently made it nearly impossible for me to read even simple things like recipes and food labels. I must be getting old. Music - Yup, I’m getting old. The last three new releases I bought (Mojo by Tom Petty, Red Velvet Car by Heart and Stone Temple Pilots) are all by old timers. The Johnny-come-latlies of the bunch (STP) have been around for something like 20 years. I also like Stevie Nicks, Duran Duran (who should have something new in the spring!) and David Bowie (who I desperately wish would put out some new music in lieu of the book he has planned). Television - I have a love/hate thing with TV. Full cable, and I can never find anything I like. I could probably live without television. Unfortunately, hubby and the kids couldn’t. Hubby usually picks what to watch, and it’s generally sports (football, baseball or hockey), or the dullest stuff he can find on the History or Military channel. I have been suckered into watching Deadliest Catch, though (Capt. Phil Harris, rest in peace). That being said, I don’t mind watching House, Modern Family, Eureka and Doctor Who. | |||||||
